Very comfortable stay in the bungalow, with spacious and quiet room. Very helpful staff, wonderful breakfast. The house itself was lovely.
A little hard to locate at first.
The location is nice, just a 10 minutes walk form Bath town centre. The room was large and spacious. was cheap considering Bath average prices.
The room we were allocated was in a separated building from the main house, and was not as pretty as the actual Highway house. Rather a modern made bungalow. It was also slightly damp. Another down side was that to go to the lounge area and the breakfast area we actually had to get out of the building and walk to the main house. The main house was prettier , although the breakfast area was somewhat shabby. The staff that welcomed us was very nice and friendly, the staff that served the breakfast was a bit more carless and clearly not too concerned about us. Worst of all I specifically requested a gluten free breakfast as I am coeliac, and asked it not possible to let me know so I could cater for my self. However though when I went to have my breakfast the lady taking the order told me they had no gf bread, or cereals or sausage or anything. So my breakfast choice was rather limited. Beacon, eggs and mushrooms with no bread. My parents had a full English. It was ok but you could clearly notice that it was not prepared with care, sausages were clearly been reheated, the beacon was not a nice lean cut, and the scrambled egg looked rather unappetising an the mushrooms looked more boiled then grilled. The choice of cereals was very limited and there were no pastries of fruit available. Mostly it did not feel particularly clean. Overall it was ok for one night, but I would not choose it for longer stays. I must say thought that there were some renovation work in progress, so maybe soon the place would be better.
Situated an easy 10mins stroll down a hill to Bath Centre was great, free parking as well made this a good option as parking is at a premium in the city centre. On a busy main road but an easy walk home up a slight hill, well lit and felt safe to us. It felt more like a hotel than a B&B but breakfast was great and served by two lovely ladies. A well appointed lounge is available for guests use. The whole house needs a bit of a reburb but what is there is reasonably comfy. The bedding in a double was a little lumpy, needs replacing but managed to sleep well enough. On the whole though a fair price for what you get.
The lumpy bed, otherwise all ok
Walking distance to downtown Bath. Charming room with breakfast included. Free parking. Great staff. Would stay again if I get the opportunity to go back to Bath.
Friendly welcome, good breakfast
Nice and confortable bed and bathroom. Excellent breakfast and the staff very helpful. They even prepared us an early breakfast on the day of our departure. I will hardly recommend it.
Friendly greeting. Good breakfast but selection of fruit and cereal could have been greater. Very clean. Parking available. Large comfy bed.e
Dated but not period fittings so no character in family room. Electric points to dry hair not near mirror.
Breakfast was good. The staffs were nice. Location is OK.
Bedclothes were not so clean and the room has spiders on the walls and even on the bedcover.
Breakfast and comfortable,
Not a bad thing to say
This was a great b and b. We rented a family room which was big enough for our needs. When we stayed there it was very hot outside. The inn provided a large fan. The full English breakfast was filling. Some of the best coffee in our English trip was served.
It's a beautiful house, the location is a little bit of a walk from town and it's all up hill but the number14 bus goes from the centre of town, and there's stops right outside the house. Hosts we're lovely and welcoming, great WiFi signal, breakfast included in price but I didn't stay as I had to leave very early.
I was in room 7, which is located around the back of the house. It got a little cold during the night but there was a heaters provided as well as a standard radiator, but I wasn't shown how to use it. Then again, it is August, it was unusual cold that night and he probably assumed I wouldn't need it.
Breakfast was good. Room clean. Water bottles, sweets in room as well as usual drinks facilities. Small bottles of toiletries.
We were in a separate out building. Basic accommodation.
Lounge comfy. No TV on in there or breakfast room - hurrah! Breakfast excellent.
Grubby light cord pulls really let the side down
Great suggestions for dinner when we arrived very late- Indian Restaurant very handy and excellent meal and service
The only negative point was the taxi service from the train station- driver was unhelpful, lazy and condescending- a real pity as it was our first negative for our whole trip- certainly not a reflection on the accommodation
Friendly host Good breakfast Clean
Mattress, pillows and quilt need replacing. Did not get a good nights sleep. On a sleep hill.
Lovely rooms, comfy bed, nice hostess, good breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay.
Location up a hill not good for older guests, needed to get taxi for some in the party.
Bedroom for family of three is spacious with comfortable beds. The cook to order breakfast is excellent.
Nice traditional B&B. Free parking
The steep hill and fair walk back from Bath centre was ok for us, but could be a problem for some people.
Staff were friendly Extremely clean rooms Cooked breakfasts provided were good and accomodated vegetarians Fresh towels provided each day everyday and refreshments tray changed also Free wifi and tv in rooms Big Ben discount card given Rooms a fair size with good storage available and a large comfortable bed
Breakfasts could have more variety in the continental side and a larger time slot for breakfast would have been nice Would like information provided on bus services as location uphill Shower took a while to heat up after one person had used it beforehand Facilities to be able to by refreshments on site e.g. a vending machine weren't available
We enjoyed our stay in Highways house. We booked triple room it was clean, cozy and big enough with comfortable beds and large clean bathroom. Personnel are helpful and very kind. We also liked selection of served breakfast. Location of the hotel is good as center of the Bath in just 10-15 min walking distance and about 2 min. by taxi from the train station. We can highly recommend Highways house.
Good location. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.
décor and furniture were very dated
Location is excellent, parking on site, bus stop across street, taxi to town under £5. Home is beautiful and well maintained. Staff excellent.
