We had a good size bedroom and we enjoyed the full English breakfast. We would go again
Bathroom was abit small with a glass shelf right above the small sink. My husband felt it was difficult to wash and shave.
From check in we knew we'd booked the right place. All staff were excellent. Breakfast delicious. Great location for city centre. One small problem was the shower, it was like a watering can and it was cold unfortunately, but it didnt spoil our stay. Would stay there again, just request a room with a better shower.
Really good value for money. Not very far from town centre (12 minutes by bus).
It could be warmer in the room The shower also wasn't particularly hot.
Good breakfast. Not far to walk into Chester. Hoole is a nice village with good places to eat. Its a five minute walk away.
This wasnt a four star.
Only stayed for one night but location was ideal for city centre (5 mins by taxi).
Nothing we didn't like.
Very friendly, excellent service. Lovely breakfast.
Comfy bed Quality breakfast ingredients Lovely natured staff Helpful with local information Honesty bar Close to town (walk or cheap taxi) Close to station
One bed was old and no support in mattress Decorations bit dated (does that really matter?!)
Very warm cosy & welcoming everything about the hotel excellent
Nothing to dislike
Cheapest single room I could find that close to Chester and, whilst the interior is clearly dated, the standard of cleanliness couldn't be faulted.
Busy side street so not much car parking space in the area
The staff were pleasant and attentive. Only 10 minute walk into Chester. The breakfast was great and the stay was value for money in comparison to other guest houses in the area
The guest house could do with an update in decor - in the 2 rooms our party used. Having said that it was comfy, clean and had everything we needed.
Friendly environment. Convenience to city centre. Car parking.
FAST CHECK IN
OLD DECOR MORE LIKE A 3STAR NO WAY A 4 STAR ROOM COLD SHOWER NOT VERY GOOD
FRIENDLY STAFF, EXCELLENT BREAKFAST, LOCATION, VALUE FOR MONEY
COULD BE CLEANER, IE THE TOOTHBRUSH HOLDER ETC, BUT I DON'T USE THIS ANYWAY. THERE ARE SOME SMALL ISSUES BUT FOR VALUE FOR MONEY, CAN'T COMPLAIN.
Very friendly staff and helpful. Room was clean and warm. Food good. Easy access to hotel from motorways and close to rail station and town.
Secure parking is a bit of a lottery especially if hotel full.
Within walking distance to town centre. Rooms were clean and tidy. Food was good. Plenty of local shops and places to eat. There was a Hungry Horse just 5mins walk away which was very good value
Thought the room price was a little to much for out of season accommodation.
Very good accommodation, clean and tidy. Bed and shower fine. Excellent location. Breakfast was good also.
Unable to get a wifi connection, staff did not respond to reception bell in the evenings, so it was bad luck if you wanted any assistance with anything. As we were not provided with enough milk for our coffees in our room, we were on rations! So might be worth bringing own milk, if you like a bedtime drink.
Everything else, good fresh cooked breakfast, very friendly owners.and very clean 15 minute walk into town Liked being able to book in early Will DEFINITELY use again next time we visit next year
Mattress much too firm, ours seem to have no give. More info on where local restaurants are would be helpful as we went into town then discovered 2/3 around corner next day
good location if you stay there try the Chinese restaurant down the road great food
The willow pattern crockery The assorted plates on the walls The paisley bed cover The red and blue patterned carpet in the lounge The salmon and scrambled egg breakfast The self service bar The friendly and very helpful staff
No ice available at the bar (that I could find) for my vodka and tonic No slimline tonic
Location near Hoole village centre with good eateries and pubs! Only 15 min walk into Chester centre.
Tired and dated decor, ensuite functional but basic and cold
Very helpful staff and very comfortable bed. Good breakfast to start your day. Within a good walking distance of Chester which is well worth visiting.
Room a bit dated.
the breakfast is very good, valuable and the restaurant is so nice, and very welcome from cooker and assistant.
I stay in single at ground floor, very noisy. if you stay in room #6 you can hear the door-bell or the bell for calling reception, and this room is in front of the kitchen, so imagine how noisy ? about the facilities in that room is poor, the bed, shabby, and smelly toilets..no hair dryer, I think I stay in two stars hotel, not four stars hotel
The breakfast was excellent. Rooms a little dated but very clean would stay here again
Very kind and helpful staff, couldn't do enough for us. Great location for shopping/night out in Chester. Great value
