The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good. It is in a good place for visiting the cathedral and castle. We had a park view from our bedroom window it was beautiful. The big hill you have to go up to get to it from the town.

found the hotel a pleasure to stay in. Staff very attentive and friendly, the room had a great view and you had no restrictions, even a map of what to see was supplied. Everything explained clearly and tea coffee etc was in a box in your room. Excellent.

very good breakfast and nice view! good service and friendly staff- internet is fine as well. the room was a bit bare- apart from the whiteness in the room, it lacked some spacing - for example in the bathroom there was no shelving where one could put things on.

Lovely cosy room. Fabulous bed. Breakfast delicious served by owner who was friendly without being intrusive. Her husband does the cooking and you really must eat in the restaurant in the evening. I had the rack of lamb beautifully presented and absolutely devine! The Hillcrest is overlooking a park a nice place to stroll through to reach the centre of Lincoln with its many attractions. Super stay all round would definitely stay again. Nothing

The comfort. The views The position The friendly owners The breakfast The four-poster bed..... over the top in an average sized room. I would have preferred a blind in the bathroom rather than a heavy lined curtain........ but these are minor issues.

The hotel owners have made me feel at home. Breakfast was spectacular and Arborentum views from the dining room or my room, impacted. I went with my dog, a boxer and I had no problem. Very affectionate with him and very considerate. If my dog could talk, repeat the stay, and I with him. The location is perfect, about ten minutes from the cathedral and downtown Lincoln. Really, stop looking and book because it has everything you want. good food, very nice and professional treatment, very comfortable room, good location, parking area, etc ...

Fantastic location, with great views over the city of Lincoln. Located within a reasonable walking distance from the quaint shops of Steep Hill and the cathedral. Large, traditionally styled room with some exposed beams.

The room was really nice; clean, modern in style and good facilities. Breakfast was nice. One of the members of staff was helpful. They were good enough to lend us cultlery when requested, so that we could use it with our take away meal. They also allowed us to leave the hotel 15 minutes after check out time. They had building work going on at the time which was very loud (drilling etc.) from 9am-5pm, and really wasnt relaxing. We were not warned of the building work prior to our booking/ visit. When I called the staff to request that they stop drilling so we can get some rest, they were a bit short with me. They did agree to request the builders stop but this lasted about 15 minutes then the drilling started again. We also struggled to get out as they had pulled up the carpet across the hall and we had to climb over it. Not particularly professional I felt.

Altho we have visited Lincoln several times for shopping, we had never stayed over, so when the opportunity arose for a ngt away without the kids, we spontaneously booked a small dbl room at the Hillcrest. I'm not sure if we were actually given a 'small double', (Room1), but we were pleasantly surprised to say the least. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, leather sofa, TV and wonderful plump feather duvet, which, considering we hadn't paid much more than for a room only motel deal, more than exceeded our expectations. I would describe the Hotel as warm, welcoming and full of character and I'm amazed it only has 2* status. We had a fabulous breakfast which was served in a lovely bright restaurant. There is a wonderful conservatory attached for additional dining, but considering we were there during snow in Jan, we stayed in the warmth of the main restaurant. Yes Lincoln is hilly, but anyone with reasonable health & fitness can easily walk down into town or up to the Cathedral within 10 min. The only slight problem we encountered is re parking. The Hotel has parking for abt 4 cars, but it's very tight and is accessed by going down a steep driveway! As I said, we had heavy snow during the night and although we couldn't fault the owners for doing their best to clear & grit the driveway, it was still a fairly hair raising experience getting the car out. We certainly intend to return to this Hotel, but even in good weather, I still think we would park on the road!
