Just to save a bit cost, hotel is heating the room once in a day in the afternoon. It was extremely cold over the night. When I asked for the heating, they told me to turn on the air condition. However, air condition is just refreshing the room, not heating.
The staff on arrival were very polite and friendly. I had a few specific needs which they were able to deal with straight away.
Nothing! I regularly travel on business. This was the first time I have stayed at a hotel where they completely met my needs!
Friendly staff and good clean facilities. Jacuzzi and sauna were just what I needed. Breakfast choice and quality was great. Staff were very friendly.
The fact that there was no free WiFi, and the paid rates were extortionate.
Hotel is too old with extremly old furniture, and poor heating system
Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms. Use of facilities such as the pool.
No different to a Holiday Inn Express but double the price. Food expensive, had room service, curry £16 and lukewarm. Expected drinking water in the room and a modern shower for a 4 star hotel.
Quiet location Free newspaper
Wifi charged for unless you join club. Cheap toiletries. No bathrobes. Banging doors. Property looking tired in certain areas.
Staff were very friendly, Room was clean and comfy Good value for price
Location is not great for access to city centre - needed to factor in cost of taxi in (approx £10 each way)
Great hotel facilities, friendly staff and excellent quality food. Nice clean bedroom
Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Facilities and location
For us, beds were too hard.Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Very close from the highway, good price, I did not use them but I have seen a swimming pool, a jaccuzi and a fitness center. Room was comfortable
We have to pay for wifi, for breakfast (which makes finally the price not so good!) and no water in the bedroom
Food, Cleanliness, and comfort were good
WiFi was painfully slow
Most important for me was the comfort of the bed and the room (we upgraded) We enjoyed good sleeps! Staff were very helpful. The bus to Cambridge is just a 10 minute walk away and runs every 20 minutes
The pool area & especially the showers and changing rooms could do with a good clean!
Room was comfortable
No biscuits in the room No free wifi Breakfast not included
we stayed here for new year and couldn't fault anything the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet even close to the time breakfast ended was fresh. The pool and leisure facilities were also good.
Exceptionally clean and welcoming. The lay out was excellent. Food and service first rate.
Good value for money. Very clean and comfortable
Just a bit too far out of town
Staff were friendly...room was clean and comfortable
Paying for wi-fi
No free wifi unless you join ihg club You get free wifi in cheaper hotels and b&bs
I could not believe that a big hotel chain did not offer free wi fi to guess and the cost was £5 a hour or £16 per day absolutely disgraceful
I think Hotels charging for WiFi or force you to provide personal information to get a WiFi ticket should be avoided
Unfortunately on booking we were not aware that the swimming pool would be closed during our stay which we would have liked use during the stay.
The rooms are spaceous, modern, clean, and very quiet (the hotel is located outside town). The beds are very comfortable with a selection of soft/hard pillows (I booked the standard twin bed) Dinner and breakfast were well prepared and the staff prompt and polite. I liked the extensive sports facility including pool and weight lifting equipment. It is definitely recommendable if one has his own car around.
1. The hotel is not inside or within walking distance from Cambridge town. I did not have my own car and I had to pay 12 pounds by taxi (each way). I was not informed by the reception whether the hotel runs a minibus service so I suppose it does not.In addition to the cost, next time I would consider the implication on planning and restriction on movement.
