the position was good. The room is small even for London and it was smelling like sewer. The staff didnt make up my room the first night. Shaftesbury is the worst hotel chain I've ever seen. If I knew before it was a Shaftesbury hotel I wouldnt have booked.

It was okay Once again, booked an executive and it ends up being a small hotel room. Not impressed.

Good location The description says that the executive rooms are equipped with microwave oven and fridge which is a lie. The room is very small and the bed is not comfortable at all.

I liked the fact that due to the restaurant being out of order, I called reception and asked them to order a takeaway and bring it round to the other house which they did. Also when I checked out the next day, not being able to stay another night, we talked to a very polite man (possibly manager) who did say he would move us into the actual hotel so it would feel safer and he explained that there was an excellent security system in place (not sure I believe they watch cameras and patrol the "extension" all night. We had already made our decision to leave anyway & we were not offered a refund but that isn't uncommon in certain establishments. Next time I will stick to North London when travelling alone with a child. I was on my own with my young daughter and we were put into an extension house, away from the actual hotel and unstaffed. Upon arrival we were checked in by an unhelpful lady and I was asked to pay a £10 deposit on my bank card. I gave her the bank card I booked and paid with (they took the money twice upon booking and I had a hell of a job getting through to get the payment returned) only to be told that they do not take my bank card. I kept telling the lady on reception that they didn't seem to have that problem when they took my money twice and she just kept saying no until after a long stand off late at night we were finally taken to our other "extension building". There was a menu in the room stating they sold food until 10pm so I called reception about this and we were told there was no food available as the restaurant is "out of order today"and we had not eaten and had been travelling all day. There was no way, in that area, that I would have felt safe to go to a restaurant in the dark. When we were shown the room it was very basic and the plasma tv which was on the booking was the furthest thing to a plasma I had ever seen. I went to the bathroom and sat on the toilet, only to discover that the large bathroom window was plain glass and all the other properties could see in. I asked my daughter to draw the blind but she couldn't as it didn't have a cord so I had to reach up and manually roll and unroll the blind each time we went in the bathroom otherwise we couldn't see as it was a blackout blind. We felt unsafe so put a chair under the door handle for the night, got in touch with a friend and decided to stay with them the following night.

I appreciate that rooms in London are at a premium but this one was the size of a coffin and couldn't have closer to the running tube. Great for getting there but horrendous for a nights sleep. The above

- Staff was really helpful when needee - room was awesome! We really liked it! - good localization - just 7 stops from London center, without switching lines - really close to Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Notting Hill, Stamford Bridge stadium - Wi-Fi connection only in the reception, not in the rooms

Brilliant location, so close to earls court tube station. Nice and quiet area. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom very clean. Have already recommended to others. The restaurant was out if service due to refurbishment but that pushed us to eat out which was also a plus. There was no mini bar (fridge on room empty bar 2 bottles of water) which seemed strange but the room really was lovely.

Relatively close to the tube station. Variety of restaurants close by. Everything. The hotel rooms have nothing to do with the information displayed in the site. Tiny room, I could barely fit the suitcase there. The wardrobe was so small the clothes didn't fit. Unconfortable. Smelly bathroom.

Clean and elegant room. Again, was booked as an executive apartment, but ended up being a plush hotel room. Still nice though.

This is a very well priced hotel. It is comfortable, well kept and the rooms have all the facilities that one would want. The staff at the reception are fantastic and the cleaning staff are also good once you have established communication with them. The location is within easy reach of the main shopping areas with large supermarkets very nearby. Nothing really except that there are extensive refurbishment works going on and these create some disturbance. It does not effect me because I leave hotel quite early and return quite late. Moreover, once extensive upgrade works are going this is to be expected.

Although the room was compact, it contained all the facilities required with the option to use the microwave which is a useful feature. Good shower. Ideal location for what we wanted to do. Room a bit too compact but fine for a couple of nights. Room floor is not level which impacted on the bed and meant that one side slightly higher than the other - rolled towards the middle. State of the art plasma TV, although not an important feature, did not work - only one reasonably clear channel, so either needs fixing if advertising this as part of the package. Wasn't aware that the room was in a different building to the main hotel and there needs to be more information on where exactly the dining room / bar etc. is located. When looking for the hotel, there was nothing to indicate 'Executive Rooms by Shaftesbury', if looking for the name.

location was good with the tube station Earl's court was 5min walk, and there are many shops, pubs around. the room was smaller than we though but fair enough for the price and it was clean and comfortable. difficult to find. the reception was not the place shown as address, but they use common reception with Best western hotel Shaftesbury.
