In the heart of historic York, this Hilton has 2 bars, 2 restaurants and is across from the ancient Clifford's Tower. Modern rooms, each with a flat-screen TV, are close to the Jorvik Viking Center. With pay movies, tea/coffee facilities, a sitting area and radio the stylish rooms are also well-equipped. Each bathroom has free toiletries and a hairdryer, while some rooms enjoy views of the Tower. Henry J. Bean’s bar/restaurant serves drinks and Tex-Mex food in a relaxed atmosphere. Local and European cuisine and a range of wines are offered in the elegant Tower’s Restaurant. York Train Station and the impressive York Minster Cathedral are both a 10-minute walk away. In the immediate area of the hotel there are restaurants, bars, stores and the Grand Opera House. the rooms were lovely, and food vert nice. the pillows were very uncomfortable came home with bad neck. also car parking fees too much(34.00 for 2 days) and a scratch on the front too!

Location perfect for all attractions.clean comfy room ,veiw from room good. Breakfast & restaurant food very good. Staff friendly & helpful. We will stay at the Hilton again when we visit York again The grill bar( can not remember the name) reccomended by the hotel around the corner of the Hotel was an absolute disgrace.We have had better food at a road side cafe.We will advise all our freinds never to eat here,even if it was free. Yuk.

excellent hotel went for weekend break for my partners 50th birthday. had a great time. staff were very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. bedroom was lovely, with good view of cliffton tower. although we were in the centre of the city very little noisy could be heard from people passing the hotel. breakfast was served from 7-11am both sat & sun so we could have a lie in. the full english breakfast buffet style was excellent with the chef cooking fresh egg as requested. the hotel atmosphere was warming. check out time was great as we didn't have to rush to depart it was 12 noon. the only negative thing i could say was the car parking was expensive £17 per night, and if you weren't going in your car over the weekend the hotel would park your car off site in secure car park 1/2 a mile away, so you had to make sure you took everything you needed out of the car. you also had to give 20 minutes notice before you needed your car.

I have stayed at the York Hilton on several occasions. The staff are very well trained, couldn't be more helpful, and very friendly. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent although our breakfast was not included and I thought it quite expensive. The location is perfect and within walking distance of most attractions, and our room was quiet with no traffic noise.

Parking was one important thing, the settee was great and the location excellent A small double bed, the shower had very low pressure and was intermittent with hot and cold water. The parking and drinks were excessively expensive

Location The thing that was very disappointing was the fact that my wife went to make us both a cup of coffee and plugged the kettle into the socket. However the pug didn't have the casing attached (was missing) and the wires to the plug were exposed. When she plugged the plug into the socket she got an electric shock which caused her to scream and left her with a large red burn mark on her right thumb. Staff attended and took pictures of the plug but we felt that due to the 'reputation' and price of the hotel - things like this shouldn't happen to guests.

Everything. We have stayed here before and again another fantastic break. Hotel staff all extremely polite and friendly especially the lady chef waiting on at breakfast. Best ommellettes ever!!!!

Very little - the fact we were staying only the one night perhaps. Room was very tired and not clean - standard akin to a low 3 star hotel at best - certainly not a hotel I would correlate to 4 star status

Great location in the centre of York Own parking The hotel is somewhat tired- flush hanging off in bathroom and other things similar. Very limited tv channels -probably to encourage you to buy movies (some that were 10 year old!) at £10! It was just ok, expected more from the Hilton. Ok for location but overpriced.
