Nice car park!
If you want an hotel that takes bus-loads of pensioners and then leaves the infrastructure very tired and in need of serious restoration, then this hotel is for you. Though I will be staying in Norwich regularly due to family commitments, I will give this place a wide berth.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Location is perfect as a base for a stay just outside the city centre so you don't have to drive through it to arrive at the hotel and a taxi was around £7 to all the shops, restaurants and bars. Breakfast was fabulous all freshly prepared and buffet style so you could have whatever you wanted (and as much as you wanted!). Fresh fruit was perfect and the pancake machine a great idea. Looking forward to coming back here next year.
Bathroom was dated and small but functional and for a one/two night stay really not a problem.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Health Centre had long opening hours and was not crowded. Would recommend to anyone who does not need to stay in centre.
I found all the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. My children enjoyed the leisure facilities. The food was of a good standard.
I felt our room was extremely small for a family. There was no extra bed in the room when we arrived and a fold out bed was added to our room. The room was far to small to add the extra bed and space was a problem. Luckily we were only staying the one night! I felt the cleanliness of the room in particular the bathroom was poor. I felt over all the price of the room was excessive for the quality. We usually stay in the premier inn in Norwich City centre which is half the price and I have always found the room to be of a very good standard and a better size. I feel it was a lot of money to pay for what I found to be a extremely murky looking swimming pool. I wouldn't return in a hurry at that price!!
Staff was very accommodating. Stay was during a wedding reception, but room service was still very quick. Room was spacious, shower had great water pressure, which seems to be hard to come by in the UK.
Room was excessively hot. I turned the radiator off and still could not cool down. The window was locked and couldn't crack that for extra comfort. I was too exhausted to call and wait for a fan, but was assured the next morning the would have had brought a fan.
Swimming pool, restaurant, cooked to order aspects of breakfast
location, long way from centre and no bus on Sunday. No free Wi Fi.
Pool Room Very good staff Very well priced
Having to pay for wifi, think all hotels it should be free, £5 for an hour is a lot
Good variety of food at breakfast. Excellent leisure centre. Nice decor in bedroom. Staff exceptionally good.
Unfortunately we only had a very brief stay but we were very impressed by the professionalism of the reception staff.
1. Location easy to find, away from the noiseof the city centre but not too far out. 2. Hotel is quiet, with no noise intrusion from road or air traffic. 3. Staff very polite and attentive.
1. The price of the wifi is outrageous when almost all hotel chains now offer free wifi to guests; the quality of the signal & download speeds are very poor. 2. The water in the morning was cold, no matter how long the tap was left to run waiting for it to warm (i.e. 5 minutes) 3. The restaurant menus were so badly printed they were unreadable. They looked like they had been printed on an old 1970s copier running out of ink, and then the left side of the page guillotined to remove the first letters of every line. This would be appropriate for a cheap hotel somewhere in the developing world (i.e. central Africa) costing US$5/night, but a Holiday Inn in Europe? What's the excuse?
Did not appreciate having to pay for wifi. Had assumed that I might have had half an hour free. Think this should have been made clear at check-in.
This holiday Inn like many others is tired and shabby. certainly not worth £109 per night. Holiday Inn express generally offers better maintained facilities at a better price. Who wants to be presented with a dinner menu photocopied on tatty print paper and eat dinner at a table with hardly any varnish left while surrounded by threadbare grubby carpets. Not me.
Quiet rooms Great breakfast
Slow internet at times
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel and facilities were also good and the location was convenient.
The fact that children were running about in the room above in the early hours and it continued for some time. Either parents need to be aware that noise travels or hotel staff should accommodate small children on the ground floor to alleviate this issue.
This Hotel is excellant for me to travel from London, stay and see my children at weekends.
Although the hotel in general was excellent it was the friendliness and professional staff that gave it an extra edge.
Breakfast, swimming pool.
No biscuits or fridge.
Pleasant, quiet location. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Would have preferred a wider bed for the two of us.
Staff very friendly. Rooms comfortable and clean.
Restaurant / bar area very small and open plan, and sports TV on very loud in bar thus making dining / drinking experience unpleasant for others.
I liked that it is close to the city centre but far enough away not to hear the noise of the city
Good quick reception, quiet spacious room with seating, ground floor access to room, opportunity to swim, good breakfast, location close to our main route into Norwich, adequate easy parking.
Heating was set rather too high at night, but we could have tried to alter this!
breakfast not the holiday inn standard
