Being 5 miles out of Stirling proved to be just what we wanted. It was a quiet location but more importantly allowed us easy access to the west coast of Scotland as well as Glasgow and Edinburgh.
very friendly owner and staff.Nice size room and the shower was excellent, always with a good flow and temperature did not fluctuate. Service was good and provided us with good breakfast and advice of what we wished to know about the area. Parking provided on premises
nothing we didn't like
Friendly and hugely knowledgable host.
Wi-if slow. Can't be helped in rural areas
John the owner was very nice and welcoming so were his family. Very clean and comfortable easy to get too as well. Breakfast was lovely in the morning very friendly and very good
ok but out of town
too hard to find, street unnamed, got lost a bit!!!
The host of this bed and breakfast is a very nice man that makes you feel at home immediately.
Very friendly host and comfortable lounges areas
bathroom light is automatic and came on regularly during the night
Spacious room and en suite. Good parking.
We were greeted by John, the owner, who was friendly and helpful.Well located for Stirling,Doune and Falkirk Wheel.A nice village pub a short drive away offered an excellent choice of meals.
John was friendly and seems to run Hillview cottage single handedly. He does a great job juggling everyones needs. The room was clean with a lovely view across fields and the ensuite modern.
You need to have your own transport if you stay at this B&B as there are no eating places within walking distance.
It was a very welcoming place to stay, the owner is a friendly knowledgeable man who was very helpful. The room was comfortable, the food good. A place I would reccomend if you need a place to stay.
John was very welcoming and helpful with restaurant and route suggestions. Pleasant warm atmosphere overall.
There was nothing we didn't like.
A nice comfortable room with everything we needed. We were made very welcome the host couldn't have done any more.
Nothing springs to mind other than you need a car to get around.
Everything needed was provided for. Host was friendly & catered for your every need. Lion & Unicorn Pub just up the road had a great evening menu.
Country environment, the feeling of home, peace and quiet.
No night meals.
The welcome and personal attention from the host who even met me at a bus stop without being asked. He could not have gone to more trouble. Breakfast was a treat.
Hillview's address is stated as Stirling. It is actually 6 miles outside of the city. Bus drivers don't know Kirk Lane which does not have a road sign name. Ask to be dropped off at Blair Drummond Community Hall. I wish I had known this in advance.
Friendly staff comfortable rooms, relaxed atmosphere, other guests friendly.
All good, may not suit all travellers due to distance to restaurants etc.
There was everything needed to make ones stay enjoyable. Jon is into high-tech equipment in the rooms which was entertaining at times. Personally I liked the one table breakfast arrangement as it promoted conversation between the guests. This was great whilst enjoying a well cooked and presented breakfast. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for Jon who always found time to help put the world right. I would recommend this accommodation as really good value for money.
Very nice place to stay, quiet, in the countryside, with all the facilities and new equipment. Tasty breakfast is served in a small dining room.
Be aware that you need car to go anywhere. There is nothing in the walking distance from this place.
Good location in the country with cows outside our window. Basic but clean room, good breakfast and very friendly staff. Excellent wifi signal strength.
Coffee at breakfast was from a machine, but not too bad.
EASY TO FIND, HELPFULL HOST
Interesting & friendly host. Nice modern room and excellent breakfast.
Outside appearance was a bit offputting when we first arrived
Not a lot
The Beds were very comfortable, good breakfast, Jon was very helpful.
The bedroom could have done with a mirror being situated in the room. Would have preferred table and chairs in the breakfast room .Rather than one long bench, especially if you have mobility issues.
