I had a really great view of the Thames from my room on the top floor and the location close to the heart of Richmond was perfect for my stay. As a guest needing to pop into London it makes the stay more relaxing to find a functional hotel within budget and in such a good location.

Friendly helpful staff. Fantastic location for Twickenham Rugby. Richmond is great for shopping and eating. The hotel was clean, but in need of some TLC. Really great location and the staff more than made up for it's shabby decor.

We felt Hobart Hall to be a very interesting place and an artists paradise. The history element was fascinating and we would have liked to have found out more about historical aspects, we did pick up a flyer, but staff knew little re the origin of the art work and the artists. We presume they were mainly created, panels in the dining area by Pissaro and at other parts of the building. Other artists were noted too - Mozley? A French artist too? We enjoyed the 4 poster. 'Loved the high ceilings and decor therein. 'Would love more info re the ceiling art in reception. I'd like to visit again - Janet. Thanks, Janet (daughter) and Irene (mother) Area around fireplace was dirty till cleaner had been in the day after we arrived. Fine, apart from this. Thank you.

I was told that if I wanted a cooked breakfast they need 24 hrs notice. They run hotel on a shoe string.I was on top floor 60 steps up Waw. If you have a car there is limited parking 14 cars they have 30 plus bedrooms.I read that a person stayed there abroad thought the view was wonderful what planet was he on you cant see the Thames because of trees, and the garden needs tender care.seems the owners are only interested in money and they dont want to spend on the building Pity. I will never stay there again.

This is a wonderfully eccentric place, full of character. It has the real feel of a large farmhouse, including that homily smell. We need more unpretentious hotels and guesthouses like this

The location and availability of on-site car parking facilities. The building is very run down and needs complete re-furbishment. Sash windows are in disrepair and rattle. They are also not secure against intruders. Paintwork and carpets are old and un-clean. Bed linen was of poor quality. It may only be three star but we were very disappointed. The breakfast was also disappointing and it seemed that a request for toast was too much to ask of the foreign staff.

It is close to all the amenities of Richmond and has easy transport connections. It is an old, tired building that doesn't really live up to the historic profile that is featured on the website to attract guests.

Location. Overpriced for what one gets there ie room small and cramped, noisy as near main road, outdated by years. Needs major overhaul as is rundown in many areas.

I love this place, it is so English Eccentric and such fun to stay in! The setting (ask for a back room overlooking the river) is lovely and very useful for outer London as it is so easy to get in to central London by tube or bus. The staff are the most charming I have come across in years of hotel stays. I indulged in the English Breakfast on my last day and it was cooked fresh at the time I asked for and was delicious..two perfect fried eggs, 2 rashers of good bacon, sausage, black pudding, mushrooms and tomato, and two rounds of fresh toast...who could ask for more? Whats more the Dining Room is charming and boasts real Linen Napkins! After about 11.30pm the doors ceased to bang (why are people so thoughtless??) and did not start again until 7.30am, which let's face it is a real first for any hotel which is usually noisy all the time. If you don't want to pay central London prices or be put into tiny, nasty little rooms, come further out and stay at the Hobart Hall and spend the difference on the Tube!!! Love you Hobart, thank you! O.K. if you are Alex Polizzi you would probably turn your nose up at some of the paintwork, which needs another fresh coat in some of the outer areas, and she might not go for the eccentric apple tree in the Lounge. The tv was a bit hit-and-miss as the weather was clear and the Freeview broke up quite a bit the first two nights, but settled down when the weather changed! Apart from that I refuse to criticize the place!

Location unbeatable - 100 yards from Richmond bridge, restaurants etc. High on character rather than luxury. Always worth trying for last minute booking. Get there early to park. Nice lounge but no bar.

The hotel is in a great part of London, Richmond. It has a great view of gardens and the river. It is a very comfortable hotel, some may say a bit dated, but that adds to the natural charm of the place. It has a cute breakfast room and a cozy common room. My room and bathroom were good size compared to most European hotels. It is about a 15 minute walk from the tube stop, but has a bus that stops nearby.

Hobart Hall was very quiet and peaceful and had a relaxing atmosphere to it. I knew Hobart Hall had an old fashioned feel to it by the photo's on the website, but I found the guest house really run down inside and in desperate need of a make over. Carpets were worn and there were what I call, moth holes in the curtains. I was very disappointing with the bathroom, the photo's on the website showed a corner bath and that was what I was expecting when I checked in, this was not the case!! Hobart Hall would be beauiful inside with a slight make over.

free wifi and computer in lounge area, large room, open plan lounge area, large TV in lounge area, old style feel to the hotel. Clean room and facilities, efficient house keeping staff, clothes washing facilities were a big plus!! curtains in my room as well as the sash to hold curtains were broken and sash hooked on by safety pin, reception staff although helpful were not very chatty or over friendly which is what you want when you so far away from home, bed mattress had a massive curve in it therefore it was very hard to get comfortable, ceiling/floor very thin as I could hear every movement of the people staying the in room above me. would have been good if wifi was accessable from the room. Hotel close to bus but a bit of a walk from train station if you have alot of heavy luggage.

The staff were courteous, the accomodation was comfortable and quiet with an excellent buffet breakfast. The hotel backs on to the river at Richmond with it's excellent walks and hostelries. The only downside might be the lack of lifts which wasn't a real problem as I am fairly fit.

The outlook from my room was amazing. There was a beautiful garden below my window which led directly down to the Thames and I will never forget how peaceful it was. I look forward to returning one day.
