very good location for going into town . beds very comfortable
Good location Very comfortable room
Breakfast 2 as lukewarm and poor value for money
Nice clean hotel with enough space not to feel crampt. Room very clean and was a nice size, bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have a selection of hard medium and soft pillows. room was cleaned every day. Very friendly staff.
Breakfast was over priced for what it was but the selection was good. Lack of selection of real ales at the bar. Restaurant food was only ok.
Friendly, effient staff. enjoyed meal in the restaurant. comfy bed.
Room spacious with comfy large bed, good TV, good seating too, good coffee making facilities and excellant en suite. Small gym and pool available for guest use which was good.
Breakfast was just too expensive
Quality of fittings in bathroom, level of cleanliness and the fact that when sitting on the toilet I could hear the people using their toilet in the next room - not very pleasant.
Mainly everything, i have stayed at many hotels in reading & many don't compare. The location, service, quality of the room, the little things they provide, comfort of the bed etc
The only thing i can mark this hotel down for is the shower, the only disappointment was the shower, it really didn't have much water pressure at all and it seemed pretty knackered too me
The service was fantastic, the staff were helpful, pleasant and attentive to all our needs. Please forward to them a well done, they made our stay a pleasure after a long journey. The king size bed, the clean sheets and pillow cases.
The room furnishings were dated and require updating. The arm chair was heavily stained and soiled, to the point that we daren't use it. The wifi not being free, popped into the local pub where it was.
Loved the fact that they thought of extending breakfast till 12 noon for us festival goers. They checked us in as early as they could and even gave us a print out of the festival map/directions/shuttles. There is a supermarket directly opposite the hotel and a bus stop right outside. The location is perfect. Near enough to the town but far enough for some peace and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
Location was walkink distance from our destination.
The bartender did not get the order for dinner correct.
We stayed here overnight on the August bank holiday weekend to go to the festival. It's right off the M4, very easy to find, and there is a regular bus service to get to the centre. 24 hour reception was very handy, as we weren't going to get there until about 1am. Checkout was at 12 noon, which was very welcome given the amount of drinking we did the day before! They had nice thick curtains which kept the daylight out when we were sleeping in the next morning. The hotel seemed pretty geared up to expect festivalgoers, they gave a handy leaflet with travel info and a map of the site.
Everything was good, I can't think of much. I guess the breakfast was too expensive, which was the reason we didn't have it (£10pp was apparently a special offer!).
Staff very welcoming in spite of the late arrival. Room clean , warm , spacious.
It was clean and tidy
Think some of the furniture has seen better days could do with an update
saturday night the jacusi was already closed at eight o'clock
Big rooms, nice pool, friendly staff, bus right outside straight into the centre.
Breakfast was expensive
At night we had a noisy boilerroom next to our room and couldn t sleep. After a call to the frondesk they switched our rooms immediately and we had a peaceful night. Great customer service!
DISTANCE FROM READING
Staff helpful, friendly and professional. Well organised, rooms comfortable, clean and well equipped. Had dinner and breakfast in restaurant. Food well-presented and enjoyable. Close to M4 Motorway with easy access to Heathrow for connecting flight. Would stay again.
Excessive noise in restaurant from adjoinging bar area
maggie was nice and the rest of the staff was friendly also
not enough breakfast variety
Comfortable and well-serviced room. Super bed. Excellent dinner and wine in the hotel restaurant. Absolutely top-level service from every member of staff we met.
Breakfast. Mostly luke-warm on cold plates. I don't see how this can be avoided when served as a buffet. Thankfully we were on a breakfast-inclusive deal, otherwise we would have refused to pay the £14.95 cost for this congealed and greasy mess. If only it could have reached even half the level of dinner the night before!
Another great stay, nice breakfast, good value ,great location
Great location and handy as a Reading base.Comfortable rooms and everything that you would expect from a well established Hotel group. Generally attentive staff and the fish and chips were superb.
If you don't drink wine you will be fine.If you do you will need to lie down in a darkened room after parting with a kings ransom.£8.35 for a large glass of Chardonnay and £23.50 for a bottle of Nottage Hill Shiraz is crazy. This is not the west end of London!
