Staff very friendly and service in the restaurant very good

Shower in room would not get very hot

Breakfast was very good and staff were helpful, rooms very comfortable and the lounge/reception/dining area much improved by the refurbishment recently. Was all looking very smart.

Friendliness and ability to solve problems and the same time made us feel very comfortable and willing to recommend it. Staff was very kind and efficient. We dined in twice and it was a nice experience as well. Very nice breakfast

First of all I am still trying to clear the preauthorization that Hilton put on my card, and blocked my limit! I have contacted the finance department, still no solution! I have paid my room with another card, and still they can't sort it out! It has been over a week, nothing changed! Have they forgot to cancel the preauthorization? Do they have a right to block my card with such an amount? I am not pleased with such attitude. ALSO, the facility doesn't have a lift so if you are with child and lots of luggage, not the best place to stay.

fantastic breakfast and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Pool area was so clean and water lovely and warm in pool itself. Our children and us really enjoyed the pool experience.

Smoking area needs a little bit more attention.

the breakfast was lovely cooked and presented well with a great choice. the staff were friendly and helpful the rooms were comfortable spacous and clean have already booked to return in august.

We had a better room than last time, cleaner and better, the staff were very friendly, and answered any questions we had.The bed was comfortable and large.

The high prices of drinks and the food, it was cheaper to eat out, also the fan in our bathroom did'nt work, I will stay again, as long as I can still get the room on a cheap deal. Room 241

Pool although cut off time for children at 7.30. Also not mentioned while booking.

Wasn't child friendly and was jammed full of business personnel. Deluxe family room was a makeshift office space with beds! Website quoted free wine and water in room. We we're told this was no longer their policy and promised drinks vouchers. It took 3 conversations to eventually get our drinks and by that point I was embarrassed by it all. Room is overpriced for what you get. Much better off at a child friendly Premier Inn.

Not very organised during the Saturday breakfast meal plates left on tables and various foods and drinks had run out. Which by the time they had been refilled we had finished eating

Room had a bad stagnent smell,windows had to be left open for the duration of our stay. Restaurant was expensive for the quality provided £7 starter (poor) £20 steak (poor quality ) deserts £7 (very poor) .Bar & Food really 3 star hotel standard charging 4/5 prices.

Having to carry two large suitcases up the stairs myself given there isn't a lift.

Convenient location (we were visiting Newbury to see relations), comfortable bed, good breakfast; good price (weekend deal).

Staff not very attentive or friendly (many of them foreign with poor English or Brit but poorly trained); the hotel needs a refurb - it's 25 years old and little has been done since - (typically) the extract fan in our bathroom was not working so the room has a stale (even foul) odour..

The hotel was easy to find, welcoming and comfortable! The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The spa facilities are fairly basic but it was nice to have a swim and sauna as an added bonus.

The hot tub was heavily chlorinated and made your eyes sting, the bottled water in the room is charged at £3.95, otherwise I couldn't fault our 1 night stay!

Ideally located for our purposes : visiting Highclere Castle and shopping in Newbury. Good food. Privacy.
