Hillthwaite House Hotel  

Location in good weather . Beautiful views .ideal for Winderemere and Bowness. Very good breakfast . The bathroom was modern and spacious . The gardens and terrace were excellent .

Our room was too small and up two flights of stairs and no lifts. It also was a strange shape with a sloping ceiling over the bed which could be hazardous. In fact if we had spent more time in the room it would have been claustrophobic .

Staff friendly and welcoming. Nice warm pool for baby. Nice and clean excellent view from room lovely big comfy bed. Very accommodating for baby putting a high chair in room too xx

Only thing I could say is no fridge in room and shower not very powerful

My room was above the kitchen there was noise up to about midnight which kept me awake

Very friendly. Had character. Excellent food & dining room. Clean & tidy. Quiet. Well located. Good views. Efficient. Very comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Appears to be progressive. Good atmosphere. Excellent conservatory seating.

Only one thing; the strange ritual of having to sit down in a separate lounge to order dinner then get up immmediately to be seated in the dining room where you still wait the normal amount of time to be served. We would prefer to go straight to the table and order there. It felt odd.

The view from the hotel and its location. The comfort and style of the main lounge and the professionalism of the breakfast waitress and one of the receptionists.

The long wait to be seated for dinner and served our second course.The very warm wine we were served.The attitude of the waiter with B&B guests when we complained.The noises of plumbing or some type of machinery was disturbing.The water pressure from the shower could have been better and the lamps, lights and bedframe needed a dust.

Staff were very friendly, location was great.

Fantastic service from the staff and great food. The 5 course meal is superb value for money and offers a great variety of options (plus you can pick and choose which courses to have if you aren't stopping on a D,B&B package - which very reasonably priced!). Lovely surroundings and still just about accessible despite the heavy snow!!! The hotel is very relaxing and suits young and old alike.

The fish and chips was the best we have had anywhere in the lakes but we felt a little uncomfotable as we went in the fine dining room and aparently we should not have chosen the walk in menu, and this was pointed out to us, pity this as the food was excellent

We had room 1 next to the pool and the boiler did not heat the water and cold showering was not very pleasant we where offered another room to shower in but we had already washed using hot water from the kettle not very good for a room that had a rack rate £190 even though we only paid £75

We enjoyed a 1st class weekend. Hotel & staff perfect.

Very cozy and the room in the annex was spacious,good views of surrouding area, breakfast was very nice the staff were very polite but not intrusive would definately stay again

Not enough Snow on the hill tops (just kidding)

The bedrooms were extremely well appointed and comfortable. The pool was greatly enjoyed by our two children. The newly refurbished lounge area was particularly good with both comfortable and stylish furnishings. Breakfast was fabulous too.

A warm welcome was lacking on arrival.

値段が安く、お手頃感があります。ウィンダミアの中心地からは離れているので、落ち着いた感じがします。高- 台にあって、見晴らしも良いです。

もう少し部屋が広ければ、落ち着いて滞在できると思います。ホテルの造りが複雑で、部屋にたどり着くまで6- 回もドアを開けなければなりませんでした。

Very friendly staff, relaxing,very good breakfast, lovely room,very good steam room,sauna and pool, was made to feel welcome,didn't feel out of place being on my own, booked taxis for me which arrived immediately all round loved stayin

Be aware it's quite a steep walk to get back if out walking, for breakfast on first morning no table was set for me, they sit you and if you have evening meal that's your table for duration of visit, on second day somebody else was sat at my table so another had to be hastily set from a table with flower arrangement on it, I didn't get any jams, side plate or any butter which spooky the feeling of being looked after

Staff were excellent. Lovely room. Breakfast amazing. Good value for money.

Lovely location and views across Windermere and surrounding hills.
