Great location, friendly and helpfull staff, we'll be back.
Comfortable room. Large bathroom. Alasdaire recommended the Tartan Arms Pub and it was very good.
Wi-Fi was not working.
Warm welcome from Ian. Room faced away from road, so no traffic noise. Pretty garden. Very conveniently situated near to pub where we bought good value evening meal and breakfast. Designated car parking very near to room.
Rather loud inconsiderate Spanish guests as neighbours. Whose children were throwing stones out in the car park and who got up quite early and who 'spoke' at the tops of their voices. maybe need signage in other languages requesting people to keep the noise to a minimum last thing at night and first thing in the morning.
it was very quiet and peaceful.
there was no staff onsite at all and a note with my name and instructions was left on the door of main house. the Wi-Fi did not connect the whole time we were there - very disappointing. the tv on the wall was far too small for the generous size of the room and was very hard to watch from the bed and there was only 1 plastic chair!
Stirling is a great town and Hillshead Farm is located on the outskirts, near some of the main sites, ie Bannockburn Battle Site, William Wallace Memorial, while the town is only a short ride away. Great farm atmosphere and friendly host Alastair.
The farm was close to the town but with a rural outlook. An easy one mile walk into town and the Bannockburn centre
The owner was very insistent thay we pay for the accomodation the night before we left. He told us he was leaving early the next mornign and wouldn't be around when we checked out so we paid him on our last night and then found that he was still on site when we were leaving. Didn't feel the trust even though he had our credit card details.
Clean and comfortable. Wonderfully quiet location. Love the wildflower garden.
Could use some convenience shelves, towel bars, etc. in the bathroom
location good and quiet, considering so close to busy road. TV on the small side but not of real concern.
Shower difficult to manage and LOTS of cold water before it becomes hot. Same in basin hot tap - I SO SO hate such waste.
Comfortable units in a rural setting but close to bus stops for easy access into town and restaurants/pub for meals. Very friendly hosts who were very accommodating.
Not much sound proofing between the units.
Location, friendliness of staff
Wifi issues. Inconsiderately noisy other guests who arrived late evening.
Overpriced. Facilities did not match price charged, perhaps due to local celebratory event that finished that day (?). Beds with foam top layer not comfortable. Shower functioned poorly.
it was excellent! peaceful, relaxing, and the setting was lovely, had fragrant flowers surrounding us as we came in & out! Our hosts were lovely people! We would go back again! and would recommend to everyone!
Spacious accommodation, easily accessed and perfect for visiting several parts of central Scotland including Stirling, Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Perth, Trossachs, Glasgow and many other places. The accommodation was clean and located close to a Premier Inn for a good breakfast.
2nd stay here, every bit as good as the first and I managed to resist picking strawberries from the garden.
Quiet location only 5 mins from Stirling but just off motorway. Comfortable family room with beautiful garden- would have been lovely to sit in if rain had held off! Ideal for graduation accommodation! Found garden centre coffee house just up road v good for late breakfast at 10am.
Reception for tv not great but we didn't have time to watch any! Nothing else to report- please use this lovely accommodation.
Suited our overnight purpose, eatery nearby.
Loved the room, the view, the bed, the garden. Owners were kind and friendly. Would definitely stay here again .
Easy going access, short distance too Stirling and other places
Water temperature in the shower was not easy to adjust
Location convenient to Stirling and train to Edinborough. Room was large.
The owner was very nice, telling us about the area.
When we booked this property in December 2013 for our trip in May 2014, we specifically requested a ground floor room with walk in shower. Apparently these special requests are not passed on via your website to property owners/managers, so we ended up in a first floor room, up a steep staircase, no handrail, and although we were 3 adults (travelling with our adult daughter) for some reason the owner thought we were a couple with a child! Therefore the 3rd bed was a fold out camp bed. Not really very comfortable.
Nice quiet rooms. Comfortable bed. Private bathroom. Had horses and cows outside.
Cannot walk to different destinations.
Clean, comfy, friendly, plenty of parking. Location is close to Bannockburn Visitor Centre. Very quiet and pleasant location.
Not much within walking distance - there is a restaurant right across the street (brewers fayre). Street is quite busy to cross.
The beds were extremely comfortable.
We didn't see a single staff member as they were out when we arrived. Check out was done via text message.
Easy and simple, not too far from sights in the area good value.
The location was perfect for us, due to visiting family who lived locally. We were also welcomed quickly and professionally from the owner.
We had a slight issue with the gate being closed in the evening and had to climb over the fence to get in.
