very friendly, helpful staff, complimentory drink on arrival and biscuits on reception every day.
limited parking so had to park on street but the desk staff did appologise and gave us a parking permit.
Reception staff efficient and polite, breakfast service was above average for this type of hotel
Car park was full! But no gripes about the hotel
The location, within walking distance of Gunwharf Quays, The Maritime Museum, the Spinnaker Tower. The reception staff were very friendly, welcoming and informative.
The hotel room & bathroom was quite small. The car park was full when we arrived, however, we were given a parking permit for a car park located across the road which was fine.
My son in law snoring!!!
Hassan on reception- cheerful and friendly at all times
Location. Staff. Rooms. Restaurant.
Location, lovely staff, good facilities, spacious lounge and eating areas in the bar, good choice of meals.
Smelling smoke from smokers outside the main entrance, even though we were on the fourth floor.
The staff were helpful and plesant with dealing with requests.
The bathroom was on the small side.
Location, parking facilities, room with a sea view
Paying extra for breakfast and WIFI
This hotel is within walking distance of Old Portsmouth and all the historical attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful
No biscuits on welcome tray

mattrass too firm
Good quiet location. Handy for Ferries. easy walking distance to Portsmouth old town and the spinnaker shopping center and restaurants. Breakfast was very good
Location to ferry and gunwharf quay
Bed was a bit hard !
The staff, nothing was too much trouble. Well trained, helpful and knowledgeable about the area and what Holiday Inn has to offer.
Not enough milk provided with the in room tea and coffee making facilities.
Maz. He was really helpful when we checked in and changed 1 of our double rooms to a twin the parking arrangements and flexibiltity that we could stay in the car park even after check out
This hotel was in a great central location within walking distance of historic dockyard, shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Nice to use pool/hot tub and steam room after a busy day. Bar area comfortable with Starbucks coffee and good food.
Room and bathroom were a bit small (executive double).
Good sea front location, walking distance to everything we needed, good helpful friendly staff, nice pool and gym.
When we got there could not park in the car park, but it was a bank holiday weekend and plenty of free street parking in front of the hotel. The bar in the hotel closed early than I would of liked and only took credit card linked to the room after 11.
Good location welcoming staff great food
The smoking close to the hotel the smell of cigarette smoke was obvious even when sleeping
The location suited our requirements and close to the centre of the city, room was good, breakfast was excellent, the staff were very efficient and polite and resolved the problems quickly. We were offered 24hr free WiFi by joining the IHG Rewards Club.
WiFi was very expensive. There was a mix up with the booking, I had booked an Executive Double room with breakfast. When we arrived we were offered a twin room, which we declined, they managed to find a double, which we accepted. I didn't measure the TV but we noticed that there was no fridge with complimentary items, nor were there any bathrobes. When we we pointed this out at reception I was told that this only applied to Executive Rooms. when I showed them my booking confirmation from you they were very apologetic, they did offer to try and transfer us to a new room but in the end we agreed to stay put and accept a reduction in the cost. We we surprised that a loo brush was not provided in the bathroom, I understand this is the IHG group policy on grounds of hygiene!!!!!
everything about this hotel is excellent friendly staff, so clean. room was perfect. Location is great and I enjoyed using the swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. would recommend.
Charlotte receptionist was excellent welcoming us on arrival, we were two hours early, yet she managed to allocate a ready room on the spot. Very Impressed,,,, We were new to the City, she was extremely helpful and provided us with lots of information. Charlotte is an asset for the hotel.
Bar staff on duty lacked product knowledge, on the Friday evening went to the bar for a drink with my wife, I asked for a Cointreau with crushed ice, barmaid did not know what is a Cointreau. I pointed out the bottle in the bar, then I asked for crushed ice to be served with my drink. She did know what to do about the crushed ice, assume she is not properly trained correctly on product knowledge to services. I noted, barmaid did not understand what is an ice crusher? On Saturday night went for a drink in the bar, ordered a bottle of Prosecco, it was served on huge silver fruit bowl with ice instead of a ice basket. I am very particular about any hotels food and beverage services to its presentation. Please do bring this to General Manager’s attention. Please note; I will omit my criticism on product knowledge and but include good points in the trip advisor. Hotel deserve a credit.
The friendliness of the staff, the excellent service - all the staff we met were chatty without being intrusive. Lovely food - ate in the bar and the restaurant, didn't feel the need to eat out. It seems like my 'dislikes' outweigh the 'likes' - this definitely wasn't the case!
No biscuits in the room! We were there over a very busy bank holiday weekend (kite & music festivals) so the car park was too small when the hotel was full. Had to park across the road for the first night then got blocked in a bit when I did get a space - not a huge problem though.
The location to the venue we was going to.
We could not park in the hotel car park, we was given a map of where to park which was very vague as we did not know the area so we had to drive around.
Hotel was excellent position for our needs. Breakfast good and everything on a par with other hotels that we have stayed in for short breaks. E.g. Premier Inn and Travel Lodge.
Difficult for parking (but not easy to resolve). Travel directions not easy to follow when we arrived in Portsmouth.
