Staff are mostly friendly and helpful (although the Spa staff are not overly welcoming). Breakfast is lovely with chef on hand if you want to request additional choices. Central location of hotel for Sheffield City centre.
Initially given a room with a broken toilet seat. Some aspects of the rooms look shabby, but not in a "chic" way. No free WiFi. Spa treatments
I loved the location, the comfort of the hotel and the 20m swimming pool.
The noisy group who were shouting in the corridor at 2.45am but it was the weekend before Christmas and we were warned about the party.
Staff are always good here
Previous I have stayed in the double rooms, this time a single twin. The difference was noticable, carpet a little tired, went to make note from telephone call= no pad or pens? A small thing but no biscuits as in other times (un important)
A very reasonable hotel with a good location very close to the centre of Sheffield
Bar prices, - wow!
Hello me and my girlfried stayed in the hilton sheffield to celebrate our 3rd year together the room was ok. The bed was not very comfortable at all the pull out sofa bed was broken and the helper that came in was struggling to speak any english but informed us there was nothing he could do also the tvs reception was very very poor which he also said he couldnt do anything about it. We ate in the downstairs bar which the food tool over 50 minutes and was cold and dry when served . We paid 150 pounds for the room and we actually thought most premier inns we have stayed in for under £50 were better all in all we dont think because off this experiance we will ever stay in a hikton again we were bitterly dissapointed.
The double, double room was spacious with two comfortable double beds. The room was a good temperature and the bathroom well stocked. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful.I would definately stay again.
The charge for wi-fi was £14.99 a night and the car park was £6. I thought this should be complimentary for guests. There was free wi-fi in the public areas of the hotel but not in the bedrooms. There wasn't any bottled water in the rooms, which would've been a nice gesture.
Restaurant service was not good. I would not take a client there again. The general ambience of the restaurant and bar area is poor, rather cold and basic. Sound insulation between rooms poor.
I smoking rooms and very rude staff
The swimming pool.
You could hear the noise coming from a party next door, sleepless night.
The professional, approachable and friendly staff throughout my staff - nothing too much trouble. Great facilities and staff and personalised approach.
Nothing that I would note as "not like".
Pool Gym Helpful staff member whilst checking in.
Loud live band until gone midnight keeping children awake. Complained but nothing done. Broken handle to window meaning it wouldn't close properly. Very expensive mediocre food.
Noisy neighbours When complained was only offered 25% off one night No one approached the room to ask the other guests to keep it down
Service in dinning room was slow
Great size room and bathroom Staff helpful Pool facilities great 10minute walk in to city centre
The room we were in was next to the stair well and lift which was quite noisy at times and the door wasn't soft closing!
The receptionist was so helpful. The rooms were lovely and breakfast really nice.
Facilities at he hotel looked good, although I didn't really use any of them as I was there for a wedding and overnight stay. Reasonably good location within Sheffield, and 50/50 chance of a view (we got the carpark)
Room floors were dirty, along with cups and hallways. No spare pillows in bedroom, bed uncomfy and quite suprised there wasnt a fridge in the room. Price of the stay was rather excessive for what we recieved in my opinion. CAUGHT STAFF EATING FOOD THEY WERE ABOUT TO SERVE US WITH THEIR BARE HANDS...groom really wasn't inpressed and requested replacement food items that had been touched, which were gratefully recieved along with a sincere apology
Our second stay at this hotel, both visits were to see a concert at the arena. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Sheffield railway station, and the nearest tram stop is only a 5 minute walk away from the hotel, which takes you to the arena. Excellent breakfast too
rooms smelt nice and reception looked very nice with Christmas decoration
the key card to access lift was an absolute pain. I stay in hotels all over the country and I just found it very annoying. The cost of the wifi is shocking £15 for 24 hours! And the complementary wifi in lounge is only for an hour. Most hotels now even in central London provide free wifi and for the price of the room I was expecting it to be included.
We arrived at the Hilton Sheffield after a 2 hour drive to find they had double booked our room so we had to leave the hotel and stay at the Hampton. This is not what you expect to find on arrival at what is supposed to be a top hotel
It it right in the city center so easy walking distance to local attractions. Nicely located on a canal. Breakfast was nice, good selection and freshly fried eggs also staff at breakfast seemed friendly. Iron and ironing board in room.
First staff we met on reception wasn't very friendly or welcoming and after she confirmed with us we had asked for a smoking room she told us they didn't have them anymore then changed the number of our room, we were originally meant to be in 403 but this was changed to 416 which is on the other side of the corridor to the rooms facing the canal so we were stuck with a view of the car park and road. We were booked in for a 'Dulux Dounle Room' The room was ok but nothing special been in nicer holiday inns before. No tea or coffee facilities in room or a hairdryer. There were two bottles of sparkling water in the room but who likes spsrkling water really? The 32" TV was fuzzy and out of focus and the alarm clock was an hour fast! The pillows smelt dirty like greasy hair and the duvet and pillows were what seemed to be duck feathers which isn't really to everyone's liking. No air con in room which seems quite old fashioned.

Concierge had no idea how to direct us to centre of Sheffield No bottled water in room Bathroom is very tired
the evening meal
nightmare to find signage for the Hotel very poor.
This is a lovely hotel, clean and comfortable with good facilities. Only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Sheffield. Highly recommended.
All was average
Like all Sheffield hotels, (I stay in them all!) some of the staff try hard, but the attention to detail is poor compared with good international hotels. Mould around bathroom fittings, mug rings on surfaces, hard laundered old towels, worn carpets in some places, etc etc. Sheffield hotels don't need to do more to be adequately full all year round, so they don't. And regular visitors, like me , have no choice.
