Situated between the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Castle, this hotel is a perfect base for business and leisure guests, following its extensive refurbishment completed in January 2008. With a fantastic location in the center of the city, the hotel has 157 fully air conditioned bedrooms with great views of the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Castle. The modern, comfortable lounge and bar are ideal for a drink or light snack. Junction Restaurant offers a menu and choices from the specials board. The hotel is easy to reach from highway M4. Cardiff Central train station is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel and Cardiff Airport is a 30 minute drive. With the center of the city only minutes away you can enjoy the great shopping or visit one of the many vibrant new restaurants and bars. I have always stayed at the Holiday Inn when I travel. However, I found my double room pokey and some staff, although willing to help somewhat sombre, no smiling faces as at The Holiday Inn in Seaton Burn, Northumberland.

Noise at night from other guests misbehaving in the corridor. Hen and Stag groups spoiled the bar experience :we went elsewhere when we were planning to stay and have a meal.

Location is excellent,pretty much in the city centre. Reasonable price. We only stayed one night so didn't really have a good 'look around'. But all in all we would stay again. Were told at reception when checking in we were allocated a large room. We were put in a disabled room for some reason? It didn't really bother us apart from the bathroom-bit uncomfortable with the hand rails in the shower,and 'high' toilet. No point in asking to move rooms just for one night. I'm sure there wouldn't have been a problem had we requested a move though?

The staff were really nice and helpful, always willing to help. Had to buy vouchers the night before in order to get breakfast at £9.99 rather then pay the standard rate of £14.99. So only helpful staff would advise you to buy vouchers the night before.

Everything. Staff, room (perfect size both double and twin room) nice shower, nice bathroom. And I had a view to cardiff castle and the bute park! Awesome Not really a problem but the shower pressure was soo good (amazing shower) that the evasion of water wasn't enough. :)

Great location for Cardiff shopping and sightseeing. The standard rooms we booked were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was reasonably palatable. But the best bit was the staff - they were unfailingly pleasant and helpful throughout the stay, and came across as a real asset to Holiday Inn. Room temperature centrally controlled by the hotel and at 20Celsius on a couple of mild Feb days it was too warm in the rooms (windows have the usual limiters fitted so they helped very little). Why cant the rooms allow use of their control panels and individually select a lower temp? Would have liked an in-room fridge, too.

Clean comfortable convenient. Staff v helpful at booking taxis. Embarrassed to enter our first allocated room to find a couple in bed (sorry) but reception staff sorted out quickly and gave us a better room.

The location was superb for our trip and was a great spot for cricket, shopping and city life. The parking was a extra £10 and the drinks and food in the bar were extortionate, there is no need to be charging these prices for residents when you have already paid for a room, breakfast and parking.
