Everything is nice
friendly staff .. always clean, good location for Colchester and A12
to soft a matress for me .not enugh tables to sit at while having breakfast..a lounge chair is not the best ,
Excellent response when I had a problem with a blocked wash basin in the room.
The lasagne was a bit rubbery!!
The shower tray didn't drain well, the window let in too much noise and didn't sleep, no water fountain in reception, and breakfast is dire
Evening meal, very poorly cooked. No lemon for tea, I always drink lemon tea.
Welcoming very capable and alert staff who responded quickly and efficiently to our needs. The facilities were excellent, very well designed and built. Free and readily available WiFi and free breakfast too, what more could we want..
Bed and noise
Pleasant staff , very clean , good food , Tea and coffee in the rooms , great facilities .
The Mattress on our bed was so soft it dipped and forced you to roll together and meet in the middle.
The warmth and friendliness of the staff, a quiet, luxurious room. I've bad memories of short stays in hotels. Not due to hotels themselves. I was in a job which involved some traveling and it was an unhappy time of my life. My stay at the Holiday Inn helped heal these bad memories.
The choice of cooked breakfast was a bit limited. I was surprised to see there wasn't any bacon.
The staff The room The breakfast
The bed was not firm enough
I like firm pillow , wife likes fluffy, so a choice was excellent!
Breakfast buffet could have been more exciting.a
Room was good
Food was clearly not restaurant food!
Bed sunk to the middle. Not comfortable for two people. Breakfast just 'ok'.
Decor of the room
The environment is white neat and calm. The fact that the hotel is situated far from redidential arena is also good in its own right. The food served at the restaurant is also not bad.
The rooms are just too small. The bathroom is also a bit small. The staff needs to be a bit more warm to visitors. The security is a bit porouse as it appears anyone can just walk in and walk out without questions asked.
Good hotel Somewhat out of town but ok for us as we were en route elsewhere Evening meal was reasonable & breakfast adequate - usual HIE offering Staff were very helpful
If we had been there for more than 1 night it was too isolated for convenient car-less exploring There were no buses nearby Once I arrive I prefer a break from driving
We stop here regulary as we visit our son and grandsons in Colchester and when we have had enough we can come back to the peace and luxury of the hotel and dine in the restaurant and a night cap drink from the bar and chat with the friendly staff. Very enjoyable
Can t really fault it.Only thing I would say is waking up in the middle of the night in the blacked out bedroom it would be nice to catch a glimpse of a digital clock to see how much longer we can sleep for.We are always sorry to leave. But book as soon as we can to get a good price rate.
spacious rooms style and feel of
coffee machine broken at breakfast noise from other guests
The staff were amazing. We were up very late and a very large group in reception/bar area. The staff joined in with our conversations and were very helpful re taxis etc.
From a woman's perspective the mirrors and lighting aren't great for getting ready!
Intoxicated night clubbers arriving after a night out between 1.00 and 4.00am with blatant disregard for other residents and with no control from staff/management. Smokers area is the main entrance to hotel. Isolated location of hotel seems to increase price of the bar and food.
Good location for our requirements (to see family). Spacious room, very clean with friendly staff.
TV waking us up at 5am! Bed was softer than we would have liked. Surprisingly, no bacon available for breakfast!
Helpful staff especially Deborah on reception and housekeeping , cleanliness and nice room with good facilities.Represented good value for money when booked through Booking.com
Attention to the breakfast which could have been warmer but all things considered good value for money
Excellent value for money
Evening menu rather restrictive and 'eating area' was very bland and cold
Could have been cleaner
Bed felt a lil soft but that just personal preference
