Score from 201 reviews Fabulous
Warm welcome, good food, peace and quiet
Christmas atmosphere friendly staff
lighting in room very poor, quite dim bath not cleaned after use, I had to clean it myself children running about in restaurant
Comfort of room and bed
It is very poorly lit round the hotel so unless you have a car you are very confined in the evenings. My starter of mackerel was raw and full of bones and I returned it. I ordered a glass of wine to have with my main course and this was not received until I had finished my main course even though the restaurant was not very busy. The main course advertises Stornaway black pudding so do not be confused this is not StornOway black pudding. I asked the waitress for clarification but she did not understand me. The meal did not contain Stornoway black pudding as I eat it regularly and it is a shame that a Hilton Hotel is trying to capitalize on a luxury name but using an inferior product. I told the receptionist who was very polite on checking out and she deducted the wine from my order and said that the complaint had not been registered. I find this very dissapointing.
the location is just great. all members of staff were very kind and helpful.
the bed was not very comfortable.
The hole thin
Great location - room nice. Good leisure facilities.
Food average. Parfait seemed store bought and cheap. Main course both chicken and beef were overcooked and dry.
Place to relax.
Bed a bit on the firm side for me. Shower could be better.
Peaceful, quiet & enjoyable.
I have been to Dunkeld House on numerous occasions, and have never been disappointed.
Ordered a bottle of water at dinner and it was lukewarm, but it was changed immediately.
Staff helpful. Food good. Breakfast choice good. Lovely setting.
Bed was a bit soft but that may just be me. Got the impression the staff in dining room felt pressured - short staffed?
The Reception was welcoming and very efficient as were most of the hotel staff. Any requests were attended to cheerfully and quickly. The general ambiance of the hotel very conducive to a restful stay which was the primary purpose of the break.
The dinner was disappointing in the extreme with mediocre food and poor slow service with up to 35 minutes between courses. My complaint on the first evening concerning my wife's meal was met with complete disinterest by waiting staff and management alike. I would mark the evening meals as 3 out of 10. Breakfast was excellent.
Lovely area, pool & sauna were nice & clean. Breakfast was brilliant, great choices.
Dinner service was a bit slow & the menu for the main course wasn't great.
Location, friendly staff and hotel decor.
Quality of food, drink prices, and really poor wifi for a Hilton.
Pay for wifi
Setting of hotel is wonderful Food was decent (dinner and breakfast)
Room was tiny despite paying for a double plus (whatever that was meant to be). Certainly wouldn't like to see the ordinary double! Restaurant was tatty Bedrooms, bathrooms and corridors need an urgent refurbishment
Location of the hotel is wonderful right on the bank of the river Tay. Ideally located for walks with an extensive 44 miles of local walks straight from the hotel door without needing the use of the car. Dunkeld is a lovely little town with excellent cafe's and pubs and great local folk music. Breakfast had an excellent choice of food.
the fishing, Dunkeld town, the walks, the log fires, the bar, the food, the bikes, the warm welcome, the wee dram at reception.
Nothing not to like
Meals, room, grounds all wonderful
We were next to the elevator so the clunking of that up and down all the time was very annoying.
Open fire lit some evenings.good choice for dinner and good standard.
the peaceful location
poor signs in dunkeld
The Food was excellent, the room was good, but the bathroom always smelt damp - no heated rail.
The service in the restaurant was very slow in busy periods, and staff looked lost and unable to cope. When booking was told that a bathrobe was included but had to ask for them as none were supplied.
Location food very good
Furniture in dining room needs replaced. Reception need more staff general makeover needed.
A return visit to a lovely comfortable family room with modern decor - not at all tired looking - and a great view to the front of the hotel. Facilities wonderful, staff friendly and helpful - happy to engage with a chatty 8 year old - which always helps!
