Everything, especially the friendly helpful landlady.
Ease of location to station
Very welcoming. The lady in charge was so obliging when my partner and I explained how we would be leaving early hours. Everyone one we met went out if their way to mmake us feel welcome. Lovely family and accommodation. Thank you.
That we weren't able to stay longer.
It didn';t spoil a thing but the flush handle on the toilet was broken, so we had to fiddle to flush to toilet, this is not a complaint, just a remark.
Fabulous helpful manager who is a real treasure. Without Debbie the place would be average, but she makes it special.
Nothing at all!
Debbie was an exellent host ,good breakfast easy to find good location near town , beds comfy .Room was Clean and tidy we would stay again .
Needs a bit of TLC updating curtains ect .
small car park
Very friendly and a very good breakfast.
A really nice guest house. Welcoming and clean. Breakfast was excellent.
Debbie the manager is really nice, very friendly and cooks a great full English, good choice of fruit and cereal. The bed was really comfortable, very clean bed linen. Free WiFi was very strong signal a reliable, useful to have a hair dryer in room. The Highgrove is in the perfect location for visiting the Bolton.Great value,I would definitely stop again when in the area.
The sloping shelf in the bathroom(Room 6 ) , also because the light above the basin does not work, it means turning on the light and combined extractor fan, this did not bother me but it is a waste of expensive electricity and the noise of the fan could upset another guest.
Great little place, local to the town centre, cheap and the breakfast was delicious. Debbie was lovely and very helpful. Gonna be staying again in a couple of months...would highly recommend :-)
Loved it, couldn't fault the place
Made to feel very welcome, comfortable - good breakfast. Good location
The room was clean. Staff friendly.
I don't think it justified the Price for the area and didn't Include a breakfast.
Debbie was very friendly and helpful. She also met us on time and gave us keys etc
The room was very old and tatty. It had been cleaned as well as possible but furnishings were just ole and lose. Worst of all the room stunk of smoke. We were told a smoker had been in the room and thrown out the previous day But to be honest it smelt like smoking had been a regular issue. It could also be that the room we had was facing the kitchen fan .. So a mix of fried food and smoke. Shame because Debbie was very nice.
nice friendly manager, nice room, etc.
Close proximity to town centre, Very clean and Debbie is very welcoming. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast was gorgeous...Thank you Debbie
the manager was excellent
bedroom n bathroom looked a bit tired
very friendly staff. Decent breakfast.
location is on a busy road which makes it easy to get to, not quite so easy to find and parking on arrival is far from obvious although in fact the owner provides a permit.
The owners were very helpful and although it was the weekend got up to supply us with an early breakfast in order to fit in with our requirements. Lovely friendly welcome.
En suite was a little tired and on the small side but was no problem..
staff was excellent
the cleanliness of the room
Very friendly welcome. Comfortable room and bed. Excellent value for money, especially compared to Manchester accommodation prices. Located 5 min. walk from Bolton station, an approx. 20 min. train ride to Manchester Piccadilly.
Clean tidy well managed
Very helpful and understanding staff, great location and really good price. Given room and front door key to come and go as you please (my last hotel locked the door at 10pm!). Free wifi was stable and fast enough to watch catch up TV on.
Small tear in the carpet which looked like it has been there for some time, minor issues flushing the toilet but I am only saying these because I couldn't find anything else wrong!
A clean and comfortable guest house with pleasant staff, that's very good value for money if you're on a budget. We had a good night's sleep in comfortable beds and enjoyed our overnight stay which was followed by a very nice breakfast.
Some decor is just starting to look a little bit "tired" but just needs a bit of a spruce up really. Other than that, no complaints at all.
Flexibility with breakfast being an optional extra
The shower in one room in the basement was not ideal as it was really powerful or a trickle
