Location to town and attractions is good, you can walk to anything and heaps of parking at hotel so can leave car there, Staff were very helpful and breakfasts were good Only minor things like pillows too flat and hard need fluffy new pillows but thats my preference only, no hairdryer in room but provided when requested otherwise very happy with b&b one of the better ones we have stayed at on our trip

The hotel is in a reasonable position - an easy 8-10 minute walk from the city walls. The service from the (new?) owner and the staff was excellent and they provided good advice re about the city. Internet connection was excellent...and free. The full breakfasts are very good. Plenty of free parking at the rear of the hotel. The decor was slightly "tired", but the new new (?) owner said that they were upgrading areas of the hotel, bit by bit. Even so it was a clean establishment.

Fantastic stay in clean comfortable environment. The Manager and staff friendly and very accomodating. They were generous with breakfast and room amenties. A good budget stay that provides for your needs adequately. Certainly value for money and they cater well to your needs. Just be prepared it is a bit of a walk from Train station and getting in to town. However it didn't worry us to walk it with our bags.

A very friendly welcome and helpful advice about local buses, taxis and things to do. Personal recommendations of restaurants were accurate as we took their advice and had great meals while we were there. Close to the railway station via a footbridge but a bit of a walk into town.

Friendly staff, very convenient for the city as long as you are able to walk. Nice bed with new mattress, bathroom clean and modern. Bathroom door didn't slide and the toilet very close to bedroom facilities exacerbated by ill fitting door.

We enjoyed the stay in this B&B very much. All the staff especially the manager and the chef are very friendly in the B&B. It was just about 15 mins walk from the city center. The room that we stayed in was very new and comfortable. We particually like the Full English Breakfast, it was really fantastic!! I could say this is one of the best B&Bs that I have stayed in. I will definately recommend my friends to stay in there if they are going to York!

Good value for money hotel, friendly staff, very clean, easy parking A little far out for some people - it was a good 15-20 minute walk into the centre which adds up if you're going back and forth. No beans with breakfast!

breakfast area and choice was excellent, location was convenient for city centre the owner explained that they had recently taken over the hotel and were upgrading the rooms. Unfortunately mine had not yet been done and could have been more comfortable. However, I would return and hope to see improvements.

The holgate bridge hotel was in a perfect position for York town centre. When we arrived, about 6.00pm, reception was closed. We had to ring a phone number for someone to come and register us in. They were at the hotel next door.

I liked the staff at Holgate Bridge. Very helpful and made our stay easy to our schedule. We really enjoyed York and all it's history and it's shops. Will return. The breakfast was very good and those young girls really worked hard to make the breakfast special. I had the light breakfast, because I ate too much the night before, but it sure looked good and the others seemed to really enjoy it.
