a very pretty area very relaxing. The food was very good.
there is no free internet and the cost of obtaining internet is in my opinion to high. we had to wait quite some time to be seated for both an evening meal and breakfast.
Staff were very sociable
Good size room, nice grounds, friendly staff, good breakfasts, good wifi.
ordered room service dinner - very expensive and very average. would not recommend.
Breakfast was excellent!
We had booked a double deluxe plus room and were very disappointed. Only one bedside lamp and the furniture in bedroom was very shabby. The bathroom was also 'past its sell by date' and in need of a total refurb. No wi-fi in bedroom. Childrens 'play' area by staircase should have been contained to a room as very small children were running around screaming and yelling late evening whilst we were to chill on sofas in public area.
Meets minimal quality standards you can expect from a Hilton
Staff is just correct friendly, but not more than that Bar/restaurant service is poor/slow "Spacious family room" turned out to be just a standard room with two (barely) double beds Strong urine smell in room after showering Basic restaurant/meal quality for high hotel price
Was upgraded to one of the refurb rooms Refurb room looked exactly like the Aviator Hotel rooms - very polished Room was perfect, luxurious and comfortable. Check out time is 12pm. Even with a wedding on, my room was extremely quiet. Plenty car park spaces Bar staff were very apologetic - not their fault though - they were doing very well considering the limited number of people serving.
Not enough people working at the bar. Waiting 10 mins to order a meal.
Lovely communal areas, plenty of comfy seating. Lovely views from the conservatory.
Bed could have been bigger!
Conservatory and patio on the lawn
The air conditioning was not working. We had to move on return from the races.Having to wait to be called to have breakfast.09--10am time
everything was done without any trouble. We came away looking forward to our next visit.
I thought that the afternoon tea that we had was poor. One round of sandwiches, two very tiny wraps and two tiny pieces of toast with egg filling.two scones, cream and jam,and four tiny sponge cakes. For two people for £24 we thought it was expensive. It did include tea.We felt it needed more savory.
It was a very good hotel for the price
The shower head was broken which made taking a shower quite difficult as you had to hold the head in one hand. Believe that must have been like that for some time. Otherwise very happy with our stay
Lovely Room Comfortable Bed Great Breakfast
Busy hotel with weddings, events, etc. Lobby and front desk rather hectic, so service not very efficient at times.
The fact that we were allocated a room well away from a wedding reception that was taking place at the time of our visit.
The bathroom was tired and needs upgrading. I hate to see sauce bottles on dining tables in what is supposed to be an upmarket hotel. Bar drink prices overpriced.
They did every thing possible to mAke the time comforting.
Nothing to dislike.
Noise from wedding party. Bedroom furniture looking a bit tired.
From the minute we walked into the reception room we knew we were going to have a good comfortable stay and were so right. The staff were all so friendly. The room was clean and a lovely size and had everything we needed...hair dryer, iron, ironing board, safe, kettle etc. The bed was comfy and we had a good nights sleep. We had dinner and that was brilliant! Breakfast was good too with a good variety of foods. When we are back in the area, we will be back.
Quiet Location Very comfortable bed Great breakfast Helpful Staff
Jam jar of dirty water on bedroom window sill! Why?? No coffee (only tea) in bedroom, but receptionist found me some immediately.
The refurbished room was very nice- clean and contemporary. Buffet breakfast was good too. Large, pleasant garden to overlook whilst having a drink.
There was a wedding on the night we stayed which in itself wasn't a problem but didn't appreciate having to walk through a cloud of smoke outside the main entrance from all the wedding guest smokers who had congregated there. The hotel staff did nothing to move them to one of the dedicated areas.
Free Wi-Fi for 24 hours Restaurant staff - friendly and efficient. Room I stayed in was perfect - large, clean, with kettle, good size tv, bath, shower. Very quiet room - heard no noise Good wine list Excellent deal on room rate as I booked well in advance through Booking.com (£45.00) Bed was comfortabl
Reception staff were non discreet - and loud when dealing with a customer in front of me whos card declined. Half the view from my window was a wooden gate - the other half was concrete. Waited over 10 mins to check out in the morning - only 2 guests in front of me. Gave 10% tip after meal and bottle of wine - wasn't appreciated or thanked for. This hotel apparently has been refurbished - other than the rear garden having extra tables and chairs and a gazebo - I couldn't see what had been updated.
Lovely lawns, feeling of outdoor space. Bar & restaurant area done nicely Spacious room
Decor in room looking a big tatty
Polite staff and service.
There was nothing to dislike.
very accommodating for our young son to stay with us and away from the bustle of the bar Huge clean room, friendly staff
Upgrade to Club Room - very well and recently decorated.
Kids play area should be moved away from the bottom of the stairs in the main lobby.
Easy to find and close to major routes. Nice standard of furnishings seemlessly blending period manor house with modern facilities. Staff helpful. Good choice at breakfast although ran out of pancakes. Lovely grounds albeit minimally maintained.
Stayed at the same time as a noisy wedding party so disturbed much of the night. Didn't find the tea making facilities (hidden in bottom draw of bedside table) until the following morning.
Good room, good breakfast, useful to have an iron and trouser press
would like bottled water to be available in the room
