Very quiet Excellent Room Excellent Breakfast We had 6 pillows
Husband would of liked a shower mat
It is in a convenient location for my visit. The rooms are spacious and clean enough. The staff are polite and helpful. There are sometimes good room offers and it is competitive with other hotels in the same area.
The room felt a bit cold to me and I couldn't work out the air conditioning unit. The quilt on the bed was thin and I had to double it up. There was no fridge and no safe. The ground floor at the hotel seems to have a musty smell about it which a few years ago was really strong but does now seem to be improving, although still there. The food is very average
The hotel needs an upgrade. It was just walking back in time.i used to live in Basingstoke and it's still the same.
a comfortable room, good facilities, fab brekkie but the staff were above all the friendliest bunch,Big thanks to claire and sarah who helped me during my stay. if you're staying in basingstoke this is by far the best place to stay!
bit old fashioned
- Good room layout. - Nice feel as you walk in. - Easy to find. - Room was clean and tidy, clear to see it was done with care.
- Bed was uncomfortable and highly noisy. - TV was slow and annoying to use. - View from windows was disappointing, court yard looked messy. Overall, for the price we paid, along with the reputation of Hilton, I can't say I felt satisfied with our experience. The hotel is found too far away from town and considering breakfast isn't included just made things worse.
No foam pillows available for my wife who has an allergy to feather pillows.Had to compromise and wrap feather pillows in bath towels !!!!
Good food friendly staff comfortable beds and bath
Too warm through the night
Breakfast was good, nice spacious bedroom with good size bathroom.
Mattress on bed made for a poor nights sleep, too firm.
having to pay for WiFi in the room , room was quite cold due to small electric heater in quite a large room. No biscuits with the tea/coffee , I would expect that indulgence in a 4 start hotel.
The staff were all very polite and helpful and the breakfast was good.
The bed and pillows was very uncomfortable and creaked every time you moved.
Children were very well catered for, playroom available and good choice of food for them. Made the stay much easier for us.
I booked a 2+2 room with Booking.com but when we arrived it was just down as a double room. The message from booking.com had obviously not filtered down to the hotel. Staff made up another bed for the kids so all was fine. But just wanted to feed that back.
Bed was very small, rock hard, and uncomfortable.
quiet location, easy to find cleanliness tea facilities in room
having to pay for wi-fi in your room
Warm, comfortable, welcoming, excellent dining in convivial surroundings
it felt a bit dated, it has been there a long time
The staff were exceptionally pleasant, helpful and apparently well motivated. The price was excellent at just over £50 for a double room (Friday night)
Bar and Restaurant. Good food and excellent service..
Upgraded to a deluxe room. Double was two singles pushed together so that one was along the wall. Only means of access was from the bottom of the bed or across the other occupier. Very tired decor
Good staff Excellent bathrooms
Good Staff quality of the place in the bar & lounge excellent bedroom Good choice of breakfast & fast check out
Parking area need better light otherwise None
Staff and food were great
This is the shabbiest Hilton I've stayed in. In real need of a total update.
The breakfasts were fabulous, and we loved having them in the conservatory - very pleasant outlook!
When we arrived, I had booked 4 rooms, three doubles and one family room. We were originally told that only 2 doubles and a family room were booked, according to the computer. However we were later able to provide the booking reference and everything was resolved.
Staff at front desk were very helpful and tried their best to help us, offered us a complimentary breakfast and bottle of wine which was very good of them but still does not get over the fact that they had given our room to someone else. Barman was very professional and the same with every member of staff we met.
When we went to check in at reception they said they had overbooked and our room was not available, they offered us a twin room or offered to find us another hotel. We had booked and paid months in advance and expected to stay in the hotel and room we had booked.
The breakfast was quite good.
The hotel in general is very old, especially the bathroom. Too expensive for what you get... don´t expect to be hosted in a "real" Hilton.
Old fashioned room style so terribly out of date in comparison to other Hilton Hotels The restaurant and bar glasses were bar type, in the restaurant particularly you need better ones
Very tired Toilet not working No lift Poorly trained staff Failed to deal with broken toilet A Hilton let down! Checked out one day early.
