Brilliant Location, Perfect Hotel and Facilities
First night the bed was very uncomfortable. Hotel managed to change our room so we had a better nights sleep the following night.
Parking was great , breakfast was first class, nice friendly and smiling staff
Mix up in actual cost of room booking, but was sorted out in the end
Breakfast was fantastic, the sea view was great, the spa was great.
Building works on sea front.
I had a terrible night's sleep as the rooms are unbearably hot, radiators are turned off and its impossible to open the windows more than a few inches- I needed the fan on maximum all night even though it was the middle of November. The rest of the room was maybe 2 star but not 4 star and not at the price charged. A complete rip off.
Location, facilities, food
Parking was awkward but it is in the centre of Brighton.
Location, breakfast, staff
Bathroom - shower didn't work. Room too hot, no Air Con
Staff friendly ,clean and tidy .nice lounge bar and seating area ,breakfast ok for a buffet style and very attentive waiting staff .fair choice of food and drinks ,all reasonably hot
The bedroom was poor ,it was supposed to be a king room ,it was like a sauna so I managed four hours sleep then I was walking around brighton to cool down at 4am.!!!! Bathroom very basic ,would expect better quality fittings etc and limited products for this type of hotel, good job we packed our own !!! No hot chocolate ,or any biscuits or water in the room and not sufficient tea and coffee ,had much better in b&bs ?they need to get their act together or they will lose a lot of custom for the prices that they want to achieve ,there's a lot better about for less money.generally not up to Hilton STANDARD that one would expect..
The location and a lovely building
Restaurant prices were rather high and the menu was quite limited. We had to change our order twice as they had run out of our first 2 choices. And our room was quite small and the bed was very uncomfortable.
Bad room overlooking car park with noisy industrial fans. It was our anniversary and my wife could not sleep because the air con was not working.
The hotel externally gives off the impression on grandure and is well situated,
The hotel stunk of cigarette smoke. The bedrooms and hallways would not look out of place in a downtown hostel. Sadly the hotel urgently requires serious investment to regain its early day elligance. I would only of a max of a £40 per night stay
Liked the position , the breakfast and the facilities
Having to pay to park my car especially as my son is disabled. Makes the room expensive and does not encourage me to stay at this Hotel.
Staff always helpful if a bit slow at times. Very helpful staff when we left a couple of things behind. Room clean and comfortable.
Breakfast is very expensive if not included in the room price. We had to ask for extra tea bags four times. The air conditioning wasn't working when we arrived but was fixed on request. The TV signal was poor. The fridge didn't work. The maintenance man said he would bring back a replacement but didn't return. Noisy room at rear east side if the window was opened due to large external air con units.
Excellent staff in all areas, very polite and helpful. Excellent food, breakfast was lovely and meals in bar where superb. Great location & very good conference facilities.
Room was a basic double, so was not expecting luxury, but room was very small rather tired. In need of refurb.
The very large bed, the nicely decorated room. Better view than the Grand next door, also nice smart room instead of the cold dismal room we had in the Grand. Lovely breakfast especially the freshly baked muffins we were offered. Lovely staff especially Victoria at the breakfast and the lovely concierge.
almost £15 for 24 hours wifi. This is absolutely ridiculous these days, cost next to nothing to set up, most places it is free , just a money making scam. When we asked for a password to use the wifi in the public rooms it took Victoria 15 mins to get it for us, then it was so weak it was unusable.
The hotel is perfectlypositioned .It has huge potential but lacks lustre and is impersonal.
The fact that despite booking 6 rooms only 5 were available when I and group of friends arrived for Hen Night. The booking had been mismanaged and no attempt made to make contact prior to arrival. Consequently the bride was upset and the event tarnished. When a room was finally offered it was cramped, stuffy and one night was one too many to stay in such a small room for two people to share.
No wifi in the room Room not enough heated and noisy aircon Generally noisy room at night
The position, and the staff on the whole were friendly and helpful
It is dark, tired and drab. The first room was so far from the lift ( we are both registered disabled) and was really a dark cupboard. Everything I had put on the reservation order was totally ignored. We will not return.
All very efficient
Bedroom furniture very tired and second rate Very small bathroom Only just a 4 * rating
poor noise isolation
No water in room View Hard bed Not enough soap, shampoo etc Price of car park is dear
The duty manager was unaware of the size of the room and at my suggestion agreed complimentary breakfasts to be included.
My double room (number 542), which cost £170.00 for one night was so small that the bed was pushed up against the wall and there wasn't space for my husband and I to walk past eachother in the remaining space between the bed, wardrobe and dressing table. The room was uncomfortably hot, but with no obvious source from radiators.
Room - very small.
The rooms (3) were tiny and tired looking. No Space in bathroom to put washbag other than on floor. We asked to change one room as so small. Aircon didn't work, clock didnt work, one light bulb gone and dead birds visible on netting over courtyard visible out of window. £17 is also very steep for a very standard breakfast.
OK with late check in
Worst room I have had - tatty and neglected. Door didn't lock from inside and in the morning even on floor 5 got horrible waft of cooking in the room. Even on a deal they should be doing something about those rooms. Sadly has put me off and I stay in Brighton a lot.
