This venue is a striking country mansion in the picturesque Northamptonshire village of Creaton. Originally a coaching inn, it has evolved into a superb venue for all kinds of events. Its continued development has been careful to maintain the beauty of the original building, successfully combining 17th century charm with 21st century comfort. Highgate House is only a short distance from Northampton, The Historic Althorp House and the M1, M6 and A14. The historic, family atmosphere is strong throughout the estate, but is perhaps most noticeable in the rooms in and around the main house; each containing centuries of memories almost tangible to those within. Please note that the hotel has no elevator. Not all accommodations are in the 17th century building, most are in modern extensions across from the property. Hotel Rooms: 98

Staff were generally very helpful. Very large bedroom with big television. (I think we were upgraded to this room at no extra cost) Comfortable bed. Good food at good prices. Nice views. Good swimming pool Options for eating outside the hotel (E.G. for lunch) were very limited. £5 tray-charge for room service is a bit much for £7 sandwiches.

Staff were very friendly and informative. The buffet breakfast was well made. The room was slightly dated and there was damp on the wall. However we did not feel it was necessary to cause a fuss as it was only one night, we had a comfortable sleep and we had a lovely stay.

We booked Highgate because of the great reviews we'd read and we weren't disappointed. All staff we encountered were extremely friendly without exception. The hotel is very obviously geared up for corporate team building functions, but as we stayed at the weekend, this did not blight our stay. If you are expecting to stay in the old mansion part, you will need to upgrade and pay extra.

The staff and facilities are run in such a way that you know you have privacy, when having a business meeting/dinner and additionally you feel that nothing is too much trouble. There is an abundance of food and the quality/style/presentation is excellent. Reception was incredibly busy and with only one person on in the morning for check out didn't help. I had to make a number of visits as the door entry key is electronic and if placed too close to my Blackberry would wipe the information off the key, thereby needing a number of trips to get the key reactivated. A bit of a pain when it is raining!

All staff were extremely helpful. Martina helped us check in and went to a lot of trouble to explain the layout of the hotel and the surrounding facilities. Amber served us in the restaurant and was smiley and helpful but giving us plenty of privacy to talk when we wnated to. Food was excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a huge bed. The swimming pool was empty when we went so it was like having a private pool. Towels and shower gels/shampoo in the chnaging area made for a wonderful experience.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel most welcome. We had a room in part of the main buildings and it was very comfortable. Other rooms are located in separate blocks around the property. The food was excellent, as was the service in the main restaurant. The swimming pool was located in a completely different part of the hotel to the sauna and gymnasium. To go from one to the other would have meant a long walk across the carparks and entry exit roads not too good on a wet day.

The Food was excellent I also thought the games in the lauge drinking area were good and sociable. Its a nice venue for a wedding. The staff were very nice and knew what was happening. It was a lovely stay overall I would come again and stay here If I were doing somthing in the area. I didnt think having the sauna in a separete place to the pool i thought that was a strange layout

Room clean & comfortable Very misleading use of pictures showing a lovely old country house however, you don't stay in this or use facilities the actual accomodation blocks are 1960's motel type. Also getting seated in dining room is chaotic at best!

Didn't really spend much time in the hotel - I was there merely as accommodation for a family wedding which was held at a different venue. That said, during the brief time I spent there the atmosphere was good and the reception staff were helpful in that I arrived outside of normal check in time but arranged for me to pick up room access card after arriving back at 00.30 pm on the following day. Breakfast was good & restaurant staff couldn't have been better.

I stayed at highgate for a wedding that day. The wedding took place there and we cannot thank the staff involved enough, it was an amazing day they cannot do enough for you. The food was excellent and plenty of it, the grounds are so well looked after and you dont yet stung too much for drinks. Truly amazing.

We cannot speak too highly of the hotel, especially the staff and the facilities. Coffee, tea and snacks were available at all times. The food was excellent and served in a delightful dining room. The room was excellent and the bed was especially comfortable.

Staff were welcoming and friendly especially the Reception staff who couldn't have been more helpful My impression of the Hotel was that it lasked identity. For me it didn't know what it was trying to be or what market it it was aiming at. The Hotel was fragmanted with facilities being split over the site which was a little bit too awkward for me. Good job it wasn't raining!

Excellent. A couple of problems. Firstly the room was set out for sole occupancy with only one set of towels, tea stuff etc. Reported it to reception and it was sorted immediately. My partner's steak was over cooked at dinner (which is slighlty subjective) but it was replaced without question. They even replaced my meal so we were still eating together. My partner used the pool and said it was fabulous. Overall, I've never experienced hotel staff that are so polite and I stay in a lot of hotels. Great value for money. Very clean, tidy and comfortable. It's obviously a business \ conference hotel. The original old building is fabulous but the added bedrooms and meeting rooms do have a slight 'Crossroads' look. Give the ivy a little more time to grow!
