Very satisfactory accommodation Value for money Friendly and efficient service
Cleaness Friendly, Breakfast
Floorboards creaked upstairs, mattress lumpy
the staffs here were all very friendly, and the decorations in the room makes me feel very comfortable like home.
No safety lockers.
Room adequate and clean. Staff really lovely, made very welcome. Excellent breakfast.
Room on the front and a little bit noisy. I would ask for a rear facing room if I stayed again.
Very friendly breakfast chef Pasquale- made you feel very welcome and at home.
Conveniently close to city centre. Room clean and provided all that was required. Breakfast good.
Some room fittings needed fixing eg Towel rail
Had two rooms ?
Bed was to soft ,the room was to near the breakfast area
Everything about the guest house was very pleasing. Cant praise the staff enough. Made our stay feel like home.
Friendly staff, the girl from the reception was very nice and changed our room because of the noisy bathroom, the breakfast was tasty and plentyfull, the internet connection was good, confy beds, parking lot, near the city center
Old house with old and narrow stairs, second room was at the second floor, no fresh veggies at the breakfast, it was impossible for us to close completely one of the windows so it was a little bit noisy in the room
friendly staff early book in good choice of cereals and extras at breakfast comfortable
The location was really good and staff friendly
We couldn't shut a window so traffic noise kept us awake.
Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was excellent and there was a good choice of cereals, fruit juices and cooked breakfast; made to your request. The Italian chef Pasquale was great fun also! Tea and coffee making facilities were generous. Overall a very pleasant stay and would recommend it.
A couple of mornings at breakfast, we arrived a busy times and either had to wait for a table to be cleared, or had to split our family of 4 onto 2 x tables. Not a huge problem, but the experience could have been improved by preventing that. Intended as helpful feedback, rather than criticism.
The breakfast is excellent. The chef is a very friendly guy.
Great breakfast and very accommodating chef, offered alternatives, even if not on menu. Great to have WiFi and slept very well. Obviously and old building, but some of it's characteristics give it that something extra and not the boring brand new build effect. Off road parking a bonus. Overall just the job for our short visit and would gladly use again or recommend to others.
Toiletries/tea/coffee/biscuits low or missing as if not topped up from previous guest(s). Water pressure in shower low, tap water came and went. Several marks on carpet and bedroom/en suite could do with freshening up. Shower floor mat dirty and only medium size towels supplied, but adequate. Feather cushions supplied even though stated not to have. Please note: we had started a list of points which were left on the bedside cabinet, some of these had been sorted on our return. Only issue with breakfast was the running out of jam.
Friendly staff. Parking facilities. Close to City Centre. Enjoyable breakfast.
Having to climb three flights of stairs to our room which was ok for one night but would not wish to stay longer as there is no lift.
Easy walk from the railway station, friendly and helpful greeting on arrival, comfortable and clean rooms and an easy walk into city. My husband, son, granddaughter and I traveled by train from Newcastle, arrived at York at 11.00am, walked to Holgate Bridge guest accom, booked in, unpacked, quick wash and brush up and walked into heart of city by noon. Breakfasts were lovely and nicely served.Well recommended. Many thanks
The position of the guest House was very good to site see York.
Breakfasts were nice, and beds were comfortable. Staff very pleasant as were the people of York. Nice to have a private bath with a modern shower right across from room. Very efficient and quick breakfast service with large selection of additional items like cereal. Really helped start the day out right.
Only drawbacks were waiting for staff at reception as they were also working in B&B next door. Room was very warm at night as we had to close the storm window to keep out street noise. Had to request hot water to be turned on in the shower.
the staff were very friendly Guesthouse was clean and warm Beds were comfy Breakfast was lovely
Location and comfortable bed in room
Not being shown to room Not aware of breakfast choices/ shown items for breakfast jams etc Wet shower mat on arrival No soap to wash hands used shower gel complementarys for two days! Not able to use WiFi Tea and biscuits not replaced daily only having one cup of tea each for a day Not informed what to do if a fire was to happen Not asked a choice of how to have your breakfast
staff friendly and helpful. good breakfast. beds very comfortable. plenty of parking..
no where to put toiletries in bathroom as shelf very tiny.
broken screen in the bathroom and other broken facilities. Room too small.
The manager was friendly and helpful, the location was perfect for my needs. My room was very small but adequate for a single night. Fair value for such a busy hotel. Very useful car park to the rear of the hotel and only a short walk into the city centre.
I had to open the window to let some air in, due to it being a small room. This led to quite a bit of external noise, particularly in the morning. There were some black marks on the bedding, although it appeared to be clean.
Perfectly located for walking from the station and then back I nto the city centre.
The road was quite noisy in our room and if your aren't used to road noise (which I'm not) you notice it. It didn't stop me sleeping though! Apart from the pedestrian crossing beeping a bit...
