Bathroom and toilets were dirty The entire hotel is not up to a 4 star hotel, not clean and needs renovation!
the hotel was clean , had a fab view of the castle . Staff were extremely friendly and the location was perfect . Close enough to shop and enjoy a good night out but far enough to beable to get a good nights sleep without all the city noise
it's hard to really fault the hotel after our stay however if I had to really scrutinize ,it would Be that the milk provided was not enough ( 1 very small carton / enough for 2 cups each only - double room) however we never asked for more so I'm sure if we did they would have obliged
Second day breakfast was fine.
First day breakfast. The help yourself buffet had queues of people waiting for hash browns, bacon, sausages and plates. Bed was narrow.
The pleasant staff , cleanliness of the rooms and breakfast served at the hotel.
The non repairs of faulty lights and none working telephone line in room 306 had to walk downstairs to report a leaking bath tub which appears to have been there for a long time unattended to . Water was leaking a lot when the shower was in use . Repairs need to be done before allocating rooms to customers . As a couple we had a lot of confidence in Holiday Inn Hotels due to the lovely experience we had in Bournemouth last year.
we loved the room, the bed was really comfortable.the staff in reception were very friendly and helpfull and made us feel wellcome
we liked everything.we would come again.
Particularly enjoyed the breakfast. Something to suit all tastes! Dining area nicely arranged to afford privacy for all diners.
Would have liked two armchairs but this is a minor consideration.
Friendly approachable staff.
Room was very small.
the excellent view from the panorama window. the beautiful flowing river and the green woods in the distance. and the nightly space like view of the city lights. a very happy, cheerful, helpful and pretty housemaid. everything a guest needs. a lovely bathroom with all necessary needs, tea tray and very comfortable beds with a pillow menu. nothing to dislike or complain about x :) thank you x
The hotel is old and tired. Rooms are small and tired and food was poor. I stay away at least 3 nights a week in all standards of hotels and was very disappointed in this hotel
Everything and also the complimentary bottle of. Wine and birthday card was a lovely gesture
The member of staff on reception when I checked in was very friendly, the location is great for shopping, and the view of the park is great. The room is (generally - see dislikes for further comment) clean.
I have rated the hotel lower than usual for cleanliness and comfort as I stood on a shard of glass which punctured my foot, so I requested that someone come up to vacuum the room. They did, and it sounded like the room had not been vacuumed recently (sounded like lots of dirt was vacuumed up). I cleaned my foot up and it seemed ok, but I walked round the room with my trainers on for the remainder of the stay.
Location and staff
Load hen/stagg parties till early hours.
top floor water pressure both shower and toilet could be better.
Carpets could do with a clean in most of the rooms our group had.
Being at the city center especially near the millenium stadium
Not having a gymbin the premises, no robe in the rooms, keep asking for toiletories everyday and couldn't get a can opener anywhere in the hotel were some of the few things that were lacking.
Very friendly welcome, helpful staff, good value for money. Great location.
Breakfast got cold quick as air conditioning on in the breakfast room.
All except the parking
Parking was far to expensive
Great location. Lovely bar and restaurant
Air conditioning in bar and dining room rather cold, especially if sitting in its draught. No air-conditioning in rooms No free-to-all internet Bathrooms in room quite tired
Nice Breakfast Location Staff Clean
Smokers outside hotel when arriving because garden was taken Rooms need upgrading with a lick of paint and need a walk in shower!!!
Location, being within 10 mins walk of the station, opposite the park and the castle, near the shopping mall etc, was good. The bed was comfortable.
The noise; there was a party going on within the hotel with very loud music which was highly irritating in our 'quiet room' until 11.30pm. We had ordered 1 x continental breakfast room service; on checking-out, the Reception staff tried to charge us for a cooked breakfast; and then after checking, agreed the price for a continental breakfast but then tried to charge us an additional £3 fee 'tray charge', which we refused to pay - they could not explain how breakfast could be delivered without a tray!
Everything no faults anywhere
Rooms were small but very clean, lifts clean and main reception area very welcoming.
Poor breakfast, nobody offered us tea and coffee, hot buffet at one point only had tomatoes. Waited for bacon, sausage, scrambled egg and hash brown- gave up waiting for black pudding and mushrooms. No white bread out for toast and cranberry juice in fridge not refilled. Member of staff who manned the bar didn't seem to know what she was doing when pouring pints.
Reception staff not interested in customer queries.
Excellent accommodating staff - especially Aimee Compact yet comfortable room. Good view Excellent AC Reasonably priced convenient parking.
Restaurant closed early. Short of staff behind bar - people left waiting as young chap seemed to be sharing duties between bar and restaurant....which was closed!!! Shortage of front desk staff around check out time....queues forming.
