Located close to the centre of the small town of Thurso, this is an excellent base for exploring the North Coast.

Score from 133 reviews Very good
This small, family-run hotel has free Wi-Fi and free parking. It is in the centre of Castletown, close to Thurso and Wick and only minutes from the Castle of Mey.
Score from 105 reviews Good
A stylish bed and breakfast in mainland Scotland’s most northerly town, Bed and Breakfast at 4 in Thurso enjoys a town centre location just 5 minutes’ drive from the ferry to Orkney.
Score from 132 reviews Superb
Excellent breakfast, clean room, helpful staff and good location.
We arrived at 10pm on a Friday evening after a 16 hour journey. The bar downstairs had really loud garage music until 1am. Unable to sleep until the music stopped.
Clean room and wifi
Very hard to find, entrance is located on side street not on the street listed as their address. Even with GPS we rode around for 30 minutes before asking a local. Desk was not manned but they came when we rang the bell. Hotel is small as were the rooms but they were clean and the wifi worked. The barmaid was helpful when we needed directions to Tesco for medicine. We worried that the carpark would not be available when we returned (only 4 spots) but she stood outside and watched our spot for us!!
Dinner was over cooked, Room very narrow Parking limited
car parking facilities
Clean room Good food (Diner & breakfast) Free WiFi ( after a while)
Fish & Clam smell in Stairway
Lovely breakfast Pleasant staff Comfortable room
Proximity to town
Good one night stop. Enjoyed the pipe and drum band playing in the street on Saturday night.
The location and the restaurant
The sink in the bathroom is far too little for adult people
Quality of Breakfast was very good. Free Wi-Fi. Comfortable beds.
We arrived late on a Friday evening, but were not informed that there would be entertainment in the bar on Saturday evening. Having spent a full Saturday exploring the area we were tired and retired to bed about 9.30pm. At 10pm the entertainment started. what a dreadful noise, drums and "singing" for almost 2 hours. No sleep was possible.I did complain on Sunday morning, but no apology from management recieved. Leaving after breakfast on Monday, a courteous thanks for staying would have been appreciated - nothing. The en-suite facilities were OK. Excellent shower, but the height of sink was obviously catering for very short people. To wet shave without kneeling was impossible. Also unable to fill kettle directly, had to use a plastic cup to transfer water from tap. The Boy racers are obviously a feature of Thurso, but again not easy to sleep with exhaust noises from their souped up cars.
Staff welcoming and helpful Good breakfast
Room awkward to use eg no plug for kettle near tray with tea/coffee etc. Basin very small so difficult to put water in kettle. Towel rail in an awkward place although there was adequate room for a rail in a more suitable space.
nice friendly people, comfortable and good restaurant
Friendly staff and quality of food.
No issues !
very good resteraunt
The hotel provided dinner in the bar and we played pool.
Very small bathroom
Clean tidy and warm
Needs to make up mind as to whether its an accommodation provider or a nightlife centre. The bad band playing to 3am accompanied by female shrieks not conducive to sleep. We have stayed other places with active bars but nothing like this the base was felt through the floor let alone heard.
Room a bit small Overpriced
Friendly staff. Busy pub w ith good food.
size of the room
Helpful staff. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. Excellent standard of hygiene. Restaurant in hotel 'The Red Pepper' excellent.
Very limited parking in carpark - five spaces.
