Score from 1515 reviews Very good
The staff were friendly and the room was clean.
The fan in the room was quite noisy during the night and it was difficult to sleep through.
Parking facilities away from hotel
Staff helpful with everything and friendly
near Manchester facilities and station as we travelled by train
Staff and reception, superb, chatty friendly breathe of fresh air for what is usually a stagnate sterile enviro in big chain big city hotel.
Breakfast a little sparse. No bacon.
Hotel was quiet for large city
Breakfast was limited and of poor quality, plus you usually had to wait for items to appear
The location was good. They helped me for 2 hours late check-out. The breakfast was ok.
The shower was dirty, there were used razors at the shower. The cleaning was dissapointing. In addition, the room was dark.
Location was convenient for Oxford Road Station
Staff greeting was not welcoming. Breakfast was limited. Bed was very soft
nothing was to much trouble for your excellent staff. perhaps a bit more variation on breakfast menu
Clean, comfortable and very helpful staff. Good location within easy distance of every where. Plenty of choice for breakfast. good bus service running every few minutes to Piccadilly gardens.A nice touch was if you have forgotten anything eg razor combs toothbrush ask reception and they will supply a replacement free of chsrge
no car park.
Near car park
No bacon at breakfast
The smell of damp in the room. Large patch of wet rot by bathroom door. The nightclub 20 yards away across a canal pumping music until 0400 was not good. We should have been warned about this.
As far as the hotel itself went it was excellent. It was clean, the bedroom was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. The manager was really friendly and helpful too. We came to visit the Xmas markets and it was a mere stones throw away from these. The breakfast had a limited choice, however it was nice to have hot items on the menu.
I have stayed in lots of hotels in my life and I can honestly say it was the worst nights sleep I've ever had in a hotel! Our room backed onto a club and the music went on into the early hours. Young clubbers came in after kicking out time and they were shouting in the hall and slamming doors. On top of this our room heater seemed to make some strange wooshing noise all night. All in all The hotel location was not ideal!
The staff were friendly, the room was clean & perfect for our 1 night stay over in Manchester
Location is perfect
Room service cleaning was not so good
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We were able to leave our luggage securely after we'd checked out until our train was due. The room was spacious and the location was good for the university and the city. The breakfast was very good and the general layout of the hotel is attractive.
Some problems with the central heating. It would help if the control panel had a light in it to make it easier to read the dials. Generally the room was a bit dimly lit and a second chair would have been nice.
The location, the staff, cleanness and everything else!
the welcoming and helpful staff. the coffee/tea bar in the reception where we could wait till our taxi arrived even after we had vacated our room in the morning.
the access to the wifi which required a personal log-in and a personal password. most hotels have a blanket password which they give to all the guests.
Smart clean room inc. tea making facilities. Breakfast a bonus.
No Bacon at breakfast
- free wifi works ok - excellent location if you don't wanna stay far away from the universities - there is bus station in front of the hotel and you can take shuttle bus number 2 to the city centre free of charge.
- poor breakfast
Great location next to Oxford Road Station and spacious room with everything you need.
Noise despite asking for a quite room. Was given room 902 which I found noisey especially ? Heating
Too much noise from outside and poor hairdryer.
Room was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice, and decent coffee. The location is great. 24Hhr shops next door and next to the train station. Nice shower!
NO windows in the room that could be opened, so it got pretty stale. The toilet was faulty and made noises all night. But it was fixed the next day. Although booking.com confirmed that we could check-out late at 1pm, the hotel was not aware of this and we had to check-out earlier. Booking.com also confirmed that the room was changed to a single double bed but the hotel again wasn't aware of this and initially gave us a twin single bed room not a double room. But this was not a problem as they did give us a double bed room. No free wi-fi for more than 24hours and the internet speed was pretty slow.
