Nice to see they are upgrading hoar cross hall. It's always lovely a da beautiful place.
The Wifi is very temperamental.
Just a very nice place to stay
Excellent evening meal lovely restaurant beautiful room whole experience very relaxing
Not enough relaxing chairs around pool in day spa
spa facilities were good and breakfast was very nice
rooms were a lot smaller than pictures on internet , the television was to low to watch when in bed needs to put on wall , cobwebs in corners of the room , lifts were very slow had to wait along time for them to arrive
Very friendly staff especially in the gym area. The bar staff were cheery and eager to please. The spa facilities are amazing with something for everyone. The view from our room was magical as it was in the old building facing the impressive rear gardens.
It's quite pricey but definitely worth a treat.
Beautiful Location Friendly & helpful staff Brilliant facilities Food was exceptional
Bed was too soft
Luxury and being pampered
Excellent facilities Excellent staff Good food Beautiful building
Hot room but the weather was hot
Facilities were superb food was good staff were very helpful
Towels on chairs in spa but no people like being on holiday in Spain!!
The pool area is ideal and the treatments are spectacular. Food was all good quality and a lot of choice.
They have changed the location of where they pick you up for your treatment. Instead of the quiet and tranquil room it now so loud that the therapist are shouting names. Defeats the idea of relaxing.
The spa facilities; the grounds; the food
Spa was good
Hotel was terrible, staff have no idea how to act in what should be a high class environment, both me and my partner were extremely disappointed.
Great 'spa' facilities, grounds and gardens. Very good restaurant facilities and our superior room was exactly that, albeit furnishings are 'period' in nature and not exactly contporary.
Confusing corridors, slightly tired look in some common areas of the hotel section, but 'day spa' area was more modern.
Room and breakfast Spa facilities
Lack of lockers had leave stuff out. Evening meal was disappointing for the money you pay should of drove out to local pub. Meau changed from our last stayed in Aug 2014 My husband had to ask for his drink three times before it arrived 1 hour later. Flys in the room on arrival Lobby area not clean leafs and mud. Safe details were in the locked safe! We wasted hour of a stay.
Gym & Jacuzzi
Flys in bedroom
facilities good plenty of room to relax. The fact that you get little phone signal is great so you get time out perfect
Everyone was so courteous except for 1 receptionist in the spa area
The coffee, it was awful, so bitter, the complimentary was better
Stress free great staff
One pool was closed for the day
Gorgeous facilities - plunge pool especially good.lovely luxurious bedroom with antique chairs jacuzzi bath big tele lovely drinks and plenty space.Balcony with peaceful view and table&chairs.Love the slumber room and massage chairs.Great amazing state of the art gym - good range of classes.
The hotel was dirty, plates and cutlery were dirty and the plates left marks on the tables. The food was of a very low standard. The besroom we were given was a room used by staff, the bath was full of stagnant water and as a result i could not have a bath or shower until i got home, i had to eat dinner and then breakfast still covered in massage oils from the day before! Breakfast was cold despite being there for breakfast openning, this was due to lack of sleep as the bed was so small and uncomfortable. The spa resort was overbooked so there was no room in the jacuzzi at any point throughout the day, there was also no where to relax other than the lobby which was also full of people waiting for treatments. All in all a bad experiance, the hotel manager agreed and a full refund followed but this didnt take away from the fact my weekend was ruined.
Undergoing renovation. A complete mess. Dont go there.
Setting and faciltiies
Renovation and layout complications
The original building is fantastic, we visit National Trust properties and it is great to see a hotel trying to keep traditional features. The pools, spas and gym were a great bonus for us as we were only looking for a hotel room and we used them on both days. In fact there was so much to do given the time we could have stayed at the hotel and not had to go out. The food was very good in the evening and the resturant was beautifully decorated. There was plently to choose from for breakfast and being a buffet breakfast you could help yourself to what you wanted. Looking forward to returning again.
Some of the lockers in the changing rooms need attention as locks do not work. This was more of a problem in the mens changing rooms. Beds were a little firm for us but good quality. However, we are used to a soft matteress at home so always a problem when we use hotels.
The food was very good and the surrounding well kept gardens fantastic.
The wi-fi wass rather cumbersome.
