Holiday Inn Southend  

Mooi nieuw hotel, met goede kamers, prachtge badkamer, en heerlijk ontbijtbuffet, op de 5e etage waar een schitterend uitzicht is.

Very New and clean Hotel and very near Airport

Not being advised that we could also Book Car parking as well while we were away

The staff are really friend so helpfull. I would defo stay again and tell other about my stay. Thank you for a great weekend.

Very comfortable bed and surprisingly quiet night given close proximity of the Airport.

Cooked breakfast VERY disappointing! All cold not helped by cold plates. Not worth the £10 each cost. Would breakfast elsewhere nearby should we stay again.

Staff in restaurant were very rude, breakfast was no way value for money. When complained staff were backchatting. Iron leaked dirt over brand new shirt, stain still hasn't come out

Location was excellent as we were catching an early plane

Staff were fantastic, even the cleaners were polite and friendly. We had a free upgrade as it was our wedding night with a few nice touches I.e champagne & chocolates. Very nice

Was cold and the heating was not working good

We were flying out first thing from airport. We could not have been any nearer. The staff were all very helpful and hotel lovely and new.

Tiny point - we arrived from London by train and do not know the area at all. It was late and foggy and we could not see the hotel from station. A signpost or poster with directions would have been useful.

It is very close to the airport . So I didn't have to take a bus or a taxi in the evening. And the staffs were kind to me. I can't speak English .But when I spoke it very slowly, they listened to me carefully. Also they spoke slowly to make me understand what they spoke.

I did like staff, room. It was perfect for me and my boufriend. We really enjoyed. Thank you so much.

We enjoyed out stay with no problems, enjoyed the view of the airport, it occupied the children watching the planes.

Not a major issue but everybody we spoke to did say the same thing, Rooms were clean,comfortable and in excellent condition. ( but this is a new Hotel, so it should be ). The pillows on the beds are like concrete, they feel soft at the touch but they are extremly uncomfortable, such a shame, as we had 3 rooms and 6 adults and 2 children, all had the same problem. Easy problem to resolve.

The car parking system, to us, was annoying, having to get a ticket stamped in order to get out of the car park, and then push the button for a new one each time you came in/out of the car park, felt like a prison. Would not recommend to other people. Breakfast too expensive.

No shower cup, soap or shampoo...pretty basic facilities and not the five stars standard...more like an average three

On arrival the accommodation reserved was not what we had booked and caused a delay in our getting to a Wedding. Not very impressed - upgraded us to a larger room but still not the accommodation booked. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children, eventually only one extra bed was provided - where was the other child supposed to sleep?

Good clean and bright rooms

Poor and slow check in.Breakfast of a very low standard and many items not available as required.Staff had to be reminded 3 times that eggs were awaited.Bacon ran out and arrived 10 minutes after eggs. Not enough seating in the bar area for ebvening drinks.Dinner menue expensive when compared to quality of food served.

Staff were excellent - very friendly & welcoming

We only stayed overnight so couldbt say there was anythign inparticulr we disliked. Perhaps more milk cartons (!)
