On arrival we were up-graded to a self contained flat which was excellent, this gave us our own space after long days out and about. We travelled by train so the location to the station and city was very good (about 10 minuets walk). The staff were very friendly and helpful, lovely breakfast with a varied choose, best poached eggs I've ever tasted. |

The hotel was just a short walk from the city centre - took us about 15 mins. Free on site car parking. Breakfast was good. Room wasn't overly big and it was situated in the middle of the hotel so there was no natural daylight. Our window looked out into the corridor of the hotel so we had to keep the curtains closed or else everyone passing could see in! |

Breakfast was amazing. Menu choice was excellent, quantity and quality offered a great start to any day. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. We had a comfortable stay and would return again. This is a general comment and not a complaint. Double beds should be at least queen sized to offer adequate comfort. Every hotel in North America/Canada offers at least a queen bed. Double beds in England seem to be standard and hotels/ guest houses would do alot to promote tourism by offering queen and King beds with douvets and daily clean linen rather than same blankets and bedspread customer to customer. The British tourism industry in general needs to upgrade. |

The fact that we broke the soap dispenser by accident and the owner was understanding and didn't charge a penny. Free upgrade upon arrival and no curfew times. A little pricey (but all York Hotels are, this was one of the most reasonable) |

Room was full of cobwebs (top of the wardrobe, around ceiling light fittings). Thick dust ciould be seen on the curtain pelmets. Shower did not reach hot temperature even though it was left to run for a considerable time.. I think the cleaner of this room only cleaned up to eye level. We did get this room at a discounted price, but would have been very disappointed indeed if we had paid full price. |

Visited York and its Inns. Had a Ghost Walk. We were ground floor at front and it was noisy with main road traffic. |

Nice hotel, friendly staff and very comfortable. Breakfast was loveley, although a little early, but it got us out of bed. It's a little walk to the City centre but I enjoyed my stay there. Recommended. |

The Food was excellent, and the room was very comfortable and cosy, i liked the friendlyness of the staff in the hotel, although it would have been nice if they had a mini fridage in the rooms to keeo drinks cool and such but it was a fab stay, you felt at home. One thing we found we didnt like was that one day we came back to find our room door was open from the cleaning staff being in and did not make sure the door was closed behind them, i felt that was quite careless on there part and felt like my personal belonigns were not as safe as i thought. But apart from that i view the hotel very highly. |

Very nice room. Breakfast only served 8 till 9 on weekdays. which was tool late for me as I had a train to catch and they would not accommodate my request for a 7.30 breakfast. No restaurant, though to be fair ir was not really that kind of hotel. |

the closeness to places of interest. We would not class this as a hotel, it was a basic bed and breakfast, quite dated and needs updating to bring it to the standard that it is advertised at (3 star). We only saw the waitresses at breakfast but no one senior seemed to be around. The floorboards were atrocious on the stairs and in our room. |

It was near the centre of york and all the sights where walking distance from the B&b you could not class it as a hotel. |
