Staff tried to be helpful. Agreed with all complaints & reduced bill by 50% on checkout. We checked out after 2nd night when problems could not be resolved.
Beds- old, worn, uncomfortable. Room- peeling wallpaper, dirty carpet, filthy windows, toilet seat broken, odd taps fitted wrong way round, broken soap holder, chipped bath, not enough space here to finish list. Restaurant- food is very low standard but quite high price, sticky filthy carpet, cold seating by (dirty) windows. Breakfast- have to make your own tea/coffee, cook your own toast with 1 domestic (slow) toaster. Very limited range of fruit. Booking- paid extra for an "executive" room which was a smaller bed than a normal double room, only thing extra was a settee! Just a worn out, scruffy, dirty, old hotel in dire need of a drastic refurb & better trained cleaning staff.
Friendly Reception/Restaurant Staff, Good sized room, and very good breakfast.
Continual drip from shower over the bath. Room and decor in need of an update, upholstery on chairs/bed settee in need of a clean. A lot of noise throughout the night, mainly from the carpark, and then woken up at 07.00am by staff moving the waste bins around.
Four poster yes, but not the room shown on website. No chandelier. No view. Décor drab. Felt oppressive. In spite of our reporting fault, shower water slow to clear and some back flow- not fixed in the time we stayed there. Tap on sink constantly ran; what a waste of water... Again, not the pristine bathroom we had anticipated from the photo's
Location & comfy beds. With plenty of hot water.
Been going to this hotel for 8 years. Every time we comment about the cold radiators. Still no change. At least we had an electric fire this time. Also no biscuits with the tea facilities. Little things can mean a lot.
The staff were very good and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was also very good. If we were in that area again we would stay there again
The central heating was off. They were waiting for it to be repaired. It was a cold November night and the room was very cold. The Hotel was tired and could do with a bit of sprucing up
The family room had a secluded area for children with TV which kept children in their own area happy. This gave adults security of knowing that the young ones were safe and happy. Good breakfast. lashings of hot water!
Hotel was situated on a busy road.
Stayed for 2 noghts, the staff were friendly and the room was pleasant, the food was excellent, the fish i had was fresh and very large and it was quiet
One tv in the room was faulty but we had another that worked, the price of lager was a bit high!
Good location,good restaurante
Bed very bad, needs a complete overall ,new carpets, bathrooms, and general repairs
Fair price for bed and breakfast for 2
Decor a little tatty here and there, colour scheme quite drab
The actual building, the customer service was good. The food was excellent and the breakfast the best I have had in a hotel.
Radiator off in the room, no options to control room temperature, leaking and cold/windy windows, road noise from the A449 outside the leaking windows, shower did attack us whilst in use and also fell off the wall flooding the room whilst warming up ready to use, room was very cold and draughty and smelt like an old peoples home....
staff were very nice.
food could have been a bit more top notch but on the other hand it was pretty cheap.
I liked the public house attached to the hotel. Breakfast was really nice.
It was my sisters wedding at the location we ordered a room with a cot. When booking in just before our meal we went to our room which had been booked well in advance. We had been given the top floor up lots of stairs which I found strange as we have a toddler. No cot in the room told staff and they said they had none but they aknowledged we ordered one one, they said to leave it with them. I went back after an hour still not sorted. I didn't enjoy my meal as I was trying to get another hotel none available. I was stressing as we had drank alcohol and I don't like driving with alcohol even though would have been under the limit. A taxi would have cost a fortune. Hours later I went and asked again and they said yes they had got one. The room was nice but unsuitable on the top floor. It was a little drafty and noisy from the road as it was single glazed with one half of the window double sheet you could move. Not really worth the amount we paid for one night.
good facilities friendly helpful staff
Historical building, great food, friendly staff
Bed a bit soft
Fan in bathroom going all night unable to switch off.very noisy making sleep very harf
Our room was quet.
It was the wrong hotel and was pub food ie 'Boil In the Bag'
It was very close to where the course I was attending - Ward House Himley Park. Bathroom very well appointed and clean. Breakfast was good.
Windows were dirty and rather stiff in the room. Although the bed was comfortable, the bedding had a musty smell.
Conveniently located for my event
Old fashioned musty damp room. Extremely dark room so couldn't see to do hair and make up. The worst reception ever seen. Bare, dark un welcoming. Terrible breakfast. Never have I stayed anywhere that can't even offer a fresh cup of tea. It was a flask of hot water which was not hot and coffee flask had run out and wasn't replaced. Nothing fresh packet pastries . Very little cereal and only children's style such as coco pops. Would never stay again and at £73 for 1 night I expected more.
Food was of a reasonable standard
The room was cold and dirty with a musty smell in the room and corridors.
The bed The food was incredible
Staff very friendly excellent value
blocked drain run down quality
The room I stayed in exclusive room £60 a night and no different to the other rooms, apart from a bit bigger and there's a Stain glass window
Central to relatives/friends/ bank / stores. All staff very friendly and obliging. Evening meals good quality. Room is a bit rustic but, as I mentioned last year, it was never intended to be a hotel when it was built. However, my stay was comfortable.
Telephone system is not well set up to transfer incoming calls to rooms. (switchboard not always occupied). However the rooms are now equipped with WiFi so I will try to use this next year instead of the phone.
Everything apart from
Position of TV. Plug in bath difficult to remove
