staff, large lounge, swimming pool, setting.
dirty gents toilets in lounge. cobwebs on bedroom windows. Carpets not v well cleaned. finding gents swimwear under doom chair. quality of the shower water head. Unable to connect kindle to wifi staff also.
The staff were very welcoming , polite and efficient. Location was quiet and very pleasant. The food was good, breakfast was excellent in quality and choice.
The super king size bed was somewhat hard and as a result we didn't sleep too well.
The outdoor seating terrace and green
The carpets along corridors and conditions of the hotel rooms were poor and run down
The staff were terrific - friendly and helpful. The surrounds were beautiful.
Lack of an elevator. The dated rooms. The creaking, wooden floor was horrible. The layout was a bit like a jigsaw puzzle.
we were pleased with every thing about our stay the Hotel and Grounds were fantastic and the staff are great.
The shower let the bathroom down, as the switch from shower to tap did not work. The batteries in the remote control were flat.
No bottled water or biscuits in the room
Loved the patio and swimming pools. We went specifically for a spa break. Plenty of appointments available. Treatments quite expensive though. Room was really clean and comfortable.
Staff and grounds
Very noisy due to wedding music and guests Breakfast was poor comapred to a year ago. Gone downmarket.
Room too hot with sash windows not working. Bed lumpy. Décor for a "deluxe" room very shabby and dated. Very disappointed.
Friendly staff. relaxed atmosphere. Attention to detail,
The attention shown to myself and Grandchild was exceptional. The kindness of the staff and professional service was wonderful. This is one of the best run hotels I have ever visited. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. The grounds are beautiful Everything was as one would hope and more. We will definitely be visiting again.
A few little dust bunnies in a few nooks and crannies but nothing too bad
staff were all wonderful; lovely grounds;
room was very small
Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent
Room rather tired.
The fact that they recognised my birthday. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was included in our room price.
Lack of lift, our room was on the second floor, and there were a lot of stairs to negotiate
Room we had was very cramped. Tried to upgrade but hotel full. Did not eat there as felt menu limited for the money. Staff excellent though and helpful.
Very friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner food pretty good. Nice indoor pool.
Bedrooms and bathrooms on the small side and slightly shabby. Beds in need of replacement. Busy and noisy hotel with constant doors banging at night and in the morning. Queue for breakfast and a wait for table at dinner even though booked.
Facilities & location good. The rooms we were in ( in The Lodge ) desperately needed some refurbishment although they were comfortable.
Some front desk staff were extremely rude & unwelcoming both to us & other guests. Far too expensive overall - we won't be going back!
The food both evenings and mornings were very good, with a vast breakfast buffet selection.
Group of rowdy lads staying, cursing and swearing outside each others rooms at 6.30 in the morning, but not the hotel's fault!
The appearance of the hotel itself and its beautiful grounds was excellent and worthy of a far more expensive room rate. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming both at reception and at the bar and catered for even unusual requests without it being any trouble. The toiletries provided were small but lovely, particularly the soap. The leisure facilities are excellent - if the weather ruins your chances of using the outdoor pool then the indoor pool is of a reasonable size for a hotel. The grounds are a strong point and the girls loved the fact that you could see sheep at very close quarters. The car park is plenty big enough for the no. of guests which was a plus as so often a stay can be ruined through the stress of trying to find a parking space. The beds were extremely comfortable although anyone who likes a soft mattress would not agree. My only regret was that we didn't try the afternoon tea which looked mouthwatering and overall we had a wonderful stay.
The rooms weren't ready for our check-in time but the complementary drinks voucher meant that it was no real hardship waiting the extra hour however had we had a longer journey or younger children then this could have been an issue. Travelling with 3 children, I would have liked to see a few slightly cheaper meal options.
Staff service was excellent reception, waiters(male /female)and the maintenance men in particular all were polite and helpful.
some of the furniture and wallpaper in the public areas needs attentions
The wether was bad
Rooms were nice and clean. The staff was very polite, friendly and extremely helpful (especially the front desk personnel). The buffet breakfast is a true winner: wide selection of delicacies, all for a reasonable price... hotel facilities (fitness, pool) and surroundings are very nice as well.
The so called "guest rooms" are way too small, and the room to which we were alocated was in the very back of the hotel, next to the laundry rooms/staff cabinets. The most dissappointing part is hotel's location: it is completely isolated from the town, and is practically inaccessible by foot. The only way hotel can be reached is by car, which was a problem for us given that we travelled by air and rail. Local taxis offer inconsistent rates (for the same distance), and the rates themselves are overpriced.
