Welcoming, friendly staff who were a wealth of information about the area and the best sights to see. Nothing was too much trouble, the room was comfortable and clean and a good selection of food for breakfast. |

I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The House itself was very well decorated and we especially enjoyed the flowers and plants in the garden and courtyard. |

The manager was friendly. The breakfast service was very efficient and prompt. The hotel seemed very clean and organised. People from different tables chatted to each other over breakfast, which is always a good sign. The room was small as I was a single traveller. Most of the flat surface / desk space was taken up by a really huge television in this little room. I had to physically put it on the floor to create comfortable space to do some writing and desk work. A flat screen TV would have solved this problem. |

The owner was very friendly and suggested a great pub. She directed us to get into the city center by walking through a lovely park at the end of the street which we wouldn't have known about. The location was perfect--close enough for a easy walk to town, but quiet at night. The room was comfortable and attractive. The breakfast was very good. We highly recommend this B & B! |

We really liked the friendly welcome we received. Ian our host was so helpful and friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him over breakfast.. I had requested soya milk and gluten free bread and this was supplied no problem. The house was really clean and comfortable and very close to the city. It was also great to have the park so close.I Would definitely return to Hillcrest and recommend it to anyone travelling to York! |

The staff were helpful and friendly. They made us feel welcomed. The rooms were clean. They had a great power shower. There were no power points for shavers. They could have done with more railings to hang wet towels or clothes. Tv reception very poor. |

The location was fairly central - walking distance to the town centre. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was beautifully cooked. Three flights of stairs to our room with heavy bags, & window was in the roof, which could not be opened when raining. |

The staff were absolutely lovely- very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, I had an excellent stay. We had the triple room and there was plenty of room. I am missing the wonderful breakfasts now I'm back home, they were a great start to fuel you for a day of shopping! |

Quite near to the city center, within walking distance to attractions in the city. Staff let me park there during the day to avoid troubles finding parking in the city itself. The breakfast was pretty good too! Free wifi was great! The room was pretty small and old it's a small inn more than a B&B. Parking space was rather small and limited. |

Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. A 10-15 minute walk into York Centre with local shops and pub only 5 minutes away. Will stay there again. |

Helpful and friendly staff, breakfast, close proximity to York city centre and Rowntree park It was unfortunate that the room we were in had not been refurbished, unlike most of the rest of the hotel (apparently). Also the room had only a skylight- no view at all which made it rather depressing. |

Very good location close to the center of town; friendly staff; homey feeling; very nice room; very clean; good bed; excellent breakfast. Fortunately it was NOT as cold as it sometimes can be in England. Being from California, I felt the chill however a little bit, but had brought a hot water bottle and the hotel had an extra blanquet, so it was fine. |

This guest house in the heart of York offers a licensed lounge and bar and easy access to the city centre. |
Bishops is not a hotel, but a 5-star Guest Accommodation. This restored Victorian villa has individually designed en suite rooms and comfortable, family-run surroundings. |
Situated on the banks of the River Ouse, The Queens Hotel is ideally located for the many shops, restaurants and bars that the centre of York has to offer. |
This guest house is in an excellent location, just minutes from the city walls and half way between the city centre and racecourse. |
