The bed was comfortable
The bathroom was a bit tired.
Decent sized room Bathroom with large bath Comfy bed Plenty of pillows Adequate offroad parking
Traffic noise Poor wifi connection Hard (stale?) bread with breakfast No safe storage for valuables
The food was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient
The room was a bit small no where to put a laptop and a bit noisy no double glassing facing a busy road
Amazing friendly helpful staff
If you are staying on a Tuesday night ask for a room outside otherwise you will be joining in with the quiz in your room!
The food was excellent ant the staff made sure we had a lovely table in the "Vault" and the "Malt" bedroom for our anniversary. Will be going back next year!
Friendly staff, great service and a great room.
Loud Wedding guests at 3am!
The very kind and helpful staff, the room with its pretty decor and comfortable bed, the convenience in terms of location.
Nothing! All was good.
Lovely flowers, convenient location. Nice clean room! Would stay again
Quaint looking, nice location
Whilst in appearance, the room looked lovely and quaint, the facilities were terrible! I am only 5ft tall and the shower head didn't come past my shoulders. It was bolted down so I couldn't lift it, which made it difficult to was my hair. There was no shower curtain, not that I needed it in the end as the shower was more of a dribble. All the mirrors were so low, I had to crouch, including the one on the dressing table. The lighting was very poor so couldn't really put my make up on which was annoying as we were going to a wedding! There was a lack of power points. There were no facilities for a snack after 6pm on Sunday, despite the fact our wedding party booked out practically the whole hotel. Breakfast on the wedding day was ridiculously slow due to the lack of staff. It took 1.5hours for my mushrooms on toast to arrive!! I nearly abandoned the idea as I had to get dressed. When our food did arrive, the toast was cold and my husband's eggs were overcooked. knowing there was an entire wedding party staying there, we thought they would have had a few extra staff. The entire place was dusty and had cobwebs everywhere. Unfortunately we weren't the only couple to experience this. In total, we had booked 8 rooms and we all have varing issues including a leaking roof!! Perhaps if we had paid around £50, I wouldn't be as disappointed. However we all paid £100 per night which did not give us value for money. I would rather have stayed at the Holiday Inn up the road. At least I would have got what I paid for!
The bedroom (external to main house) was pokey, TV hanging off the wall, not maintained and very tired.
Friendly albeit slow service.
The room was small. the windows didn't shut properly and the bathroom was a bit tired. To make matters worse, there are lorries passing by all through the night. I woke at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep causing me to be tired when working the next day.
no double glazing and room overlooked busy road junction
The room was fine Breakfast was good
The evening meal was mediocre
The bar area and the food.
The room. It was far too hot, with pipework under the floor that couldn't be turned down. The chalet room and bathroom were pretty tired overall.
Location n bar area and garden, good range of drinks and food was superb.
Small rooms very dated,cleanliness.
the building although a little tired is attractive and well arranged. friendly helpful staff - went out of their way to help.
sadly no bath as described in the booking.com ad - this was not a luxury room ! nonetheless it was comfortable and clean. Breakfast took a very long time as the chef was unable to make the hollandaise sauce for the eggs benedict ! Perhaps should not have been on the menu but a minor point as breakfast was very good.
The pub/bar area is very nice and the staff are excellent and could not be friendlier.
Rooms are very small and there is no a/c so in the summer get uncomfortably hot. Expensive. Cooked breakfast is on the small side.
Very comfortable room
Extremely hot... No air con..
The Hinds Head is a friendly establishment with a lot of character which I prefer to a soul less generic budget hotel. The bar is comfortable and the restaurant has a good selection of good quality food.
Beautiful place; comfortable bed and well decorated room; friendly staff.
Understaffed; hot and noisy room (on the road); covers for the light fittings in the bathroom missing or loose- hazardous??
Staff were very helpful
Uniqueness of the hotel meant that different rooms varied e.g. location (front/back) and facilities shower cubicle or shower over bath.
good old fashioned country look and feeling about the place, restaurant looked nice but we did not try it so unable to comment on the food
located next to a busy road junction, traffic noise most of the night needs double glazing, only warm water not hot for the shower, tiny bathroom without bath, not at all as idyllic as it looks, such a pity as with some modifications could be so much better
