being treated worse than an animal expecting to sleep in such smelly conditions, and this was an upgrade Ahhhhhh
The staff were so helpful, they could not do enough to assist, this on top of ideal location and easy to travel to airport
The bed we slept in seemed more like a single bed than a double. We have been in large rooms before, but that bed was too small never slept all night .
Located right next to a major train station, quiet location.
The carpet was dirty in areas and sights of wear and tear throughout the hotel
Very comfy room and marvellous breakfast as always
Really nice hotel, really nice decor and worth paying a bit extra for the bigger room. It is a 15/20 walk into town, actually very handy after drinking and stuffing yourself silly! Hotel staff very nice
Location was a small walk from all bars and restaurants. Local bus and tram service right near hotel direct to centre and zoo.
Got the room right oppersite the lift so was a lot of noise of people arriving home after us on night, also loud music playing from downstairs. Bed was very squeaky and not very comfortable.
room and bed were on a slant, massive gap under door with bad draft, bathroom had dirt rings on sink, also door was broken, had the maintenance man banging on door at 9am.
The only thing that we liked was the location of the hotel
Even at 3.30 in the afternoon, the hall carpets and lift floor needed vacuuming. There were empty bottles, rubbish, dirty plates on trays left outside some of the bedrooms. The decor in the hallways was tired. Although the booking was for a compact room, it was a tiny room, with a smallish double bed up against the wall, one bedside table and lamp. On complaint, we received a free upgrade and the next room was fine though the bathroom was an awkward size, the bath was slippery and the grab handle on the wall had pointed edges. I learnt later that there were other hotels in the vicinity offering lower rates where the rooms and hotels were clean and well decorated. I could not recommend this hotel to anyone else.
Very good position, big and clean room, kind staff
Nice cosy room, Nice staff, umbrellas to borrow. Much better than expected when reading some reviews the day before.
No free Wi-Fi, not the most important but for that type of hotel it is quite surprising.
nothing to stay
The staff were very nice and the reception area was good.
The room we were allocated was no better than a big cupboard and the bed was not a full size double, and the walls were paper thin, you could here EVERYTHING going on in the next room. I have stayed in Hilton Hotels in many countries ,but this is the worst i have ever stayed in and in my home country as well. I will never stay in this hotel again and would advise you to give it a miss.
Location was good. A 10 min walk to princess st or 2 min walk to tram station. Room was very clean and staff were professional, friendly and efficient. Reduced rate for parking in NCP at castle terrace (£10 24hrs). Don't even think about trying to park near hotel. It's all permit only or limited stay but no need to use car as buses and trams are great.
Room was lower ground looking out on to some back yard and not in main hotel which was on other side of road at the other end of the street.
Location to transport excellent 10 minutes walk to bars and restaurants
Tired carpets and pillows
Our room's bathroom was very old, it definitely needs to be renewed and it isn't cosy at all.
We were waiting over an hour to be able to be checked in as we were told the room wasn't ready. However we were offered a cup of tea whilst we waited, though after a long journey it wasn't really good enough.
Good value for money, decent room
wasn't a bath, however this was probably unrealistic considering the price paid. bed was a little squeaky
Big spacious room, located near the city centre.
Poor customer services, looked us up and down as though we were not the right kind of people to be in their hotel. Smelly room, not a pleasant smell. Situated opposite the service elevator and woken up at 7.30am.
good location to start a visit to the Edinburgh old town quiet in the streets during the night value for money is correct for the room
price of breakfast too high so we had breakfast for half of the price outside; the water in the sink didnot flow which is not very comfortable (we were told this was due to the old building and could not be repaired)
LARGE COMFORT BEG, VERY CLEAN,
THE BREAKFAST IS NOT INCLUDING
The location was excellent, the breakfast was brilliant!! Staff where extremely polite and helpful. Very clean, comfortable hotel!!! Definitely stay again!!
Our en-suite bathroom although adequate, very modern and clean, was very compact. Our bed was very noisy and not very comfortable to be honest.
Location and view was lovely room interior was nice too
Bed was so uncomfy I woke up with a sore back. No bath towels. Carpet was covered in mud. Alarm clock was covered in dust! And room key didn't work initially and was made out to be stupid when we went back to reception to fix it. Premier Inn puts this 4 star Hilton to shame!! Never again!
the staff were very friendly, and very very help full
the hotel looked in need of some upgrading
The bed was very comfortable, the room well heated and the breakfast had a very good choice. The Hotel is in a very good location and we had a very enjoyable stay there and would go back.
The Hotel was very busy but that is to be expected
