Close to York station, and easy walking distance to the centre of town. Fairly quiet, homely feel. Liked the train memorabilia. The bed was too soft, and the shower was woefully inadequate. The door outside the room banged loudly when people used it. |

The Holgate Bridge was fairly close to the center of town and to the train station. The breakfast staff were kind and friendly. The beds were a little soft. |

In truth, not much. I booked based on information on the internet, and feel it was mis-represented. On a positive note it was a short walk from the City Centre, and the breakfast was o.k. The access to the rooms was limited, the decor was old fashioned and need of an update, the bathroom was small, the shower was poor. I feel it was expensive and not value for money. |

good breakfast, good value for money for what we got our room was not ensuite, so were several other rooms, when you are staying in such a hotel you would hope all rooms would be ensuite in this day & age |

Room was basic but clean and comfortable with a small en-suite shower room. Breakfast was enjoyable. Hotel looked quite dark and shabby inside and had a fusty smell. |

Spacious family room; helpful staff; near city centre Room in need of renovation eg shabby curtains; windows not shutting properly - overlooking busy road so noisy; please note - not a hotel, but a large b&b |

Only about 20 min walk from City Centre, so we were able to leave the car parked at the hotel for 2 days, and make full use of our two days to explore York on foot. The family room actually had two single beds and a double, so much more comfortable for the children - many places only offer a double sofa bed for children. Good value for money. Everything clean, but shower was really weak - took forever for the four of us to have have a shower in the evening! Did not spoil our stay. |

First of all the lovely surprise of an upgrade to a suite, which was beautifully fitted and very comfortable. The easy walk to the city walls and so to the history that is York, including the railway Museum. Friendly staff and a good breakfast to see you on your way. |

Nothing. It was an over priced out-dated dump. The hotel was a bit of a dump for the price we paid and we were expecting more from it. The bathroom had one of those hokey sliding doors so no privacy at all, the over-all decor of the bedroom was very out-dated stuck in the 70's look to it. Couldn't find the tea service as it was stashed away in the clothes closet, stale tea bags, no biscuits, no guest soaps/shampoo, 1 towel each. |
