“Lovely hotel in an historic building, very peaceful”
Andrew,
Wellesbourne
A 21st century haven of comfort and friendly professionalism within a grade I listed (historically designated) Elizabethan manor house, Hintlesham Hall is nestled on 175 acres of rolling Suffolk countryside. The 16th century building is distinguished by its Georgian additions, most notably the famous facade, and by earlier Stuart interior embellishments. Widely recognized as one of the loveliest hotels in the UK and one of Ireland's highest rated hotels, the Hall has 33 bedrooms and suites of varying shapes, sizes and styles, enhanced by fine fabrics, works of art and antiques. Free wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel. The friendly professionalism and the list of available activities is substantial, although the heart of Hintlesham Hall is the opportunity simply to relax and perhaps wander around the grounds or countryside before enjoying chef's latest menus and depleting the award winning wine cellar. Health, beauty and other specialist treatments, a newly equipped gym and helpful instructors now compliment the pool (in season) which is small but perfectly formed. Adjacent is the associated championship-size PGA golf course. Hotel Rooms: 33 Most recent booking for this hotel was at 07:16 from United Kingdom.

The beautiful historic building The bedside radio was crackly and old. Have stayed before about 20 years ago. It's still wonderful but looking just a little tired. Due for a redcoration but keep the character - don't change jusr refresh. Think they're struggling to retain their exclusive status. It used to be the place to stay. Now there's plenty of other competition.

I love the ambiance of the house and gardens. We have visited a few times and have always been able to relax completely as soon as we get there. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is like none other, simply fantastic. I would have preferred a proper double bed instead of the zip and tuck that we had in our favorite room.

Check in service was quick and smooth. I was helped with my luggage which was very much appreciated after a long journey. Unfortunately I did have some difficulty finding the Hotel but that was probably down to me and my incompetence with the sat nav. The room was excellent and quiet which I had specifically requested up front. Evening meal was delicious and service was exceptional. The head waiter was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast menu was good and so was the food. Check out was speedy. I would certainly recommend your hotel to colleagues and friends Breakfast service was rather slow, which is not a prolem if you are not in a hurry, but when on business can be a rather frustrating

Lovely hotel in an historic building, very peaceful The hotel would be described as a bit stuffy in terms of their opinion to certain guests. When booking the one slightly important thing they didnt mention is that you are expected to dress for dinner in suit, dinner jacket or cocktail dress!. Jeans are certainly not allowed and I was encouraged to eat in Harrys which is the bar!. When I questioned the breakfast waiter he confirmed that Jeans were not allowed, so be warned!!. The hotel was lovely and if you were a couple on a romantic break then this would be fine, however for solo business traveller I would look elsewhere.

This hotel had individual qualities as opposed to the sameness of so many chain hotels. My room was spacious and well appointed though lacked a good work station. The bathroom was large and modern but also in keeping with the character of the hotel. I ordered room service as shirt aand jacket required for dinner. Would have been nice to know at poit of booking as I was only there one night and so was travelling light. The room service however was propmt and of good quality. The breakfast was excellent with high quality ingredients, attentive staff and nice environment. The gym was well equipped but needed an overhall as did the changing rooms. My visit was in the dead of winter but it was clear that the gardens and grounds would be lovely in other seasons. Looking forward to my next stay

The hotel's appearance as you drive up does not disappoint. It has an impressive frontage and it is set in lovely grounds. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. A problem with the lighting in the room (a fuse had blown) was fixed immediately and without fuss. Our bedroom was large, comfortable and with pleasant views. The various lounges and sitting areas are ideal for relaxing in country house style. We were fortunate with the weather, but if it had turned out to be inclement we would not have been disappointed to have spent more time around the hotel. All in all a pleasant and relaxing stay. The hotel could do with refurbishment in places; carpet worn on the stairs and bathroom slightly old fashioned (a tiled floor rather than carpet would be easier to maintain and be more hygienic in the bathroom). But, these are minor niggles and would not put us off from returning.

This hotel is a little gem. Very small & intimate old hall, furnished to character with impeccable service. We planned to get out and about during our 2 night stay but finished up collapsed on the terrace in the sun most of the time. We booked to eat in a smart local restaurant and regretted it; leaving behind a cosy beautifully lit up hotel with piano music filtering outside! Our room was let down by instant coffee and long life milk. The welcomed spring water (nice touch) should have been complimented by fresh coffee and in a hotel with such exacting standards perhaps some homemade biscuits. A small criticism however.
