This modern hotel is in the middle of Portsmouth, just 1700 ft from Portsmouth and Southsea Train Station. The Ibis Hotel Portsmouth has a 24-hour snack menu, on-site parking and a stylish restaurant....
Score from 1518 reviews Good
Superbly located in Portsmouth’s lively waterfront development, Gunwharf Quays, this hotel offers bright, modern rooms with buffet breakfasts. Stores, bars and restaurants are on the hotel doorstep.
Score from 891 reviews Very good
This 4-star hotel is just off highway A27, with easy access to Portsmouth, and highways M27 and A3(M). It has luxury rooms, affordable on-site parking and a modern gym, refurbished in July 2009.
Score from 569 reviews Good
The Royal Maritime Club is just a 5-minute walk from the Gunwharf Quays waterfront development and Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard. It features free Wi-Fi, a swimming pool and gym.

The room we were given had a dirty carpet with blood stains and also blood on the curtains. The bathroom tiles were also very dirty with brown stains on the tiles where the shower curtains had not been moved for some time so this had not been noticed. I brought this up to the reception staff and asked for feedback but this has not been done. I often stay at this hotel and am disappointed with the customer service received this time.
Good location everything you want for a weekend of relaxation, and shopping.
No free wifi
Location for us was perfect. Room was clean and comfortable. Our stay included breakfast. Late check out
Disappointed with the pool facilities. I thought some of the guests were extremely rude when the staff were trying to do their job.
Excellent location and leisure facilities
Poor housekeeping room not made up well corridors not vacuumed adequately
Really Friendly staff - comfortable rooms - well presented
The parking set up was really good. The Breakfast was superb
There was a Xmas party being held, would have been nice to have had a quite place to sit and enjoy talking rather than shouting at one another. Maybe an alternative bar for residents would be nice for times like this.
The friendly staff and comfortable room
The car parking was horrendous. It took me 45 minutes to get out of the rear car park due to the lack of space to manoeuvre and inconsiderate parking of other guests. Would street park next time.
Location good for walking into Old Portsmouth (5 mins) and Gunwharf Quays (10 mins). Bar lively on a Friday evening, had more atmosphere than usually found in a Hotel Bar! You know what to expect with a Holiday Inn and we weren't disappointed!
Superb reception team, fast and precise check in. Room was spacious and fairly well presented. The rate of £75 was good for what was offered. Parking was restricted however free off site parking was an acceptable alternative.
Breakfast was good but the restaurant service were so disjointed it was laughable. No one really had a designated task. The restaurant manager really didn't have any idea or direction for her staff. My coffee never arrived. Not a slick operation at all.
staff were helpful especially the breakfast staff
room a little tired and paintwork scruffy
Breakfast was great Location and cleanliness
Leaving to go home
the location is excellent for visiting the historic shipyard and there is a great shopping center within easy reach.
how can they be proud to serve such disgusting coffee
For the price paid this hotel was excellent value with the added bonus of nice leisure facilities. Managed to fit in a swim, jacuzzi and steam before breakfast! The staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Not too far to walk to Gun Wharf Quays shopping (10-15 minutes).
Very little to fault. Poor quality scrambled eggs spoilt an otherwise excellent buffet breakfast. Paid WiFi expensive so didn't use it.
Clean. Staff very good. Good location for Gunwharf Quays and Xmas market. Restless night mainly due to rowdy/noisey guests up to early hours.
Restless night mainly due to rowdy/noisey guests up to early hours.
Location is great, free parking, lots of things to see and do...
WiFi is 45seconds free... it should be free like other places...
A short break to Portsmouth and the location was ideal for us being a short and easy walk to the sights we intended visiting. Large family room provided which was a bonus as we only required a double.
On-site parking is very limited and spaces are small. In fairness, the hotel do provide foc visitors parking permits if you have to park on-street.
Friendly and helpful staff even at 2pm
Those dodgy duvet covers that you end up sleeping in during the night because they're not buttoned down at the ends
Bar open for restaurant meals later than restaurant. Hotel is close enough to the ferry terminal to just have a short trip for the early morning
Stayed here before. Gd location & breakfast. Room tiny but ok for a short break. Nice pool
The bed was very uncomfortable this time
When booking we requested a double bed, but on arrival we were given a twin room. Reception claimed that the preference we expressed on the booking.com website was not passed onto them, so it was pot luck when we arrived and unfortunately we were out of luck.
Good pool opening times breakfast good value staff on duty when we arrived very helpful and friendly
Bed too small and dipped in the middle Lack of free wi fi in public areas Man on duty on our second night not helpful or friendly!
Everything bar the parking
Nowhere to park on arrival. Alternative ankle deep in mud. When we managed to park couldn't get in driver's door next day due to poor parking of other cars. Too many cars parking out of the designated spaces.
Fifteen minutes to walk to the docks and shopping friendly staff clean room
Restaurant not worth the price!
