Air con was noisy

Claire in Reservations was very helpful and got us the right rooms for our requirements. Rooms were large, well cleaned and breakfast plentiful. Free internet was a huge bonus, nice to see a company not charging for something as important as wifi and the speed was good too. Perhaps worth installing a blocker for bit torrent downloads though. All in all, the hotel does represent good value for money.

Paying for parking wasn't ideal but for the centre of town, we understand why and charging tickets to the room was a nice touch. Would have preferred a few more healthy options at breakfast (though by no means bad) and swimming facilities would have been nice.

The cleanliness, the staff.

The smoking room we initially got.The bathroom door hitting the wardrobe door, very cramped.The television didnt work for most of the stay stuck on one channel.

Its location was great as its in the middle of the heart of Derby day life i,e near railway station and shopping center.and in general it was superb hotel and i am graded as 9 of 10

I could not find any thing wrong to focus on or it came to my attention

Me and the mrs stayed on saturday the 13th of april, staff seemed helpfull enough the room was nice and modern and very clean, shoping center and town is on the doorstep and nightlife a 7 minute walk away, drinks at the bar were pricey but so are all hotels but theres a spar around the corner which sells eveything I would stay there again

Only bad point really is theres no parking that I knew off, had to park on the westfield car park which was£15 for 24hrs

deco friendly staff

The staff were really good, very friendly and went that extra mile to help us during our stay. The gentleman on reception organised for our dog to be walked while we were out on the night. This to me is above normal service for a hotel and it will be recommending the hotel when we visit family again

Breakfast service was a bit lax but nothing to complain about

The room was excellent, clean, comfy. Located in the centre of city.

Went to the bar for a beer but the price was way to high, and the price of breakfast was more suited to politicians wages not the working man/woman £13.50? no money spent in the hotel.

Location very good and very nice room. Would stay again if iin Derby.

The Bar was said to be open until late but when we returned from the cinema at 10.45pm it was already closed. We had a fire alarm at 1.30am and followed the fire signs from our room (321). When we were allowed back in, we realised that we were actually in another hotel. It was very confusing for us and for many other guests when trying to return to our rooms. I think it would have been polite and appreciated if the receptionist the following morning had apologise for the inconvenience or a note under the door thanking us for our co-operation. Hopefully after this fire alarm, a few lessons have been learnt.

The cleanliness of the rooms is superb and cannot be faulted. The staff were highly efficient as well as polite and friendly. The location of the hotel in terms of accessibility to shops, restaurants and bars is also excellent. The car park is the Westfield Shopping Centre car park, the hotel day rate is £7, which is a far reduced sum from the normal rate and only a short walk from the hotel. In total for two nights, including breakfast for a lovely double room, £196 including parking. Can't really better that.

As in my previous comment the car park is not linked directly to the hotel, something that is not made clear on the Hotel's website or details received. We basically stumbled into the Westfield car park, having found ourselves locked into the traffic filter system. As it turned out it was right, but there were a few anxious moments in discovering this. The hotel is also to the left of a ground floor casino. We were in room 207 and upon returning to our room on the Friday night called to complain about loud music. It turned out this was coming from the aforementioned. So my advice is to check this point when booking and request a room as far away from the source of sound as possible, it was so loud the lights vibrated. Other than that though the stay and staff made up for it, but speaking as an acoustician, this is a major issue that needs resolving.

The tv in our room did not work, once reported to reception, the duty manager came to have a look and after fiddling with a few wires and turning it on and off still couldn't resolve the issue. She claimed that she couldn't swap us rooms as the hotel was 'overbooked'.

Me and my husband really enjoyed the stay but my friends will not go again because they order room service and was told it would be 5 mins 15 mins later and the drinks still hadn't come so we had to ring again they said that there will be s 3.00 tray charge in the book it said 2.50 there bed was also broke which they didn't find out until 2.30 am wen they went to bed which was to late to tell anybody .

Friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious room.

Very close to bus station and only a short walk into Friar gate with loads of bars and restaurants. Very close to Westfield as well. Pretty much everything we needed was a short walk and only a 4 pound cab ride to train station (which we could have walked if we weren't lazy!)

The hotel was clean well located,the room was of very good standard. staff were very polite.

I stayed at Derby Riverlights so that I could attend the nearby Download Festival. The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the railway station, and directly opposite a shopping district. My room was quiet and very comfortable (I booked a double room for the space), and I found the staff friendly and professional. Given how many guests were tramping mud through the halls (from the festival grounds), the staff were very understanding! I was impressed both with the accommodation and the level of service.

The restaurant (Stresa) was disappointing. Though the service was good, the overall quality of the food was surprisingly average. As an example, I ordered a simple spaghetti bolognaise - the small serving of pasta was drowned in a runny sauce. Not what I'd expected! There's better value food in the adjacent shopping district.

Great central location. 2 mins walk from bars / restaraunts. 2 mins walk from secure car park.

On-site car park would be a bonus, but due to close proximity of 24 hrs secure car park, this was not an issue for me.
