Ambience, service, quietness
Peace and quiet. Great place for relaxation
The owner made us feel very welcome, like a home from home. The rooms are nice and large allowing our baby to roam around. Wished to stay longer!
All was good...owner very friendly... enjoyed our stay...
I suppose been near a farm there was bound to be flies so we had a few in the room otherwise we would go back again at some point...
Everything. First class accommodation.
There was nothing not to like.
The rooms and grounds fantastic
Holbecks is set in a peaceful location in lovely grounds, in easy reach of the facilities of Hadleigh. The house has a lot a character and there is a very comfortable sitting room available for the use of guests. Lovely, spacious bedroom. Very relaxing place to stay.
Helpful unobtrusive host; large bedroom and attached large bath/shower room. Elegant dining and drawing rooms Large lawn; mature (some stunning) trees Ballustraded york stone slabbed sitting area outside drawing room French windows. Comfortable bed.Hearty breakfast
There was the perfect mix of friendly welcome and genuine helpfulness, without a hint of intrusiveness. We also liked the very comfortable bed, the lovely garden, the welcoming tray of tea and biscuits and the feeling that guests' comfort is the first consideration at all times.
Hard to think of anything, but I suppose we did comment that the selection of jams with breakfast was a bit pre-packaged and dull. But that is such a minute point it isn't important at all given the overall success of our visit.
Great location Garden Flat had it all Grounds are phenomenal Owners are very helpful
Very convivial host who looked after us well - we only had to ask and our request was granted. Lovely old home with spacious rooms. Great breakfast cooked to order. Fast wifi which is a godsend when you're on the road.
The twin beds were a tad soft (to our taste) and the shower head was a bit iffy - tended to concentrate rather than disperse the spray, but these were very minor issues.
Located in the heart of rural Suffolk with easy access to all scenic locations, Holbecks provides you with tranquil and spacious accommodation in an attractive country house surrounded by farmland. Unlikely to be bettered elsewhere.
Really loved this gracious house with beautifully kept grounds. Both the owner Peregrine and his dog, Lily, were equally as gracious!!. I am in the Antiques trade and was pleased to see some lovely traditional quality furniture and silver. We were also very surprised to find that our room,Constable, was actually a 4 room suite!!!. Loved it and thankyou.
Duvets too warm for the weather we are having at the moment, but I appreciate it is not easy to keep changing them.
We liked everything about Holbecks house, Perry was the perfect host nothing was too much trouble. it was just Peace and Tranquility. Its only a short walk into Hadliegh which is a Lovely town. I do hope we go back one day. Thank you perry for our Lovely stay :)
theres nothing not to like !!!
Very beautiful grounds and georgian era house.
It is a wonderfully relaxing place.
Lovely spot set in its own very peaceful grounds and an easy 10 minute walk back from Hadleigh town.
One of the rooms has a separate bathroom. This separate bathroom doesn't have a shower.
The surroundings were really relaxing and peaceful. The Constable room that we had was a suite, unexpected. The bathroom had a roll top bath. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The personal service from Perry was fantastic. After showing us around his most beautiful home he made us a pot of tea and biscuits. It was truly like being welcomed into a friends home. Fresh milk in the fridge great. The views and the facilities fabulous and the wonderful breakfast cooked with local produce was delicious. So good we have already booked to go back
You felt like you were a friend coming to stay. What a wonderful old house.
The sausage on my wonderful breakfast was pointing North east instead of south west, and there were only 234 baked beans and not 250. Anything would be splitting hairs.
Great Hosts, Great rooms, great breakfast... would definitely stay again!
When we arrived,it was quite late and Perry made sure there was milk, tea and coffee. He had also got us some flap jacks for a late evening snack. He was super friendly, very helpful with suggestions of local sights to see. We would definitely stay here again.
