Score from 80 reviews Good
The staff were excellent, the four poster room was beautiful and the food was great. And pool and steam room very inviting..
Food was great, maim areas of the house were lovely.
My bedroom needed some TLC. Think the hotel, which I believe is getting, could do with a little TLC
Very large bedroom and lounge in the suite. Great value for money with excellent breakfast. Good sized swimming pool
No heating in the bedroom
Loved the location, the gardens and the general feel of the house.
There's absolutely nothing not to like.
The grounds; the building; the staff and the food.
Dinner Menu was the same on both nights. The remote placing of tables to provide privacy was a little 'overdone'. Lack of lift an inconvenience when room is on 3rd. Floor.
Breakfast was good exactly what you'd expect for made to order at £15.50 per person. The layout of the room was nice. Facilities are standard but they do the job. The house is wonderful and in a very convenient location.
Walls were too thin, could hear one sides tv and the other side having a normal level of conversation (there were no other rooms available - i contacted reception) We had been on a very long journey and had an 18 mnth old of which was ill, whilst there my partner became ill in the night - as the walls were so thin I'm certain the neighbours didn't appreciate hearing him throwing up. Also it wasn't up to the cleanliness standard you'd expect, it looked clean enough but there was a bottle top between the bed and cabinet, the hand towel had food on it, one of the robes was discoloured all down the neck and inside one side (not a small stain), the tray with the kettle on was caked in grease underneath (found out because I moved it, the bed had a few crumbs in.
Very friendly staff. Delicious food. Spacious rooms.
The setting and general ambience.
We specified a quiet room and were given a garden room. There was a wedding reception, which kept us awake until midnight. We were never told about it beforehand. We tried twice to contact reception, without success, and apart from one negative response, all of our subsequent e-mails have remained unanswered. Very, very poor show and very unprofessional. This is a genuine complaint, check it out with the management – if you ever receive a reply.
gym and pool very good, garden room that i stayed in was nice
tv in room tiny, hard work getting fed at night, it was suggested i ate in the bar at the gym, was on my own in there (no staff that night and it shut at 9.30). took an hour to get my dinner...when it turned up it was very nice though!
Staff very attentive accomadating and obliging.
The decor needs a serious revisit. It's shabby and tired, it really lets an otherwise very nice destination down. Mainly the colour variation (or lack of it) with wallpaper, paint and carpets being the main eyesore iritation.
I love to stay at this hotel. I really enjoy the attention to detail that is given to the rooms. The staff make me feel like the most important person they have each time I stay.
Very dated decor Very warm room
I love the atmosphere of Holbrook. I have stayed here before but wanted to share the experience with my new partner.
The staff are flexible, professional, friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Ripped carpets, water stains, peeling paint, chipped decor, flaking plasterwork and the sense that if the owners care about this hotel - it doesn't show. It is tired and in some places dilapidated...its former glory is, I fear, little more than a shadow of its past. Good time to invest in refurbishing...the garden rooms are more holiday camp than manor house. Shame really...
Great room, great leisure facilities. friendly staff and a good location.
only 1 pillow each. probably should have asked for another but only there 2 nights and bed was very comfortable.
Very good service excellent food
Nothing really all satisfied with your service and attention
the pool and sauna was excellent and bedroom very comfortable, we did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment
we could not avoid hearing the couple next door to us having what private eye used to refer to as ugandan relations - we will let you work out what that means...
The bathroom was lovely and modern and the hotel itself was lovely.
The room, it was very dated and could do with an update. it didnt match the modern bathroom.
The room was amazing. We stayed in the Delux "Albert" the bath was amazing. Highly recommend this place and will defiantly go back
Gardens and excellent cuisine
It was totally amazing could nt fault any of it best part was the wonderful gardens and the staff could nt do enough for you
The swimming pool
the decor in the annexe was poor and the telephone was out of order. Double glazing needs replacing.
Big bathrooms and nice shower gel
The rooms are a little bit old.
I enjoy every bit of it, from the time I enter to the time I leave. I have enjoyed the Ninesprings room as much as all of the other rooms I have been in. The gardens have come very well since my last visit. The rooms are so big you can get lost in them. Little touches of class are found throughout the hotel. Staff are very good!!
Not having the opportunity to visit more often.
The staff were very friendly and polite but not intrusive. The bedding in particular was immaculately clean. The dining room was of the standard I would expect for the money paid to stay at this hotel. The food was very well presented and of an excellent quality.
The hotel is a little faded, it could do with newer furnishings. In general the furniture was a little tired. I expected the rooms to be of a higher standard for the money paid (£100 per night).
