Hill Studios is a great base for many activities around Lewes. The studio is very comfortable and has everything you need for a self-catering break. It is a great balance of having the freedom to come and go yet providing breakfast needs. Thank you to the owners for their hospitality.

the independence ....i find some B&B's a little difficult to relax in ...really felt like we had our own space/ retreat....all be it in the back garden! Also the fact that you could book just 1 night ...on a bank holiday weekend nr brighton this is a rare find ...hence 'budget friendly' status! Friendly, welcoming and really convenient ...would definitely go back. the fact that the 'double bed' was just 2 singles pushed together! Though they were very comfy!

This is a studio based next to, but separate, to the owner's house. I arrived late, but everything was set up perfectly, with a mini kitchen and cereals etc for the next morning. Because I paid in advance I never actually met the owner which is a shame as I never got the chance to say thanks. I couldn't find a pen. If I had, I could have written a note to say thanks for such a great stay.

A clean and comfy stay in a great studio built to a high standard. We stayed so I could do the brighton marathon but I'd quite happily come back and stay and enjoy Lewes more. A warm welcome was given by the gentleman owner. Would like to stay longer next time.

The contact the owner had with us before the trip. The fact that there was everything we needed in the kitchen area as well as the rest of the studio was there - and worked and was spotless.

Hosts were great people and very interesting. Coomfort of furnishings and sence of space warmth and ventilation. Privacy, Helpfullness. Everything really. Note. Thomas Paine in Lewes Book is a very interesting read. Writen by Paul the Hotel Proprietor The position of the TV in relation to the bed. I like to watch TV in bed and this was not so easy. I wonder if the TV could be possitioned on the oposite side of the room to the bed. The metal steps were a bit scary and there was nothing much in the way of a handrail. Or am I just being a whimp?

A quiet, comfortable and cosy place, great to get away from the big city life and relax. Just on the edge of South Downs, a perfect start for walks and cycling. Very welcoming hosts and all the small things you need for a comfortable stay - I particularly liked the fresh bread and the collection of books :)

It was well located, fully equipped and very comfortable. The owners, Carol and Paul were extremely helpful and friendly. It is close to many National Trust properties, Brighton and the South Downs National Park. People with mobility issues would find negotiating the steps to the studio difficult.

A lovely clean trendy studio apartment that rivals some five star accomodation. It was peaceful and quiet yet close enough to walk into Lewes town. The Owners have quite clearly gone to some trouble to ensure that there guests are well catered for , a real home from home.

Hill Road Studios was close to Lewes and Glyndebourne which is why we picked it. The room was lovely with excellent facilities in a good location with parking a short walk from Lewes town centre. (15 mins). The owners were friendly and helpful but left you to come and go as you wished. There was a nice patio area to sit outside. We would definitely return and recommend.

It was clean, convenient and practical. It is a B&B not a hotel, so most of the words above are totally irrelevant. It did "exactly what it said on the tin" the beds were comfortable, the breakfast materials provided were adequate - nothing else to say. A few too many steps, but then it is on a hillside (hence the name). An extra light on the steps or a more sensitive sensor would be helpful but not essential.

This is a self contained studio appartment. The room was modernly furnished and clean and situated in a quiet location. This is an ideal stop off for South Down Way walkers being on the north west side of Lewes, so conveniently placed for the route.

This is a Bed&Breakfast kind of place. However thanks to the separate entrance I didn't feel even for a moment that I was "invading" the privacy of the owners.

Very nice studio apartment, nicely equipped kitchenette, self catering b&b so many breakfast essentials included with the room. Wi-Fi. Hairdrier, iron & ironing board. Quiet location, but within walking distance of lewes town centre. No wardrobe or drawers for clothes only a few hangers on a wall hook so you have to live out of your bag.

Good location for our event: comfortable bed: nice, clean well presented room with "kitchen corner"; helpful staff although as we arrived late and left early we didnt meet them. Would definitely recommend this hotel Price may be a bit on the high side size of bedroom very large but the bathroom was very small there are many sockets in the room but oddly there didnt seem to be one near a mirror which would have made hair drying easier for ladies Fruit provided for breakfast quite modest choice These are not complaints just observations

We were looking for alternate accommodation in Lewes after having previously stayed in an overpriced hotel. Both apartments were light, airy and comfortable and were decorated to a very high standard. Nice to have a little replica Rodin sculpture in the room. They were well equipped and the breakfast was good. Note, that there is a cafetiere and real coffee provided. Highly recommended.

The studios were ideal for my reqirements as they were completely self- contained. They are situated in an area close to the Sussex Downs, which was ideal for walking and (for me) running. The owner made sure I was comfortable with the heating on when I arrived. There was also a good provision of food and beverages. I would definitely recommend these studios.
