Staff were excellent and they were very friendly. Food was delicious. Facilities brilliant.
The hotel should have more rooms with grab rails by the bath and toilet so disabled visitors don't have to fret that the room isn't going to be suitable.
Cleanliness of breakfast lounge and quality of breakfast - less than good
Staff was good and had a complimetary breakfast when we told them that the mattress was not comfortable. Location is excellent (close to Tescos, Surrey research park, surrey sports complex and university of Surrey). Clean hotel.
The mattress was not very comfy
very pleasent staff and clean place
over zealous cleaners banging on door in the morning recomend use of the do not disturb sign
Lovely friendly staff.
No free wifi anywhere in the hotel is ridiculous. There are a lot of hotels in G'ford I've no reason to go back to this one.
Size of rooms, location, facilities
Dated and could have been great. Took a long time to check in. Air con needs updating too.
Size of room and bathroom Nearness to reception for my husband who can not walk far.
Bedside table had lots of ants crawling all over it. We did not notice them until the morning and then we reported it to housekeeping and to reception Just made me feel very itchy all the day until I could have another shower and wash my hair at home.
The hotel suits all our needs when we visit our daughter attending the University. It is close to everything as far as our needs are concerned Parking is great and the hotel itself has all that is necessary for our needs as a regular visitor Staff are very friendly and attentive which is refreshing
I have no negative feedback to make
Location and VERYgood professional staff
Convenience of location and friendliness and helpfulness of staff - especially front desk and 'Tracey' in breakfast room.
Beds were uncomfortable and the general ambience is now 'tired'. The restaurant food (dinner) was truly awful. We were told that "a new chef is starting next week" so we gave it a second try. If anything it was worse so we ate out very other evening when we would really have preferred to eat in. Breakfast was OK - there is little they can do to mess that up I suppose - although everything did seem to have spent too much time under the heat lamps. All in all a great disappointment. I stayed here many times when it was in Forte's hands and the restaurant was always excellent in those days. My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon here in 2000 - a Holiday Inn at that time as I recall - and this was a great let down on our return as standards of accommodation and food have slipped greatly. What a shame!
Good accommodation, mainly good weather, considerate and helpful staff, good access to road network and public transport, prompt service. What's not to like ?
we lived and worked in the Guildford area 50 years ago ( I saw the cathedral go up from my office window). Everything is much more hectic and crowded now and the bottom end of Guildford town is positively ugly ! Luckily the high street (of fond memory) and the river area are still attractive.
Staff friendly & always willing to help Plenty of car parking Large choice at breakfast
Having to pay for wifi
Room was a good size Breakfast choice Spirit health club
Very good receptionist and restaurant service
The bedroom furnishings and pillows
Dining area was not particularly slick - dirty pot for milk. Poor coffee Poor quality bread for breakfast. No ginger and lemon teabags. porr selction in the room. Interconnecting door allows all noise from next room. No Radio 6 channel 707 on the TV
Lovely hotel and ambience. Health club looked great although didn't use it this time round.
difficult to park close by to reception to unload bags and check in
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The internet was not free.
Very expensive WIFI
Loved it all. The room was lovely. The food was excellent. Everything was very clean. The staff were all friendly an polite.
There was nothing i didn't like.
Not a lot - the staff were pleasant.
I paid for breakfast but couldn't have it as it did not start until 7:30 and Iw as to be at Goodwood for 8. This is surprising as even smaller pubs were opening nearby for Goodwood breakfasts. I could hear every word of the conversation from the people in the next room and even when they went to the toilet! As i had a young son with me(age 5) i eventually had to knock on their door at midnight and ask politely if they could try and talk more quietly. This seemed unfair as they were doing nothing wrong. The room was very dated and for £134, i would have expected far more. I would not stay here again if offered a room for free for those reasons. Thjat said, the staff were nice and offered me a discount which I declined as i had already paid when they asked me if all was ok, i was in a ruch and the discount would not have given me any more sleep. On my way home from Goodwood, i had to stop in a layby and grab half an hours sleep as i was still so tired.
Fitness facilities, location
A bit pricey.
Pretty good really
Sheets were rough
Free car parking, room available before 12 noon
They charge for wi fi!!! Glad I had my smart phone with me but for families with children it would be a pain
Nice welcome, clean and very comfortable rooms.
I cant believe that Holiday Inn still don't offer free WiFi as a paying quest even at a standard bandwidth. The prices are very over priced for the WiFi option indeed.
