Location. Receptionist. Night manager.
Cleanliness of the bathroom. Executive room booked, but no slippers, no bathrobes, no shampoo available.
Staff were awesome and rooms were great - better than the Hilton and bigger in size. Really liked the indoor pool and the restaurant - especially the pancake machine!
Having to leave. Felt like I was leaving my home and Colchester Inn family behind.
Breakfast quality of food poor
Good location, good facilities, quiet and spacious rooms, good food choice.
Swimming pool a bit dirty, jacuzzi not working.
Nice clean room, comfy bed, TV and a lovely breakfast buffet. Staff were very friendly, even the room maids.
Just the mushrooms at breakfast, very chewy and not very pleasant, other than that, everything was fine!
Friendly and helpful staff. Public rooms well appointed.
Bedroom needed refreshing. Surprised no double glazing. Bar staff could not produce a whisky Mac; no ginger wine! I thought breakfast rather overpriced.
Food and Drink excellent, room ok.
Wi-Fi terrible we have apple a always need a good connect.
Room was nice Staff very friendly Breakfast was good
Food in the bar wasn't great
Fair value, nice room and comfy bed. Smiley staff.
It took over an hour to book in and then room key did not work. When booking out after two nights we were asked to pay for one of the nights when we had already paid.
The atmosphere was great & contributed nicely to a very comfortable stay.
Nice staff only downside was I was on the second floor there was no lift and I was on my own with a baby and all the clobber. The staff however did help me x
The Jacuzzi is not working... we booked the hotel to relax and use the facilities advertized but the jacuzzi is broken;(
Liked the location
Didn't like the pool was cold, some was closed off. The room was cold.
Fire alarm going off several times in the very early morning
poor water pressure in room took ages to fill bath and shower hardly worked
The swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms.
The bar prices were too expensive.
Friendly staff. Nice room.
Relaxed yet efficient
Paying for Wifi
Dee the receptionist on departure, bed was comfortable
Room was dated, bathroom grimy, dead bugs in light shade, peeling paint and grubby carpets...noisy next to train track carrying freight traffic every twenty mins, walls to connecting rooms thin and could hear most things including toilet activities not pleasant
The swimming pool - nice to have garden view from the pool The food was plentiful and tasty - great breakfast The hotel seemed peaceful, despite a conference taking place
My Caesar salad was a bit of a rip-off - £9.50 for lettuce, boiled egg and some parmesan shavings is a bit steep (tasty though and just what I needed in the evening after a large family lunch)
WIFI at £16 a night. Ludicrous rip off. I used 4G instead.
Restaurant food was awful and disappointing (except breakfast)
room was large and comfortable. restaurant within hotel was fine quality and enjoyed breakfast.
Not much drink selection at the bar. noise from train is annoying (needs insulating wall and trees). Wifi is very expensive so not ideal for staying several days.
Beautiful grounds. Comfortable room. Very friendly staff.
Very basic facilities but room and bed were comfortable. Shower wasn't great.
Staff are smiley most of the time
Most rooms have interconnecting door, and you can hear everything from the next door, and they can hear you. After requesting and granted a late checkout at 1.30pm, the housekeeping staff knocked on my door at 12 asking when i will vacate the room as she wants to finish work and go home No scanner was available for use No tv remote was found in my room. The front desk actually took one from another room and gave it to me.
