We stayed at the Coylumbridge regularly when our own children were young and thoroughly enjoyed it, which is why I took our grown up children and grandchildren for my husbands 60th Birthday treat - it was awful!! We were not warned that the dining room would be closed for renovations during our stay, which meant everyone was hearded into the Cairngorm room for meals, queues reminiscent of school dinners!!. Snacks and drinks were exhorbitant, the rooms were outdated, woodchip, artex and ancient carpets, broken toilet seat & lights, clearly none of the profits have been reinvested!! I was embarassed to have taken my family to such a place. Even our favourite swimming pool had cracked tiles in the changing rooms and was compromised to sqeeze in a gym, probably to earn the Hilton a few more pounds. You used to feel special as a guest at a Hilton hotel, now you just feel exploited by their obvious greed!!

Excellent facilities for families. Kids aged 10 and under eat free and they help themselves to good selection at buffet - mince, battered fish, roast chicken, pasta, burgers, also selection of salad and cold meat, choc cake, jelly, yogurts, doughnuts and jugs of juice. Adults get to choose from menu and its table service. Remember and book you table though. Drinks expensive. I ordered a large glaas of pinot grigio on 1st night and it cost 8 pounds! If ordering latte in foyer it's expensive too at almost 4 pound for a small one. Didn't like price of drinks!

I enjoyed the space and the surroundings. The breakfasts were very good. The waiters were not up to standard. They did not ask us if we wanted any drinks. They lacked finesse and not trained to standard expected. We were asked if we wanted potatoes or chips but were not told that chips were in fact to be charged as an extra. The steak was cold. The advert is misleading. Yes there is a play area for children but it advertises this as a facility of the hotel but it is not free -have to pay for it. Drinks and coffees are inflated prices.

I paid a cheap price to stay here, I'm not sure I would pay the full rate to stay here. At times it felt like a nursery school, with many small children running around. The lack of free wi fi seems very strange in this technical age!

Lovely setting, nice modern hotel with good food and drink options. Very friendly staff. When we arrived at the hotel they got one of our room bookings wrong. They had allocated us a double instead of twin room. Our other room was certainly not a family deluxe room either as stated by the hotel reception at arrival. It was also far too "child friendly" with kids running around till late at night.

Good value, good location for exploring the highlands, nice food. This hotel is obviously marketed at families and I would not recommend it to people travelling without children. Although the children were well- behaved and friendly, the hotel did feel a bit like a nursery at times.

The Hilton Coylumbridge Hotel is set in a very pleasant and convenient location, ideal for viewing the beautiful surrounding countryside and varied local activities. The hotel has a very comfortable interior and the staff are all very pleasant and helpful. There was not always hot water to take a shower or bath.

Our booking was a last minute decision in order to be close to some of our family who were caravanning at Loch Morlich site. For this purpose and on this occasion the hotel was a good choice. Sat 30 July Service in Bistro excellent Sun 31 July Service in Bistro complete contrast: they seemed short of staff and harassed. We really do think that the Bistro is overpriced
