Score from 486 reviews Very good
Friendly and efficient staff. Nice clean comfortable room. Food was good.
No biscuits in the room. Would have preferred the hotel to be more central location(nearer the train station). Food was good but felt the menu was a little limited. Spa facilities would be a bonus!
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Room was spacious, modern, comfortable and clean. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Wifi wasn't free for standard guests which is unusual these days. Poor phone signal in the bar.
The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Restaurant was nice with good food- breakfast was ok. The spa and gym were nice and it's handy to have them to use. Lovely big bed
The rooms very plain and simple. Bathrooms not very nice. The bed and pillows were quite uncomfortable - but that maybe just down to our personal taste. Limited TV channels. The pool is too small to use for a good workout swim.
Staff were amazing and saw to our every need they provided us with ice bucket and ice for our drinks that we had brought with us plates knives forks for our take aways extra pillows spa pool and pool lovely they could not do enough
Nothing all good
Had an electrical problem in my original room which was sorted out out by the staff, who were all very attentive and considerate to make my stay a success.
Ventilation in bathrooms
staff very friendly and helpful
to be honest I don't think there was anything I disliked
The overall experience
Found that the bar prices were expensive
Mushroom soup was excellent and the breakfast offer was first class, restaurant staff were on top of a noisy bunch that were spoiling the atmosphere in the dining room that one would normally expect in a Hilton
The hotel needs a thorough revamp and redecorate...it's a bit flaky round the edges when you look closely
Staff were friendly and helpful. Changed my room without any problems immediately.
First room given on the ground floor was poor, there was a faint smell of sewage upon entering the room , had peeling wallpaper and very old fashioned furniture. The room offered after complaining was better. Towel quality is quite thin, also poor water pressure in the shower.
Soft bed Good location close to city centre/ikea
Rooms a little dated (102) Speed bumps
I picked up this booking for 8 days on a special and thought I got a great deal for a Hilton for the price. The hotel was ideally located for me, there are great facilities like a pool and gym.
Firstly they asked for a huge security deposit for 'incidentals' I never used any but still! The room was rather tatty, dirty, the sheet in my bed was torn, the bathroom felt old and everything felt dated. I was disappointed as I have always felt that a Hilton kept a certain standard and this hotel felt more like a tired old independent hotel than a big international brand. I will not stay here again unless I get a great deal, if you want standard quality stay somewhere else.
Staff were helpful on the whole and tried to sort out the fact that the bedside light didn't work, however failed to manage it
The meal deal of £18 for two courses seemed to confuse the staff in the restaurant who hadn't heard of it! It was clearly advertised at reception
Friendly Staff and Stunning Room!!! Best sleep I have ever had :) I loved my food (breakfast was simply divine!)
The TV didn't work in our room. ASK ABOUT YOUR FOOD!!! My other half ordered a baked cheese cake with raspberry sauce (exactly what it said on the menu), but when it arrived, it was laced with black cherries!!! My bf hates cherries and did not expect them to be there as the menu did not mention it at all and the staff were surprised when we told them about it.
The pool is nice.
We had booked this hotel expecting the quality that we normally see from Hilton, however we were disappointed. The hotel is very old and is in need of refurbishment especially to the bathrooms and the breakfast spread was lesser than what you'd normally see in such hotels.
The staffs are polite and friendly, the service was excellent. There was lots of parking space available.
I notice the bed was very noisey, there wasn't any shower jelly in the bathroom. Lots of loud sex noise coming from the couple next door,it kept us up most of the night.
Good sized TV, ironing board with iron, good sized twin beds, lovely view from the window of grass and trees.........
Only 1 spare socket when the TV and lamp were plugged in. Around the bath -grout - is starting to look a bit shabby !!!!!!
The smell of cigarettes that even permeated the bed linen and the grubby looking limescale stained bathroom.
room was adequate not great for the money stayed in better
We checked in very late with young children, reception made this very quick so we could get to the room as soon as possible. The kids eat free at breakfast which was to a very high standard. Staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Car park is well covered by cameras for security and a bit more peace of mind.
The loo had a leak around the base and shower was a bit weak.
Comfy beds, very soft pillows
Lack of sockets, none by bedside, dates room. Tired decor. Needs a refurb
The swimming pool
The bed was broken and no matter where i tried to sleep i rolled into the massive dip in the bed, and when I reported it to the reception desk, there were not bothered at all
Nice big bed
Breakfast, Room (right above main entrance) & pillows (too small)
Clean and comfortable
