It's location is quite central for many activities, travel - (to and from) for, because of road and rail links, can be used to visit many parts of central Scotland and also Edinburgh and Glasgow. The hotel can be casual and formal at the same time which will suit the majority of lifestyles. Standard rooms can be a little cramped, but comfortable with good facilities. Service is excellent.

Having previously stayed at the hotel we really like the location, the staff and general look of the hotel This is not a hotel for a 16m old child! The pool was too cold and she was chittering away with her bottom lip blue but refused to come out, the earliest seating for dinner was 6.30 and she goes to bed at 7pm she got over excited and made a racket during the meal which I felt would have disrrupted other guests although the hotel staff were very good about it, we were sat at a table for two and had to put half the stuff on the floor so we could keep her plate out of reach and keep knifes and forks away from her. The Sunday morning staff were more helpful and gave us a bigger table

Nice ambiance with log fires in bar/foyer area and surrounding scenery fab, right on the banks of the river Tay. Good room and friendly staff. The curtains looked like they could do with a dry clean, what looked like old nicotene staining. Otherwise no complaints.

A group of 18 of us stayed for 2 nights and had an excellent time. Great food, great rooms and excellent service... Peter in the Dining Room, the Girls in the Spa & Monty at the Clay Pigeon Shoot were fantastic! We couldn't really fault anything - if there was one small criticism then it would be the price of drinks but I guess you know that when you book a Hilton. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to Hilton Dunkeld and we are looking forward to our next stay! Thanks!

Good location set in scenic grounds and good quality food. Quality of service variable depending on member of staff; some very good, some completely incompetent. Internet usage charge of £15 per day - should be free when paying £165-£200 per night for a room.

Breakfast staff were excellent but why is bacon sausage hash browns musnrooms tomato and everything that is pre cooked only warm just??This is a problem with most hotels ane I find it strange that no one has looked into this. Also most British people find it hard to complain about this. But I have to say you have excellent breakfast people cooking so maybe let them cook fresh and this would not be a problem.

Having visited the hotel over the last 40 years I feel it is in need of a refurbishment. The food was average for a hotel of this standing and fairly expensive.

Beautiful setting, very relaxing. We attended a wedding and it was superb. The pancakes at breakfast were a disgrace. Obviously from a packet and put in a microwave. One was so hard that I was unable to put my fork into it. Reccommend that you take them off the menu or at least make fresh ones.

My cousin got married in the grounds - beautiful. Lovely river nearby for walks, good swimming pool, putting etc. Drinks expensive, but expect that at a good hotel.

Ambience, staff were very good, helpfull and very polite. Attended a family wedding over a 2 day stay and it was all very well done. Spa and leisure facilities were excellent. Wasn't overly impressed with evening meal, main course portions were small and not good value for money. There was 14 at one table, this probably didn't help as some portions were quite cool. Meal at wedding breakfast was much better. Fellow guests seemed to be of the same opinion. Having said that the staff were first class.

I travelled with my two sons, 12 and 18. we all had a very enjoyable 2 day break. Our room was upgraded to a deluxe which faced out to the front of the Hotel and was very spacious, clean and modern, even a small balcony! We never had evening meals in the Hotel but chose instead to enjoy the stroll along the river path into the village. We did however make good use of the leisure facilities which were very good. The boys also enjoyed a game of tennis and we had a couple of games of pitch and putt. This Hotel is set in an idyllic location and if more money were to be invested into it to bring it up to a deluxe 4* or even 5* this would definately attract lots of interest for wedding bookings. All the staff including housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. Nothing really apart from some parts of the Hotel which looked a bit tired.

The location and the staff were the only positive attributes The room was not clean, the "double bed" was no more than 2 singles poorly adjoined, the leisure facilities were outdated and when we booked to do archery we were later told that the member of staff was on holiday "that day" thus adding to our frustrations

Location & setting, Excellent breakfast. Same limited dinner menu every night - very repetitive - lack of vegetables with dinners. Resorted to bar snack menu every night. Paid for upgraded room which said 'included internet access' - 'access' being the key word - it didn't mention an additional (high) charge to actually use it! Would stay again but on bed & breakfast basis.

“A very nice cosy hotel with friendly staff, good food and reasonably priced. It was a lovely warm comortable place to be after being outside in the cold weather, with comfortable armchairs to sit in front of the fire in. I have stayed there quite a few times and have had the same friendly and polite service every time.” David, Northallerton |
