nice quality hotel with excellent access to airport, well soundproofed

Very professionaly-run hotel; excellent staff, friendly, but courteous at all times. I particularly welcomed the effective sound-proofing of the room; this is a rare in hotels where one is aware of guests coming and going, and closing of doors. Being a new hotel, it is spotless; I just hope that this is maintained with heavy use. Greatly enjoyed the Rooftop restaurant; I had dinner two nights running, and found the quality and presentation excellent; good value as well.

There was absolutely nothing; a most enjoyable experience.

Very dusty on the desk Steak not cooked properly & told it was down to the cut of the steak. Did get a free desert though but would have been happier with a refund on the steak that was overcooked

Proximity to runway, but double glazing reduced noise to minimum,and design made a negative into a positive (rooftop restaurant bar).

Pay for car park

I personally did like everything especially the location , airport ,shops,restaurant car parking although you pay for it

Very convenient location 5 minute walk from terminal and small airport so very quick to get through; would stay again primarily to avoid long ques checking in as Garwick was a nightmare! lovely hotel, very professional and friendly service while checking in- may be eat Mac Donald's though not the restaurant food- pricey and not great.

One thought, the car park fees are separate from the hotel bill. Seems a little strange that the guests have to pay a separate amount to park your car, whilst it is not mentioned on hotel details.

Adjacent to airport for early start. Staff at desk and in 5th floor restaurant were excellent.

Only one bath towel but sure that was simple oversight. Restaurant food needed a Lille more flavour and less oil.

The staff was rude when I asked for a fold out bed for my 3year old son they told me there has been family's booked in who have them , ain't I classed as a family there was me my partner and son ? So what are we ? Weired how they think .They gave me a blanket in the end to put on the floor how rude I would never let my child sleep on the floor he ain't a dog ! The room it's self made me I'll the amount of dust in the room was terrible caused me and my family a sore throat would never come back here again.

The location adjoining the airport is ideal and very convenient. Rail and Bus links nearby providing links into town or further afield. The hotel facilities are excellent, restaurant and bar overlooking the Eddie Stobart Airport makes for a very pleasant and different outlook.

Nothing I would consider disapointing.

We stayed at holiday inn in southend since our flight to Amsterdam was taking off from southend airport. So we ended up staying there for two nights. It was absolutely the right decision. The hotel itself was spotless. It was really clean and well maintained. Best hotel for the price. southend is a nice town for nightlife and clubs. Not so much during the days. Hotel is right next to the airport and the train station that takes u to and back from London. No cabs needed. Has a nice restaurant and adequate gyms. sofa bed was comfy. Iron and iron board, hair dryer, coffee maker and supplies were all included. Finally, Staff were extremely nice, professional, and helpful. Naz, Sej, and their managers gave us superb business. Will definitely go back if I ever needed to stay in southend.

The fact that wifi is not included and had to be purchased for 5pounds per user per device per day. Breakfast not included. But price buffered the lack of these two things.

The hotel has not actually got a coastal aspect,but this excellent establisment quickly makes up for that with its location at Southend International Airport.Spotless luxurious bedrooms,plenty of relaxing areas and the stunning 1935 Rooftop Restaurant and Bar is like been in a large airport control tower as there is a spectacular uninterrupted view of all the runways (plane spotters take note) in addition to the Rooftop Terrace with views that go on for miles.

Not being able to open a window for fresh air

Ideal location at the airport. Meant we could avoid late night driving on return from our holiday.

On check in the very enthusiastic member of staff rattled off so much information during check in.It was very distracting and too much. Would have liked a wider selection of draught products on the bar.

Rooms are clean, we stayed in 2 rooms during our stay, they are both spotlessly clean. Pet friendly.

The double bed is just standard size, could be a bit bigger.
