    Although there was a problem with my reservation, the Manager on Duty (Nicola Keel) went out of her way to solve the issue. Her focus was purely customer care and satisfaction and she achieved this with consummate ease. Please provide this sincere feedback to Nicola and her manager. Thank you

    Generally very nice.

    The chairs in the room were dusty and the hoover had not seen under the bed for ages. The beef at the carvery was very tough, For £24 a meal I expected better!

    Staff in the restaurant and bar were very good, polite and helpful

    Check in time is stated as 15:00 but we had to wait until 15:45 until we could actually get in. Cleaning staff did a good job but were slow and all the corridors were strewn with towels, sheets and laundry. Get extra staff if the ones currently employed can't get through the workload in time.

    The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size with space to sit at a table. The windows had additional noise reduction shutters which eliminated most of the nearby traffic noise. Breakfast was satisfactory. We picked the Hilton because of its close proximity to Highclere Castle where we were attending the Battle Proms (a very good evening and to be recommended if you haven't been to this event). We had an easy drive from the Hilton to the venue and it was nice to be back ready for bed 10 mins after the event ended.

    The bath was a bit tired and the sink had a crack in it unfortunately. However, overall the bathroom and shower facilities were satisfactory.

    The facilities were good and the breakfast staff were lovely.

    The en-suite required some maintenance (paint peeling and looking generally tired) and cleaning. Found hair and soap scum in the sink plug hole. Our booking was entered incorrectly so sofa bed was not made up (this was rectified quickly but after 9.5 hours travelling it was unwelcome). The staff tried to blame Booking.com and although this may be true, I found it unprofessional and totally unnecessary. Our card was precharged, as agreed but with the wrong amount so we had to pay the difference when we checked in. I found the check in staff a little sharp and although we were given some free drinks vouchers for the inconvenience, after a long drive it was the last thing I expected. All in all I expected more from a 5* establishment.

    No A/C. no tea or coffee facilities in rooms. Old and run down. It was pretty weak !

    Nothing was too much trouble, especially for Daniel he went out of his way to be helpful

    There was hot water coming from the cold tap. I reported it to the young lady on duty in reception and she came and felt it as well. \she reported it to her manager, he came along to see what he could do. but it didnt happen while he was there.

    The restaurant, staff and complimentary goodies! The Pool! Great relaxed atmosphere!

    The bathrooms need a bit of tlc, they don't look like a 4* hotel at the moment.

    The reputation is well known for quality. Based on the venue it was great but with a few flaws that you would not expect from your chain.

    The value is not in line with what I got - the shower head was broken, a fundamental problem that anyone cleaning ect would spot. The water temperature was poor in winter this will be a problem for others. The bed was not as comfortable as I would have expected. It was a lumpy mattress under the mattress topper which did not really serve its purpose. I have stayed with you at the same venue before and would like to continue to do so but not with the same problems!

    I had to change rooms twice as the cleanliness was inadequate and not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel! The bathroom was filthy and the bed had tow nail clippings on it!

    The pool and the ease to get a taxi

    We books two twins but were given a twin and a double, the bar was under staffed in the day,and the tried to charge us almost double the price we were quoted.

    I booked 6 double rooms, checked in at lunchtime when we returned in the evening they didn't have a record of one of my friends, then gave them our room so we didn't have a room. Had to wait for about an hour too find our room. It was shambles you should put more staff on when there is a Race Meeting.

    The room details on our booking confirmation stated we would have '.....a small bottle of wine, chocolates.....' in the room - neither were present. The room and the hotel felt dated and rather dirty, just through age. It was an expensive stay at £184 for the night with no breakfast - we didn't wait and pay for breakfast....refused to give Hilton any more of our money! Disappointing stop off for us, considering we'd come from a lovely hotel in Tunbridge Wells and followed it with a lovely stay at a Best Western in Windermere. Hilton have let themselves down badly with this hotel.

    The breakfast

    The bathroom with a broken sink and struggling to adjust the water temperature. Require to refurbish the rooms because it's getting old The bedding can be better quality

    Very friendly staff, lots of good facilities and good access to main roads for days out. Rooms are of a high standard which makes the stay comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommended !!!
