Seems pretty new, modern, very clean comfortable rooms
Staff friendliness. Hotel cleanliness. Good location for city centre.
Noisy Air conditioning
Room, facilities, and staff who were very helpful.
Breakfast choice was a little disappointing.
Clean, functional room. Short walk from everything in the centre
Bed a bit soft and pillows too flat. Key card not activated so had to return to reception, same happened on last stay
How clean it was. where the location was
There's nothing not to like
Hotel was very modern and all staff were helpful, happy to book taxis and provide forgotten toiletries. The night staff however made our stay, the night manager (Sorry we cant remember his name) was very accommodating and helped us when our room key mysteriously broke. Breakfast was pretty good and night time attire isnt questioned (but no bare feet!) Bar is open until late and we managed to get j2os at 3am (for a small fee of 5 pounds). We could leave luggage in reception after checking out which we really liked. Thanks again for a lovely stay well definitely be back! (Youll be glad to hear!) Warning: Night time visitors are not allowed they ask for your name at the door!
Wifi isnt worth the effort. Forgot to take the clean our room sign off and the maid came in and was not impressed. No night time visitors!
The room was spotlessly clean and the shower was spacious.
The staff at reception did not appear very friendly or welcoming. The bar staff, even though polite, didn't seem to have the experience. Our wine was served in soaking wet glasses. When I asked to have something to dry them, the barman simply said that they were like that because they had just come out of the dishwasher but didn't offer to do anything about it. The mattress on the bed was awful. The slightest movement made the whole mattress move, often waking either my partner or myself. It was like sleeping on a water bed. The bedroom doors automatically bang shut. This woke us several times in the night with guests returning to their rooms. The room does not provide adequate space to unpack your case. There is hanging space but practically nowhere for anything else. And finally, the heating system did not appear to work and again, we were woken in the night with the heating apparatus on the wall making all sorts of noises. All-in-all, a real let-down. We shall not be recommending this hotel.
Room setting was nice, sofa there to relax, good Size study table. Walk in shower nice One.
Not really a problem, as we overall enjoyed our stay but the Walls in 1602 were scuffed and marked made the room little bit shabby
Brilliant hotel, lovely staff, breakfast was good minus the eggs, but lots of choice. Room lovely; was quite chilly though. Location great! Highly recommended
Location was OK Staff helpful
Room was icy Menu was dire, arrived at 9.30pm and choice of Burger, Pizza , Nachos Breakfast juices ran out and machine was dispensing clear water
stayed twice now. £44 for a huge en suit room with a very comfortable bed and Great view. Friendly staff. Breakfast included is a good price.
Tv was too far from the bed or too small for the room. Never enough milk for two in rooms. Although there was a great breakfast selection the sausage was burnt and dry as well as scrambled eggs dry. Hot drinks machine not working and staff seem to loiter far too much which made me uncomfortable. Although they call the breakfast 'free' I very much doubt that's the case, I imagine the room would be cheaper without it.
Room had an extra bed which shouldnt have been there. poor wifi that did not work when i booked it said free parking but this was not the case, had to pay an expensive price at the Angus car park. Staff couldnt explain where the car park was which was awful them not knowing how to explain directions.
The room , the bed , the location
You have to wait for your turn in line to check in , and they close the hotel door at 11pm , i got a room for 2 and i invited my friend to stay with me but they didnt allow him in
The staff just really seemed like they couldn't be bothered and when I asked to move rooms as the one I booked did not match the one they gave me There was no apology. And the evening doorman think they are the blooming gestapo! Treat your guests with respect
Hotel was clean and very quiet, no doors banging at 3am! Location is walking distance to bullring etc. Shower was huge. Staff on reception were very helpful!
No bacon at breakfast, sausage was fried and did not taste of much! Parking was expensive even with 50% discount for guests of the hotel. No food available until 6.30pm in the restaurant so had to go out for dinner as we needed to be at a gig for 8pm
Good rooms, lots of space, comfortable, very thoughtful staff, nice breakfast.
The room was freezing cold when I arrived and took a long time to heat up. I had a bad night as a result, unable to get warm. With the economy-saving electricity systems in hotels these days, if none has been in the room for a while, it gets very cold indeed with no heating on.
Good room with space and comfortable
Very poor food with transport cafe presentatión. They could have done exactly the same but presented it in a better environment and it would have been a better experience.
Ideal for visiting Aston University
Friendly service and advice. Good breakfast, sensible layout for self-service.
room carpets covered in hair which ended up all over my trousers! Eventually brushed clean, but covered bed counterpane. Despite the hair showing,it was put back on the bed each time!!!!. Also needed bathroom extras,as advertised but they didn't have anything, which caused some inconvenience.
A more comfortable bar/lounge area
We were in Birmingham for a night out so served the purpose for a few hours sleep
Quiet area of town
We have stayed here before in November to visit the NEC & to meet with some local friends. Really enjoyed our visit, so close to shopping (for Xmas) so had no hesitation in stopping for our football team visit to WBA & to meet up with our local friends again, superb stay, highly recommended.
A little disappointed with the breakfast choice, tried the scrambled eggs but just didn't taste edible. But this is just myself being picky. Everything was excellent.
