Price a Little high for young couples wanting to have holidays

The rooms where nice and big, the hot water was hot, the staff where helpful and polite.

The staff was very friendly and nice. I really liked the view from the room and the lake behind the hotel. The floor in the room was also very clean. Overall, the hotel had a cozy and nice atmosphere.

First of all, and most importantly, WIFI is too expensive. I believe it should be a free service. Most hotels provide it for free. It was very expensive. Second of all, the room I was staying at had one of those old and extremely inconvenient faucets that was split between cold and hot water. The water didn't mix because the faucet was split between the two so I would end up getting cold and hot water instead of warm water.

The location was great and the room we had was excellent and very quiet. Staff were very very helpful and pleasant.

The bedding. The quilt was poor quality and not warm enough. The pillows were very uncomfortable. Food a little expensive £5 ish for a bacon buttie??

Don't be fooled by the out dated exterior the inside was bright and airy with modern furnishings. Both rooms we had were adequate, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice, hot and plenty off it with a good choice for everyone's taste. Pool was small and busy but it was a bank holiday weekend. Good access on and off the motorway. The reception staff were also very helpful.

Poor service in the restaurant. Waited ages to be served. Twenty minutes for the drinks to turn up and then my wife was presented with a bottle of beer without a glass. When asked if we could have a glass, we were told they didn't have any suitable glasses! Eventually a glass turned up. Three our of the four meals were very nice the other one was horrible. Because of the expensive meals and drinks, together with the poor service we didn't eat our dinner in the main restaurant the next night. My wife and I paid for an executive double and the two kids had a standard twin. I honestly couldn't tell the difference other than we were in two separate parts of the building and we got two bottles of water and a KitKat. In my opinion, not worth paying the extra upgrade price for. Oh, and the suspicious brown lump that looked very much like a No. 2. on the carpet between the main building and the building housing the superior rooms. When we next walk past the area a second time it had been all cleared away. Again, this was not the hotels fault but didn't like all the same. Outdated posters all over the place advertising fantastic Easter deals at the hotel. Pity Easter was three weeks ago!. Its all in the details guys......

The hotel is situated out of the city centre, however it is in a lovely part of the city. We had lovely walks around the area. The room was spotless and the tea and coffee making facilities were a bonus to have in the room.

The room was very small!!! Our rate did not include breakfast so we had that added charge. In terms of value for mony I would rate it as fair.

The room was a bit tight with a young child. The room was almost filled with a double bed. The Spa was pre-booked; I advice people to book before their trip.

Naff 'music' on arrival at the lobby Plus a stench of stale smoke. Rude receptionist on arrival. No twin room available. Had to sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed. Door didn't lock. Only one bed made second day. Hair in bed. No stock in minibar or tariff. Mixer tap in bathroom didn't mix. Scalded hand. Strong smell of cannabis in corridor. Charged £23 for two lukewarm breakfasts when you said £7.99 each. Nowhere local to eat so stuck with ridiculous prices for food or go hungry. Terrible rip off. A very disappointed traveller.

The view from our window was fantastic--a little duck pond setting, complete with flowers and geese and bunnies and trees, made it almost impossible to notice how close we were to the motorway (and on that note, that proximity made it incredibly convenient to travel around the Southwest quickly and easily). All of the amenities were good or excellent, and the staff were lovely. I can't imagine a better hotel for the price (and have stayed in several that were not so good, yet cost more). This has simply become my favourite hotel in Bristol, and we will definitely be staying here the next time we're visiting relatives in the area.

I would just say, make sure to request air conditioning in your room when you book. It wasn't a problem for this trip, but our room was one of the few in the hotel without air/con, and that could have been awful in the summer.

The room was spacious and comfortable.

Wrong order delivered at dinner and then when corrected, the food was very dry. Didn't like paying £11 for breakfast when advertised as being £7.50.

Really nice staff. Very helpful Reception staff kindly sorted out our blunder regarding breakfast. Big discount from the normal tariff saw us with two nights double room for £88.

Nothing really to inspire about the hotel itself (although I had no reason to explore, and didn't). Formulaic, slightly smelly, I only chose it as a cheap bed for the weekend, given the offered discount. Fifteen quid for a "deluxe" burger and a few chips in a cup presented on a slab of wood... hmmmm... trying but coming up short. That melted cheese topping looked as though it had been melted before I even checked in. Presenting a food bill that invites a gratuity before the food has even arrived... hmmmm... leaves me puzzled.

Very good and comfortable

We went to breakfast and did not realise that at 9.30 the staff would actually take the cooked breakfast food away and there was plenty left. We were very rushed and that was a shame because it all looked very good, and there were others who missed out, we understand that lunch would be in 2.1/2 hrs so what was the rush.

The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The staff were great and willing to help and solve any query. A fantastic long weekend.

Cleanliness and overall ambience.

Bar closed too early. Not enough staff at bar and coffee bar

Friendly staff were always glad to help and we were dealt with politely even at 3am in the morning.

The waitress in the restaurant wasn't as attentive as we would of like. She actually forgot to bring us a condiment we asked for. When we reminded her she was not apologetic at all. Shame really as food was great.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The grounds were quite spacious and despite the cold weather my daughter and I had a pleasant walk-around the grounds. The staff were always helpful and the place itself and the room were clean and tidy. My daughter and I went there particularly though not exclusively to remember my late wife as we had a very pleasant stay together at this hotel back in July 2010 whilst touring the Cotswolds, Bath and Bristol.

I remember that back in 2010 my wife and I had a room which looked out onto the pond which then had running water and a fountain. On walking the grounds this time I have to say this area had a neglected look about it and there was certainly not a working fountain. Perhaps this is a summer thing that they do.
