The facilities were lovely - especially the pool as the water was warm.
Room comfort Extra amenities (swimming pool, gym and room service)
One meal was very poor value for money ('rainbow salad/grain & halloumi'). Just green wilting leaves, poorly cooked grain with no dressing and the halloumi was cold, congealed and unappetising. The salad was also significantly delayed and I had to send a reminder.
Cleanliness of room and comfort. Friendly courteous staff
Facilities and comfort.
Staff at reception on arrival, behind the bar and housekeeping were rude. Not just to us. several other guests commented also. Bar prices are expensive.
I had booked sofa bed but it was not prepared. I rang staff to get it sorted. She said she will speak to the DM and come back to me but never came back to me. We had to manage with double bed only.
Location Staff Small gym Pool
Breakfast: Understaffed - but staff working incredibly hard; Milk off; Waited for ordered food; Room: Door keys working inconsistently; Furnishings stained; No milk on first day; TV remote needed repairing; Lack of sheets/ extra covers; Received a unplanned wake-up call one morning!
Rooms fine Breakfast fine Access and car parking very easy Staff were very helpful
Long corridors with stairs and no lift.
Good quality hotel, little noise and easy parking.
Swimming pool Staffs professional Breakfast superb and rich Cleanliness Value for money Facilities
Small room Small toilet
Standard room meant we ended up with two single beds in our anniversary not very romantic! Room not very clean full of cobwebs and dust.
The Staff very good, the hotel overall very nice indeed. Good Location and plenty of parking front and rear. Very quiet room no noise at all.
Was allocated to a Disabled room which was not needed, did change us for a standard double. This was rather small and the bathroom a struggle to swing around in. Good job we were not on the larger side or would have really struggled.
A very well organised and clean hotel.
The internet connection I had was very poor. And this was a key requirement for me on this trip.
We were upgraded to an executive room which was very nice. The choice of food at breakfast was excellent and of a good quality.
We where down for the speed weekend at Foxhall stadium, plenty parking for our van and trailer, rooms good, bar and food good. Even got breakfast to take away as we left before breakfast started.
One of our rooms was not cleaned but the staff gave us bar vouchers and made thinks right.
Nice sized clean room. Lovely welcome at reception and friendly bar staff.
wifi was very expensive! Not even free in communal areas.
Location excellent for our purposes, ample free parking. Reception staff were friendy and helpful on our arrival. Breakfast was adequate or perhaps I am being a little unkind - it was pretty much like any breafast at a hotel chain
Excessive charges for WIFI - £16.00 per day???? (in truth we did not pay that we got four hours for free by signing up to a 'IHG rewards club') This was enough for our needs
Surprisingly clean, good breakfast. A comfortable room. The staff in the Bar were exceedingly polite and well trained. Convenient location and great value for money. Great car park!
No lift and long corridors!
Breakfast was not included in the price of the room, although it was indicated as such when we made the booking with Booking.com
Lovely quiet room. Staff welcoming especially as we arrived quite early, but room was ready. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff were very helpful
Bathroom a tight squeeze, but wasn't really a problem
Friendly courteous staff on check in and at meal times.
Smoking area directly outside entrance. Smelt very bad and had to pass through smokers to enter holiday inn.
Bed was a bit small but I have a superking.
I had travelled from Huddersfield to stop here . Just the site of the place was relaxing and refreshing with its extensive lawns and ample car parking . The young lady on Reception was very pleasant and welcoming . The room was fine and quiet . Breakfast next morning was everything you wanted , with coffee brought to your table almost before you sat down ! The other young lady on reception when I checked out was more than helpful .
The Hot Dogs on the Bar Menu !
The room was small and basic similar to a Travelodge. Not what I would expect from a Holiday Inn. The breakfast menu was not as good as other Holiday Inns with not much selection. The staff were getting ready for lunch at 8.45 and did not replenish the buffet.I would not stay here again
Staff were friendly - room was very good - clean and comfortable. Good food and very nice house wine although a bit pricey!!
Corridor areas lacked any character, very institutional and directions to reception from rooms could have been clearer.
